This place has a nice variety of different types of popcorn to choose from. They also have a few different sizes to choose from as well. I liked the overall look of the place and that they have both sweet and savory popcorn flavors. I would say that they are actually pretty decently priced, especially considering that they are located in a tourist area. The cheddar flavor is good. The cookies & cream flavor is decent. I would be interested to go back and try some of their other flavors. read more

I went after dinner on a random weekday. They were about to close so I just slipped in to see the store. Super cute and clean store. The workers are super nice. They let me try some popcorn. I ended up getting the spicy buffalo popcorn and I brought some home! Kinda expensive but it was good. Just a little bit too salty for me but maybe it was the flavor I got! I love popcorn so I'll be coming back to try new flavors! read more

I really enjoyed their candy popcorn! They also had a gerlic and parmesan which was great. They have a few sizes which was nice.

We stopped to get some popcorn to have later to watch movies at the Airbnb we were staying with. They had a lot of selections and gave samples of anything you wanted to try. I ended up with two bags that were $6.50 each and you might say that is too much for popcorn, but it wasn't. I got a mix of caramel and jalapeno popcorn and then the salted caramel. I had the latter already as of this review....delicious with a nice salty flavor to balance out the sweet caramel. Worth it. read more

We were in town for the Big Ears music festival and really enjoyed the selection of popcorn flavors, freshness and the helpful staff. This is located on a square right in the middle of downtown. We were in town for 4-5 days and hit up the Proper Popcorn twice. They have standard flavors but also some rotating special flavors. Savory or buttery popcorn is my taste, not sweet. We got a few bags of different flavors to try. Let's just say I was not very decisive because there was so many size and flavor selections. The staff was very patient with me. We are serious popcorn fans and this was great because we skipped a few meals and ate popcorn. The Proper Popcorn is very clean and also offers candy and other gift type options. Considering Big Ears was charging $11 for a small box this is so much better and a bargain. read more

Stopped by this popcorn joint and was blown away by the selection and the great quality. I tried the jalapeno and the salted caramel and they were delicious. The prices weren't bad. You could get a medium bag which seemed pretty big to me for $12. They let you try samples of whatever you like and they are so super friendly. read more

Cute popcorn shop located at Market Square in Knoxville, TN. Smelled really good too as soon as you step foot through the door! The staff was engaged and helpful. One worker was inappropriately eating with customers present. Probably would have been a better look if she had stepped away to eat. Moving along .. we sampled popcorn and browsed the shop. Lots of collectibles, nostalgic type items. I hated all the ugly TN orange stuff!! ROLL TIDE! I purchased some popcorn for my niece and nephew. They hated the candy mix ... said it tastes like poison! Lol. Thankfully, they enjoyed the other combination mix I selected for them. They were out of the mix I wanted but good to know that online ordering is available. I felt like the prices were reasonable for the product. This was my first time hearing of this brand. I was so thrilled to see another location of Proper Popcorn because ya never know when a popcorn craving will hit! And this isn't just any old popcorn, but packed full of flavor and very gourmet and unique. Speaking of flavor, they have a huge variety of options, all of which you can sample. See something on the menu board that's not prepared behind the glass partition? They will head into the back and make it for you. I know I mentioned that you CAN sample, but I needed to say that you SHOULD sample prior to buying. We have gone in several times and bought way too large of a container of the sweet favors. The birthday cake flavor and take-6 are favorites in my house, but they are extremely rich and a little goes a long way. The savory flavors (I love the extra cheddar!) seem to go stale faster, since they don't have the same hard outer coating of the chocolate or caramel covered kind. However, the salty flavors go much quicker in my household of five. We get a snack size of sweet and small of salty and they last several days. Don't forget to take a look at their fun products along the wall for gifts and stocking stuffers. For a larger selection of these goodies, check out their spacious location off Kingston Pike. Was on my hit list to stop here. So glad we did. I have been following them online for quite some time. Loved everything in this store. The store was very organized and they had ample help to assist customers. With all the flavors you are sure to find something you like. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't try any of the samples as I knew I was getting salted caramel with the chocolate drizzle. SO SO amazing! I would drive back just for this. And someday I will. This place is heaven on earth. Worth visiting for the smells alone. They have probably at least 10 different savory flavors (cheddar, jalapeño, ranch) and 10 different sweet flavors (caramel praline, birthday cake, BANANA PUDDING!!). I ended up with a bag of birthday cake and my mom got "zebra" (caramel with white and milk chocolate.) We asked a LOT of questions for two people who were just buying popcorn. The employee was extremely helpful and patient. He offered very generous sized samples, too! The prices are reasonable. The "snack" size was around $9, and the bag is WAY bigger than I was expecting. There's probably enough for at least 6-8 people to have a snack, especially considering how rich it is. I was really glad we stopped in! read more

The movie theater popcorn was SO good, when we started eating it we immediately regretted getting a small. The other flavor we bought was dark chocolate sea salt, and that is amazing too! Next time we're in Knoxville, we'll definitely stop by. I'm sure their other flavors are fantastic, too! They also carry a nice selection of bottled sodas and novelties. Really cute little popcorn shop with additional sweets and things to buy. They're super nice and let you try the popcorn flavors that are in store. You can mix and match your flavors as long as they are in the same category but I wish you could mix and match sweet and savory flavors and just pay for the higher price. We got to sample their candy popcorn and at first I didn't like it because it was really sweet but as I munched on it while deciding on which flavor to buy, I grew to like it. We wanted to mix and match their sweet and savory because the sweet flavors were really sweet and we couldn't see ourselves finishing a bag and didn't want to waste any food or money so we opted for some homestyle popcorn instead which was still really good! Overall super cute shop and would recommend checking out! I can definitely see them getting orders for wedding part favors because that would be super cute too read more

Adorable store with great staff- s'mores popcorn is incredible! The samples were delish and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

I just have to say that the popcorn variety offered including specialty popcorn is excellent. If it wasnt for Jordan greeting me outside and talking me into trying it I would not be a regular buying 3 or more times a week. The counter girls are friendly and enthusiastic.
