Kids Menu
Sophie V.

Service was polite but slow. It was not a busy time for them and our appetizer took a while to receive. Our food came shortly after our appetizer. We decided to order a dessert when we were almost finished eating and that took another 15-20 minutes to get. Our kids were chomping at the bit to leave. This is probably a better place for a date night when you don't care how long you're there. Atmosphere is nice inside and on their outdoor patio! Food was pretty good! I'd say 4/5 stars overall, that is why I didn't give this place 3/5 stars for slow service and an inattentive experience. We had the: *Truffle Fries 4/5 Stars *Kids Meal Lollipop Corndogs 3.5/5 Stars *Steak Tacos 4/5 Stars *1 LB Wings w/ Buffalo Sauce (they don't bread their wings) 4/5 Stars *Beignets Basket for dessert 5/5 Stars!!! We would come back just for the Beignets, they were even better than we thought they'd be!

The food is consistent and always really good all of it. I had kind of a little tantrum about the way that DoorDash delivered it and that wasn't Proofs fault. I just never used DoorDash anymore.

Baja Fish Tacos

Service and wait staff were extremely welcoming, ambiance was descent if your looking for a casual feel. Food was laughable. I'd strongly suggest try anything but the fish tacos. Menu said Baja Fish tacos with homemade chips and salsa. Salsa was flavorless almost like tomato purée, chips were burnt and cold. Neither appeared home made. For $16 plus you get 3 fish sticks on a street taco tortilla.

Size of the fish compared to a French fry

Ordered the lunch Tacos and the size of the fish on the tacos was laughable. Literally barely bigger than a French fry. I asked the waitress "is this normal?" and commented that this felt like an incredibly small amount of food. Waitress said that they are all like this. I asked what could be done and my only option was to buy another fish taco. I couldn't even order a steak one, the chef said "no" to that when the waitress asked. Taste was decent but nothing amazing. It's hard for food to taste good when you know you're getting ripped off. Service was good and the waitress was nice.

Nice bar, service had a poor start.

Whelp, I honestly thought this place was going to be a disaster. It looks like a nice place at first glance; the ambiance is functional, new bohemian, with lots of wood accents and hanging Edison lamps. However, when we arrived, the kitchen was in disarray, and the server didn't even greet us. He jumped right into our drink order before we even had a chance to look at the craft cocktail menu, and didn't seem to know his cocktail menu, so I ended up with well gin. Turns out he'd mixed up which of our drinks had Hendricks and which had well gin, so he never asked me what I wanted. He whisked away before we even had a chance to order starters, leaving us with questions about the menu as he took orders from people seated after us. That's a lot to go wrong in under five minutes! Fortunately, he recovered nicely later. We had an array of dishes, ranging from the crispy cauliflower and whiskey fries (also known as poutine) to pizza, fried chicken, and tacos. Everything came out as expected and delicious, and the second round of drinks was even better after the initially disappointing drink, which was their version of a Zombie Tiki Cocktail. The server went the extra mile to make up for the earlier mistakes, so in my mind, that earns them four stars for a good recovery, getting out of the weeds, and making things right. Unfortunately, they didn't start like that from the beginning. So nothing not to recommend this place, except maybe go at a less busy time, and expect the server not to know his menu or how his tablet works, and plan to be patient.

Bee Keeper cocktail

Located in a little strip mall, this place was better than expected. Food was so good I forgot to take pictures. But we ordered the Baja fish tacos, there are pickled jalapeños chopped in so be advised if you can't do spicy. We also got the steak frites, medium rare of course. Cooked perfectly! Fries were great as well. I got a light and refreshing cocktail, the Bee Keeper. Will definitely get that one again. Our server was funny and right on point. My date said this place sounded fancy, but it's very casual, low key vibes in here. The music and TV wasn't too loud so you can carry on a conversation without having to strain to hear each other. We will definitely be back!!

The weekend brunches are wonderful. Their eggs Benedict is fabulous. Super staff here, too.

I have been to proof several times and each time it improves. As soon as the door opened, I was greeted with a big smile and prompt seating at a table. The place has a moody cool vibe, almost reminiscent of speakeasy. We were quickly approached by our friendly server with water. We capitalized on Happy hour and ordered the Whiskey Fries. They showed up in all their glutinous glory; fries slathered with whisky peppercorn gravy, cheddar cheese and caramelized onions. Each bite was scrumptious and decadent, though I wished the fries were cooked a tad more. My friend and I shared the Prime Rib dip and opted for the side salad. I had the ranch dressing, which was deliciously herbaceous and tasted homemade. Every shred of lettuce, carrot and tomato was fresh and assembled with care, the homemade croutons were a kiss of perfection. The dip sandwich had some delightfully crunchy but not too hard bread, with the thinly sliced prime rib, onions, cheese and the myriad of other magical flavors melting into a bite of heaven. I was almost disappointed that I split a plate with my friend! Definitely the best thing I've ever had there. We topped off the evening with beignets with a luscious berry sauce for dipping. I've never had beignets before and wasn't sure if they were supposed to be hard to cut in half. The powdered sugar covers everything on the table, but a nibble with that sauce is worth it all. They are chewy yet puffy, sweet yet not overly sweet. Only downside was that it took almost 30 minutes from order to hitting our table, but the server comped them without us asking due to the wait. Incredibly thoughtful, even though we never complained. Amazing service and food...can't wait to go back!

Sunday Night Pasta

I have nothing but good things to say about this business. From the food to the waitstaff, we have been happy every time. We've been here for brunch, lunch and dinner. I definitely recommend the Brussels Sprout appetizer. Idaho Melt and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich are fantastic. Tried the Sunday Night Pasta our last visit. Great pasta dish. Really enjoyed the variety of meat. Bee Sting and Taco Pizza definitely worth trying! Brunch favorite is the Smoked Brisket & Sweet Potato Hash.

Overrated bar with mediocre menu options, limited seating and very loud environment. Some folks love it but not for me.

He even gave me recommendations on where to work if I were to move to Idaho. Super dope guy. The ambiance was quiet enough for us to talk and be tame but that might change depending when you go... as Saturday it was full and you could barely hear yourself think. This spot is great if you come in on a weekday and enjoy a couple of drinks. If you come in the weekend, don't expect any intimacy. Either way great spot and great cocktails. I got the night in Bangkok and it was great. Hope to come here again to revisit the amazing hospitable people it has.

Meridian has the village for fancy shit Nampa has the Sick Stag. Every city has its fancy elevated cocktail place. You just gotta know where to look for it. Not to mention this place has amazing music to add the sexy ambience. As a former DJ, I really appreciate this.

I don't smoke, & sensitive to all types of smoke...so I'd thought I'd have issues here... but their state of the art air purification system really works! Every staff member (as well as patrons) I met were all genuinely friendly, & full of ideas of drinks to try. As I'm a very light drinker, I qonly got to enjoy one delish drink this time , but I got to try another drink the 1st time I came, & I had a sip of my friend's drink ... all 3 drinks were fantastic... in quality spirits, in presentation, in atmosphere the drinks were enjoyed in... I highly recommend this as another downtown Eagle destination, even if u don't smoke, or u smoke but don't want to drink...as the cozy yet ample enviro lends itself to both intimate as well as group gatherings. I appreciate that I can bring my own food in, & that there is both indoor as well as outdoor seating. I rate it as very accessible, as multi seat types, multi entrances, spacious interior & exterior. Honestly it was nice to not feel rushed... & it was fairly quiet yet lively while I was there both times... so u can actually hear who u are talking to, unlike many restaurants (& coffee shops). Shout out to the great new GM & both bartenders who were very patient with this self proclaimed high interest low liquor knowledge gal

(Honestly, 10 stars if I could!)…read more I recently hosted a first-time homebuyers class at The Syringa and it was absolutely perfect. The space was ideal for a small group -- cozy, welcoming, and the ambience made everyone feel comfortable and engaged. My attendees were attentive, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyed being there, which says a lot about the environment. I also come here regularly for morning business meetings, and it never disappoints. Great coffee, beautiful space, and a calm energy that makes it easy to connect and get work done. What really sets The Syringa apart though is how community-driven they are. As someone who loves supporting local Nampa businesses, this place checks every box.
