Roosevelt balcony

We stayed in the Roosevelt room (balcony overlooking trees and the main road). I had REALLY hoped to see some spirits but unfortunately, no ghostly visits. That's ok! My honey and I enjoyed a delicious dinner of wine and lasagna (uuhhm YUMMY!) and found the room and bed incredibly clean and cozy. The bed was also incredibly comfortable, and I loved the retro decor. It felt so homey and ....yeah, homey! It felt like I was sleeping over at grandma's house and that just brought me joy. I can't wait to visit again! A historic site in an absolutely stunning corner of Oregon. Waterfalls and easy trails through the stunning trees...just be prepared to battle mosquitoes!

Not the best photo but this breakfast was one of the tastiest meals we had while in Oregon.

While touring my way through Oregon, I stumbled upon this hotel because it was the closest place available to Crater Lake National Park. I called about availability and Dre answered. She was extremely helpful when I told her that we were hiking a couple of trails before we would head to Prospect, she told me about the trails next to the hotel and suggested we check them out. They were breathtaking! I chose to stay in the motel behind the hotel so that we could have our own beds. It still had a box TV and the same digital alarm clock and art that I had in the 80s. The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were so beautiful and has one of the biggest redwood trees that I've seen. We did eat dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was great. Dre was such a joy to visit with and made so many recommendations of things to see that we attempted to do them all. When I go back to Oregon, I will definitely stay here again.

Clean very friendly people, very nice relaxing view it has a few waterfalls near by, has air conditioning in the back rooms, went there with my family of 4, I wish the bed were softer

Delicious salmon!

My wife and I stayed here a few years ago and it was a perfect distance from Crater Lake, which was great. The owners and staff were very kind and the dinner we had was fantastic! (we had steak and salmon). Dinner was better than breakfast, but that happens. Our room was clean and quiet, but we had no control over the temperature in our room, which was unfortunate since it was July. It was an overall nice place to stay and it was a great jumping point to Crater Lake!

They accommodated my Paleo diet. The meat sauce is very good

Ask the Community - Prospect Historic Hotel and Dinner House

Do they have a bar?

Yes, getting a drink is easy. We found that there was a wide variety during dinner, then we were able to get a couple beers and take them out on the porch to drink and and enjoy the evening.

We stayed in cabin number 20 right behind the main building, maybe 60 feet from the union Creek, which was wonderful atmosphere. The entire property was lovely, very peaceful, and we wish we were staying longer. Wonderful small trails directly from the resort along union Creek and several along the Rogue river including the Rogue gorge, which is very close to the resort. Can't wait for my next visit here!

We stayed here to get away from the crowds near Crater Lake. Check in was simple at the Union Creek Lodge. The store and gift shop is well stocked with snacks, drinks, toiletries, trinkets, and such. Our cabin #12 was huge- way more space than the two of us needed, but I think it was a better option than a room at the Lodge or a one room cabin. Now, there was NO cell/wifi service in or around the campground unless you were at the Lodge. This didn't bother us, but make sure to have what you need downloaded or printed out ahead of time. The bugs were everywhere- ants, spiders, gnats, mosquitos. It was late July so that was to be expected. I don't mind them outside, it is when they are IN the cabin that I get a bit weirded out. I didn't feel comfortable opening the windows because there are no screens so that is just a welcome sign inviting more bugs. During the evenings we strolled around the campground, ate some pie from Beckies, and sat near the creek. Overall, we had a quiet and enjoyable time at the campground.

Happy to see a comfortable sized bedroom & bathroom. We're always happy to see no carpeting. smoking nor pets. Enjoyed the organic bath products. We heard the lull of traffic noise, but it wasn't bad, surely not city noise. There were not car alarms, noisy motorcycles nor the slamming of car doors. Our only issue was the lighting, our room felt very dark. The back windows looked out on a trailer park and the front out onto the road and parking lot, so we couldn't open the blinds.

Very overdue review: We stayed here this past summer and had such a great impression of the place - The fact that I still remember that we wanted to share our experience 6 months later is a testament to how great it was! The room was spotless, very comfortable, and even had little amenities like packaged soaps and shampoos, which was way more than I was expecting given the very affordable price. It's a bit of a drive from Crater Lake if you're coming to visit that, but definitely worth it over the expensive, isolated hotels closer to the lake (which were all swarming with mosquitos!). To top everything off, we had some car trouble the morning we were supposed to leave and the owners were so nice and helpful throughout the entire stressful experience. They let us wait in our room as long as they could let us after our checkout time while roadside assistance came and told us we were welcome to snack on the cherries from their beautiful cherry tree they had out front. What ended up saving us was the fact that they're very conveniently right next to an auto parts store which had exactly the tools we needed (very long story, but roadside assistance didn't end up helping). Highly recommend!

The outside areas are amazing and our toddler loved walking through the field and outside eating space. The inside space was very interesting with museum areas explaining rooms and the history on the inn. The food was ok, nothing amazing but pretty good. There's not much around Wolf Creek (unless you go 20 miles south to Grant Pass) so this IS the best food around. Again, staff were great and the accommodations were comfortable. The Inn is historic and beautiful and Jack London's room was so fun to see as I fell in love with reading Jack London's stories. I enjoyed the history of the Inn, the fact that there are no televisions, the patio and balcony for guest night t to mention the games and puzzles and tables in the room where I could work on my travel art journal. Peaceful, tranquil, and in a hey setting, the Wolf Creek Inn is a place I would come back to. The restaurant/tavern is good and we ate all of our meals here. The wedge salad, Cuban sandwich and the biscuit breakfast sandwich with sausage were our favorites. Everyone is incredibly accommodating and nice who works there and we even got to chat with several of the other guests because it is a small and intimate place. When my husband and I ordered a mixed drink not on the menu, Nancy was happy to mix it up for us. When we asked for recommendations for places to walk, we got some amazingly beautiful walks within the area. If I'm ever back here, I would be overjoyed to stay again! Thank you for a relaxing pause on our vacation!

Similarly, the dining was nice but priced way above value. I guess they're the only game in town (or on the river) so they price that way, but I'd rather see pricing correlated to value or service, not just because they are catering to the well-to-do's.

We stayed in one of the Hideaway Cottages, tucked into a peaceful wooded setting just a half mile from the Inn. The cottage was quiet, comfortable, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to unwind after a full day of hiking. After settling in, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Inn's restaurant. Dining outdoors beside the beautiful North Umpqua River was an unforgettable experience. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, the food was excellent, and the friendly, attentive service made for a relaxing and memorable evening. The only drawback to an otherwise exceptional stay was the complete lack of internet access. We understand that many guests appreciate the opportunity to disconnect from the modern world, and there is certainly something refreshing about being off the grid. However, as hikers exploring the area, we would have appreciated having at least limited Wi-Fi access--perhaps in the registration lobby--so we could download offline trail maps and check hiking conditions before heading out each morning. That small convenience would have made an already wonderful experience nearly perfect. Overall, Steamboat Inn is a beautiful retreat in one of Oregon's most scenic locations. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, outstanding dining, and a relaxing atmosphere, this is an excellent choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return on a future visit. Mike & Debbie
