There are still some food items that are still being served, like the Shepherd's pie, which I had last time. Service was good, I can't complain. If you like the local bar vibe and comfort food you are coming to the right place. I order the steak fingers, my first time ever with the fry sauce and garlic fries, I was pleasantly surprised that they were quite tasty and a big portion. We've given this place two tries now, wanting to be fair before leaving a review, but unfortunately, both visits left us disappointed. On our most recent visit, I ordered the meatloaf, and my husband had the bangers and mash. The meatloaf tasted more like Salisbury steak, lacking the classic texture and flavor we expected. My husband's dish was equally underwhelming--the sausage had a freezer-burnt taste, and the peas looked the same. Service was a mixed bag. Our waiter was friendly, but the overall experience was confusing. When you walk in, no one acknowledges you. The staff makes eye contact but doesn't greet or guide you, leaving you to guess whether you should seat yourself--without any signage to clarify. We really wanted to love this place, and it has potential. Hopefully, management takes feedback seriously because with some improvements in food quality and customer service, this could be a great spot. read more

Ownership recently changed and we were eager to see the "new" menu and restaurant improvements since the food had slowly became substandard over the past few years. When we got there, it was if nothing had changed; the prices had slightly increased and the menu appeared to be the same. Service was still friendly, though infrequent (in all fairness the place was pretty full). I do love the rugged Irish bar look with the dark woods and signs, it does provide a nice sense of comfort. Put the place has little to no soundproofing so when there are large parties it can get quite difficult to have an 1:1 conversation. Add in the bar crowd and occasional jukebox tune and you're just blinking awkwardly at your table mate. Dinner came out quickly. I ordered the Lonestar chicken sandwich with a $2 upgrade to side salad, hubby had the Sully's burger as it comes. His hamburger patty was incredibly thin, though the toppings were fresh and the bun soft, they were what made up the majority of his "burger". Your $12 burger is really a $8 burger....so if you want to really eat a hamburger, you'll have to pay extra for the 1/2 or 1/3 pound. My chicken sandwich tasted tangy and the veggies on the sandwich and salad were crunchy delicious. I felt like the chicken was lacking a bit in the meatiness department as well...like it was a half of a chicken breast. For $14 I was hoping for a bit more meat. Fries seemed to be a small portion than I recall before. Fry sauce has a horseradish kick to it, so be warned....hubby was not a fan. read more

We were really disappointed with the service. The food (once they got it right) was okay but not great. And the waitress was so rude, but I think she really was just stupid. She brought out a drink no one ordered and then got snotty about it. Every time we would try to ask or say anything she would cut us off. It was 4 pm and not super busy but we were there almost two hours and she kept saying she just started her shift and the reason they kept screwing up our food was shift changes (for two hours?) When all was said and done she had to come write down our tickets THREE times so she could bill us right and even then it was wrong. Recent Update: I liked my experience so much the other day, I brought my wife and a couple from our neighborhood in. Met a friend for Linner. Friendly atmosphere. Delicious Lamb Burger cooked perfectly. My friend had TriTip Dip and ate the whole thing because it was so good. Food took over 40 minutes. It was not busy either. To make it worse was very rude service from the bartender. Food was decent. Not worth it.

The service was exceptional. The Salmon and garlic potatoes were perfect. The only complaint is I didn't have enough room left for desert.

Went in with my family for weeknight dinner. Had to wait to be seated even though the place was nearly empty. Once seated was completely ignored for more than 20 minutes even while two ladies were rolling silverware a few tables away. They couldn't be bothered to even get us water or any acknowledgement we were waiting. We finally left to get food elsewhere. If I'm so unimportant why would I give them my business. I've eaten here before and didn't have these issues, but I believe they are under new ownership. Very disappointing. read more

Family enjoyed the potato skins and the halibut fish n chips (I prefer panko bread crumb batter vs. beer batter but it was good). I'm usually NOT the type to leave reviews (let's be honest... most people only write them when they're upset ), but I had to give credit where it's due tonight! Tried Sully's for the first time and WOW. From the moment we sat down the service was on point. The bartender, Haven (I think that was her name!), made an absolutely fantastic drink that hit the spot after a long day. Our waitress, Madi, greeted us almost immediately and had the most refreshing, positive attitude. The food? Perfect. Exactly what we needed after a long day of work. Our table was cleared right away when we finished, and the service stayed great the whole time. I asked Madi who helped her with our table and she said her name was Sam -- so shoutout to her too! Joined some friends for a Saturday afternoon late lunch/early dinner. It was a nice day so we sat on the covered patio, which was great for the two little kids with us. They were able to play at the table or in the grass while the adults visited. They really could use a few more fans as it really warmed up with no air flow. The food was really good, but definitely heavy. We started with beers and asked for waters for the kids. Our waitress told us she'd bring us tasters of the beer we were asking about. Instead she brought out 22oz beers for each of us. Luckily we liked the beer, but that was the first indication our waitress was not on her A-game. And we had to ask multiple times for the waters for the kids. For appetizers, we started with the Irish Nachos and the Spinach Artichoke dip. Both were really good! I like the thick-cut potatoes for the nachos. They were like a Rueben-style nacho. And the the dip was super cheesy and rich. For our meal, our table's order included the Reuben with onion rings, Finger steaks and fries, roasted turkey sandwich with onion rings, the buffalo burger (actual bison burger NOT Franks-style buffalo hot sauce), and an order of the kids mac & cheese with fries. The only complaint about the food was from the Finger steaks, and that was only about the size of the order was a bit on the small side. Not trying anyone else's food, I will speak to my order: the Rueben with onion rings. It was delicious! The sauerkraut was tangy and still had a bit of a crunch to it. The onion rings were worth the upgrade. Get them with their fry sauce, if you like horseradish, which I do. It's heavy on that. As was the cocktail sauce with hubby's finger steaks. Again, I'm a fan so that was a plus for me. Sadly, the service we received was really lacking. Our waitress couldn't tell us what beers were on tap without having to go to the bar several times. She'd finally written down a list, but then when we ordered our "tasters" on our way to get them she said something about no knowing if it the keg was empty. At one point we were the only ones on the patio and felt completely forgotten. The waitress assumed that with the two ordered appetizers we wouldn't be ordering any other food. So there was a large time of waiting for our lunch order to be taken and then getting our food. And when I asked about the Daily Specials (as it says on the menu), we were told it was after the time for that. I didn't see anywhere that they were for only a limited time during the day. I think we'd come back here, but might avoid the patio. I feel like we'd get much better service being in the restaurant. read more

We sat down and it took 5 minutes to get our menus. 10 minutes later the server took our drink order, but didn't ask for our food order. Took another 10-15 minutes to get our drink order, then we were able to give our food order. Looong wait-our beers were done before the food came. Ordered another round and never received it. Then it took forever to get our check. One person ordered a large beer and only received a medium. Been there before and had great service. I've been looking forward to visiting for a few years now and finally was able to make it there. It was kind of a last minute decision, but good timing. The place was busy and lively. Parking: There is a parking lot with enough room for the restaurant. The spots aren't small so they have plenty of space between cars. Service: the service was great! We were greeted quickly and given an option to sit in the back room with heaters. We decided to wait for a table in the main area to get the full experience. After a short wait we were seated. We were asked if we would like drinks fairly quickly. The food came out well spaced. We never felt rushed to leave. Drinks: I had the Guinness on tap. It was smooth and cold in a large glass. My wife got an old fashioned. Food: The salad was large, cold and crisp. My wife had the meatloaf and it was seasoned well and had a good flavor. I had the Prime rib and it was tender and the correct redness with good flavor. read more

Sullys is an awesome little local Irish Pub in the heart of Star. Strong drinks at fair prices. Really good consistent pub food at its finest. This is a kid friendly, dog friendly pub that has a large patio that is heated in the Winter months. In the Spring/Summer months they open up the back patio large door to more tables and outdoor games which are fun. Horse shoe pits and bean bag games keep the kiddos entertained. Most times we end up making friends with the tables around ours. The locals in Star are quite friendly and neighborly. We love Sullys and frequent it quite often. Maybe we'll see you there sometime. I ordered food to go over the phone. Asked for a burger wrapped in lettuce (can't have the bun). They sent me with the saddest overcooked patty I'd ever seen and only one small piece of lettuce. My boyfriend needed the same but without cheese. His was just a dry gross chunk of meat and there wasn't even any ketchup or mustard on either. We picked it up 5 minutes BEFORE they said it was going to ready to go- only drove a mile back home and it was ice cold. So gross, so expensive and I will never go back. read more

Sully's location is really great! Right in the middle of Star. The inside area is small and has about 4-5 tables and a large bar. Definitely where the locals love to get their drink on. Unfortunately the bar is only able to handle drinks they know. It took us over 30 minutes to get our drinks, 1 which was on their cocktail menu and they had trouble making a whiskey sour with egg-white foam. This was mid-week around 3 pm or so. So if you want drinks quick make sure you only order a beer. The waitress did seem like she wanted to please us but was not attentive. She never made eye contact and pretty much just avoided our table in general. 2 other larger parties that sat down after us, got drinks faster, food faster and were in and out. Took over an hour to get 1 hamburger. I was the only one hungry so we just ordered 1 and (let me repeat) over an hour!!! The fries were good but the meat tasted odd like it was old. We sat in the patio and it is covered with a gas fire place barrel which looked awesome and gave great warmth. Looked like in the summer they have space for live music which would be fun to go watch and drink. But make sure you only order beer so it doesn't take all day. read more
