The beer we had was a barleywine type which is a kind we don't often get but always enjoy when we do. The name of this particular beer was Shake and Date. The flavors to enjoy in this stronger ABV beer is Vanilla, Marshmallow and Dates. That is probably where the name comes in on that last flavor feature. The beer is sweet but more in a natural, evolved (mature) way and the beer is barrel aged so it's definitely going to pack a whallop. That alone was disappointing, but hearing it within earshot of customers felt extremely unprofessional. As a long-time business owner myself, I firmly believe you are only as strong as your team. Respecting employees -- especially publicly -- is critical to a healthy work environment and strong customer experience. It was uncomfortable to witness and ultimately the reason we won't be returning. I genuinely felt sorry for the staff working that shift. Additionally, it appeared that both owners may have been drinking while on shift, which also felt unprofessional. One of them did approach us and seemed very sweet, but after overhearing the earlier comments, it unfortunately changed the entire atmosphere for us. The overall ambiance was decent, and Alex did a great job. It's just disappointing when leadership undermines what could otherwise be a positive experience.
