I recently saw people on social devouring vodka sauce pizzas. I love vodka sauce but didn't know this pizza style is a trending and growing popular choice. So, of course, I was craving it all week long and found this pizzeria near us in Oakland Park. Well, they offer a lot of pie options and also subs. We ordered a traditional large pepperoni and a smaller, 12-inch chicken vodka sauce pizza which simply has mozzarella cheese, vodka sauce and chicken. Although they got to us cold, they were both NY-style delicious! We popped the slices in the oven and not one was left over. Perhaps the next order will be delivered on time and ready to eat, but we will certainly not give up on Prospect because of a one-off. read more

Ordered on the ChowNow app. It was my first time using the app. I found it very easy to use. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall with ample parking. My pizza was ready when I arrived. The search for great pizza continues. If there was an option for 3.5 stars I would give it, so 3 stars it is. The sauce and cheese are tasty and good quality. The pie was too thin and the crust was not poofy or pillowy with a crunch like we like it. I would also like to comment on the size. We ordered a 16 inch, which is the largest size. It did not seem large at all. It's slim pickings for pizza in Florida. We will keep looking. read more

2000th REVIEW MILESTONE... In a hard decision for my long awaited glorified 2000th Yelp review, I decided to hunt through all social media platforms to find pizza shop review ratings above 4.5 stars, which for a pizzeria is not common. After a diligent search, one captured my attention in Fort Lauderdale called Prospect Pizzeria, which was not on my radar, although have heard the name. The shop is positioned at the center of an older plaza with an array of retail stores and eateries. It seems like a local establishment with residential housing, rental apartments and warehouses heavily dominating the immediate area. Based on my pre-arrival research, I knew they sold pizza by the slice, which sometimes makes or breaks the small mom & pop businesses. If the slice is fantastic, I would return for a full pizza at a later date. Parking was simple, directly in front of the business. Passed by the small two seat metal table on the patio and entered with high anticipation of a fabulous slice based on the reviews. The pizza chef greeted me and removed a pre-made cheese pizza from the counter. As he prepared to cut a slice, he oddly began picking something off the pizza with his Bare Fingers, which instantly freaked me out, but against my better judgement, I looked past that infraction and told him I wanted a different slice from the pizza. He stared at me with a flabbergasted gaze and said that he was not sure what he was picking at and agreed to cut me another slice. He tossed a mega slice of pizza into the oven. I went to the rear bar where I paid the cashier $4.00, which is the perfect price for this bohemoth slice of pizza. The thin slice was ready within a few minutes, which aside from the uncommon generous size, had a well done crispy edge, balanced bubbling and a nicely chared undercarriage. Thanked the chef and sat outside to hopefully enjoy my slice. The first bite made me smile and instantly thought that those high rated reviews were spot on. Absolutely PHENOMENAL PIZZA and not exaggerating at all. The bathroom was spotless with artsy brass mosaic wall decor with a simple plant on the sink counter establishing a calming effect. FYI: Although the door handle had a working locking mechanism, there was a tiny door stopper at the bottom, which caused me some unnecessary grief. About an hour later, I was bragging about the excellent experience that I proudly concluded to my very vocal mother-in-law. Based on my detailed description, she told me to go back to the pizzeria and order a full onion pizza for pick up - and she would foot the bill of $25.00. She did not have to coerce me to quickly make the phone order. Without intentionally trying to give her whiplash, I made an abrupt u-turn and drove ten minutes back to the business. The wife was in the back seat laughing about the whole situation. Finally, made it back and the pizza was ready, piping hot and looked awesome. Drove home and we began devouring the pizza, which was lightly dipped into ranch dressing, but really did not require additional flavoring. The purple onions complemented perfectly the tangy garlic sauce. The mother-in-law was elated by the taste of the pizza evident by the humming sounds while she chewed her first bite. I smiled and said, "I told you so". They offer twenty styles of pizza in addition to strombolis, calzones and gourmet salads for reasonable prices. Ordered a 16" onion and olive pizza for pick up and it was ready upon arrival. I'm into well-done thin pizzas which this is and hate the doughy type. "Convenience" fast, affordable, and best of all great food. Working thru diner we decided to order delivery Pizza, Prospect Pizza has positive reviews thru Yelp so I gave it a shot. Opened the Yelp App selected Prospect Pizza, ordered thru Yelp App made individual choices of toppings paid with credit card and Boom! Yelp App showed order placed, eta and notifications as the order traveled and arrived at the Hotel. I won the bet, everything was as we ordered and the delivery time was 30 minutes faster than the original eta time. Pizza was very warm tasty couldn't have asked for better service and food. The food is good. The Pizza is well made and bubbling when they handed it to me. This is my second time there. The Service is warm and friendly. The price is affordable. At lunch there are people constantly trickling in but no one eats in. Cozy is one way to describe it. It's tiny. I finally called Prospect directly and learned that the pizzas were ready, but I could not pick them up because they wouldn't be paid and were still waiting on a grubhub driver to be assigned. The pizzas finally arrived an hour later... needless to say the pizzas were room temperature at that point. I would not recommend anyone direct order through Yelp. Prospect Road is loaded with hole-in-the-wall restaurants that are five star worthy. Prospect Pizzeria is definitely one of those restaurants! Located in The Prospect Road Plaza, blink and you will miss it. Prospect Pizzeria does not take up much real estate. There is outdoor seating along with a sign posting one lunch special. An impressive line up lunch specials is located on their website. Once inside, you will see the place is cozy. Somewhere you would take a small family, friends, or a date. If you saw the photos, you saw the restaurant is CLEAN! A few pieces of art are on the walls. There is minimal seating right across from the prep area where two men are hard at work making your orders materialize. And more minimal seating at the end of the restaurant. There you can dine at the order counter, and have a wonderful conversation with the lovely woman who take the orders and delivers them. We are definitely about service. She will either greet you at the door or the order counter. Regarding the food, they know what they are doing! We had the Branzino lunch special, which included a choice of salad, garlic rolls, and a soda. They also add the salad dressing, parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper packets with it. As we said before, hole-in-the-wall restaurants owned by a private owner or a family, beat those big chain restaurants because they prepare their meals as if you are their family or close friends. The food and the staff at Prospect Pizzaria are great! It's a small place (5 tables and 3 chairs at the counter) with a lot of personality! The food is delicious! The pasta dishes are remarkable; each one more impressive than the other. Mmmm. Lots of special touched: toasted homemade garlic focaccia rather than the usual garlic bread. This place is great. Family owned and operated small but full of good food and heart. Great Pizza's friendly service clean atmosphere. It's a little shopping plaza so you could miss it if you're not paying attention. The only thing that I don't love about them as they don't have a much of a selection when it comes to alcoholic beverages. Most of their drinks are in a bottle or a can. But otherwise they're one of the best places around to go for pizza or a pasta dish and their desserts are fabulous. read more

I ordered a pizza slice, and a Mac n cheese, as a Mac n cheese enthusiast, I think that this is probably the worst Mac n cheese ever, if you even call it a Mac n cheese. It was litterally butter pasta, with sprinkled Parmesan, was very very very disappointed in that Mac n cheese. Mac n cheese rating is a 1.5/10; pizza slice rating classic cheese 6.7/10 was a little burnt but a solid pizza slice, workers are very nice and cool that's mostly why I gave a 3 star review. Today I ordered on-line, and paid on-line. I got the meatball sub. The bread was homemade panini, crusty on the outside and not too doughy inside. The meatballs are homemade and delicious, as is the tomato sauce. Not overwhelmed with cheese, which is fine for me. The owners are very friendly. The man used to be a chef at Casa De Angelo, so he's got great culinary experience. The dining room is small, but nicely renovated and very quiet and calming. I could see myself dining in for a nice sit-down meal. They said they are working on getting a liquorlicense, but until they do they said we could bring our own bottle of wine. If you are looking for a really good New York style pizza, this is the place. The crust is thin and crispy with really good flavor. The sauce is homemade and they use the best mozzarella cheese. If you like a good Philly style cheesesteak, look no further. The rolls are homemade and are delicious on their own. It's tough to feed 70 people with only a few hours notice but Prospect Pizza came through! The food was amazing! We ordered garlic knots, chicken wings, 10 pizzas, salads and several trays of pasta.
