Hired this company after reading all the 5 star reviews. Very disappointed in quality of work. Front yard concrete, put in by owner himself was to be exposed aggregate to blend in, but wasn't. Wasn't going to have him remove it and have all that material wasted. Backyard concrete cracked within weeks....ALL OF IT. Cracks are only getting worse. Owner told us it was because we put in a hot tub. No, cracks appeared prior to this! Every slab has cracks! The irrigation system was poorly installed with no clamps so we were naturally having multiple blowouts. Who puts in the irrigation control wall panel at ankle height? We had to have that moved. Specific trees were ordered and I told owner where they could be purchased, but instead, wrong items planted not once, but twice!! Had to have them back out to fix irrigation when we noticed the center of lawn was dying. Why? Because the irrigation system they installed, didn't reach the center of the yard!! Unbelievable! Then I got a bill to have that fixed, however after a couple attemps of contacting, they did absorb it. (I didn't pay over 100k to have the irrigation system not cover the entire front lawn!) The retaining wall was put in correctly. Very disappointed and obviously they don't stand behind the work they do. The concrete will need to be removed and redone in the near future. Hired to put in a new pond, excellent and I love it. Hired to clean up front yard which is only a large flowerbed, no lawn, excellent job! Hired to do monthly yard upkeep , trimming, weeding, no mowing. Hired to come twice a month. Service was POOR. They spent only about twenty minutes each time and really only did anything if I went out and asked them to do some trimming. I paid 289 dollars a month because of a contract that I agreed to but was not upheld on the company's part. I called once and was greeted by a not too polite woman who was to ask Jarod to call me. No call. I wrote to him and stated my dissatisfaction, no response. Then they have the nerve to bill me for the month of December when no one showed up. My neighbor's have a camera on my yard which shows no one came to prepare my yard for winter. I would never recommend Proscape for yard work. Don't ask anyone to have me call, it does no good. A visit to my property is in order. read more

Pro suggests Professional. These guys are far from professional. Typically, there is no supervisor, which means no one to make sure that they have picked up the litter of the job, no one has swept up piles of dirt and debris, no one has shut any gate, no one to notice that they've turned grass into mud, or when plants are concerned they have been cared for properly. I had photos to share, but this site doesn't allow that. ProScapes was directed to prune. They hacked/slaughtered the beautiful small trees (strawberry tree and a small bay tree). Just chopped the top straight off and anything else they could cut. Leaving, sticks and a few leaves. Pruning is something that needs a little knowledge. One should cut the shrub or tree at a joint and study the growth and shape of the plant to decide where to cut. Not these guys, just hack, hack, hack. Right away, they destroyed my astilbe when weeding. They built a ridiculous raised bed for the garbage cans. Absurd. If you just want concrete poured or a deck repaired and don't mins a mess, these are your guys. Any plants involved find someone else. read more

I searched high and low for someone to install an irrigation system at my house on Whidbey Island. There is literally not a single company on the island. Thankfully I found Proscapes in Anecortes and they were willing to come to South Whidbey. I am thrilled with them! It was super easy to schedule an on site consultation. I receive a quote the next day and they started work within a couple of days. The entire team was super knowledgeable, professional, and did excellent work. It was a huge job and they finished it in a very timely manner. I highly recommend Proscapes! Like every other service in the area, they claim great things, but all they do is rake (or blow) planting beds, sort of edge, mow, and blow the hard surfaces. They've been non responsive to requests for better service. They promised fertilization and week killing, but they fail to do it, and leave trash and debris, and dead plants behind. Hire a couple of high school boys, you'll get a better value for your money. read more

Was recommended by realtor, signed a year residential contract. First crew was dreadful; yelled at each other angrily; couldn't tell us anything at all about the plants, when to trim etc; one outright rude to my wife. To their credit, gave us a different crew - who were nice guys. But just mow and blow. Were supposed to receive 36 visits per contract year. Didn't show with at the agreed frequency. Not worth the premium price. Did not renew their contract. read more

STAY AWAY FROM PROSCAPES! This is a horrible company to deal with. They requested me to sign a one-year contract with them. What a mistake! During that time they did not come at all for two months but they charged me dearly. They supposed to notify me of the date and time one day before the service but they never did. If they came it was whenever they pleased. They supposed to trim the branches of my fruit trees. They never did and my fruit trees broke. They've been nonresponsive to requests for better service. Never trimmed my roses claiming it has to be done in May. What a joke! Those two girls in the office are super rude thinking they are God's gift to this world! read more

I was looking for a reputable fencing company along with my neighbor as we were splitting the cost. We got a couple of bids and they were a few hundred higher than the other company so of course I wanted to go with the lower bid. My neighbor said well I know Jerod and they will do a good job. I never met Jerod as he was never one of the guys who came out to work. Long story shortened up a bit. They used a lot of bad wood which I asked to be replaced. Fence was pt up in Feb 2019, I repeatly had to ask them to come and replace the many pieces of bad wood. By the time they got around to doing it summer was over and the fence had bad staining patterns on it. I had told my neighbor I would like for them to stain it when they got done building it. She said they told her it would be better to wait a few months so the wood could dry out. So by the time summer got here the fence was badly stained in many places from what they said was the treated wood running onto the cedar boards. Therefore it would all need to be sanded before staining. Jerod assigned this task to Rich who repeatedly did not show up when scheduled And by the time he did it was late Oct. he was charging me 379.00 just to stain this one section of fence across the back of my lot, maybe 60 feet and only on my side. End results was he stained it and it took 3-4 times of him showing up to finish what could've been done in a few hours. He didn't remove the stains by sanding as promised so the stain I bought wouldn't cover. He then told me I would have to go pick out a solid color stain so it wouldn't show. There was still a marred up 2x4 that they didn't replace I noticed after it finally got stained late in October. I called Jerod and said I'm not paying the invoice you sent me until this is done. Finally late December he said he would have Rich come out and fix that. He did. It was a nightmare and hassle to say the least. I wouldn't recommend this company for fence construction. read more

Jerod showed up on time and listened carefully then his estimate was nicely written with all proper points and a fair job price. The crew showed up on time to start. When mistakes were found, they were very slow to have things corrected. We requested an alteration in a second spot, and Jerod said "that's a stupid idea"! The VP once came out, inspected and apologized. The job is still unfinished, it was started over a month ago and we've been told they're coming out to finish on a certain day and they never showed up. That's happened twice. I called Proscapes for an estimate on a landscape design project. Jerod came out right away and provided a written estimate. It was much more ambitious that I could afford, but we were able to work together to provide a more affordable solution. Jerod scheduled his crew right away and they worked through the wind and rain to complete the project in a few days. Very efficient, professional and reliable. My husband and I just had ProScapes Inc do some fall cleanup in our Bellingham yard. ProScapes told me that three men would be here to leaves cleaned up and work on the beds. Two men showed up hours later than I expected and did a lousy job. They don't move very fast. My husband and I can normally clean up the leaves and beds in about 2-2 1/2 hours. It took them over 4 hours and they did not get as much done and did a poor job. They also broke a few of my yard décor, a bird bath and others. I would not recommend them to anyone. I will never have them do work on my property again. I will also make a point to tell others NOT to use them. read more

After contacting this company to get a patio design/proposal, Jarod cancelled on us once and then had someone else show up at our house (we weren't home) the day of our second appointment with no idea we already had an appointment with Jarod at noon, Jarod never called to tell us he was unavailable again and sent and irrigation specialist for a patio proposal over to "measure". How an irrigation specialist was going to give us design ideas etc I have no idea. After manipulating my schedule for the third time, I finally met with Jarods irrigation guy who was embarrassed about his boss's inability to communicate. Jarod appears "to be too big for his britches", hey duh Jarod, everyones time is important. It's a no go... read more

While Proscapes may do a great job with rockery/flagstone/driveway projects, they failed to live up to our expectations for a landscaping job. We were looking for a thorough cleanup of our landscaping and Jerod originally came in high on his bid, but agreed to match the lowest bid to get the job. His crew on the first day did a solid days work on one side of our property, but then subsequently failed to finish the job description. In the end, we had to have his crew come out an additional three times but the job was still not completed in accordance with the bid. Specifically, they failed to remove all the ground cover around trees and bushes as well as actually weeding (they simply trimmed everything to the ground and left the roots, thus everything simply started growing back a week later). When asked about the weeding specifically, Jerod's response was that getting rid of the roots would have been a higher cost, even though the bid specifically stated "all beds will be weeded". (Isn't the definition of "weeding" to remove roots?) Also, found out after all this that a friend's neighbor hired Proscapes to do some work and sprayed along a shared fence line for weeds. It ended up killing a swath of grass in her backyard with no resolution to date. Overall, while maybe they do outstanding work for patio's or driveways, we will certainly never recommend them and will look elsewhere for future jobs. read more
