We've been taking our dog, Appa, to Acme for about 6 months and she absolutely adores the space. The staff are super caring and the space is huge with both back and front areas. Appa has had a handful of photo shoots to celebrate the holidays and her birthday. Plus Instagram posts throughout the day. You can really tell how much they love and care for the dogs. Similar to other doggie daycare spots they have a live camera to check in on your dog. They're pretty meticulous with dropping off your dog and it's so the dogs can all enjoy the ample space. I took my dog Luna to Acme Dog Run for the first time two weeks ago for her trial and it was the best decision I've made! This was the first dog daycare I tried and I love it. When I first signed Luna up, I got a very useful email about the next steps which was a 3 hour trial that I needed to schedule. When I scheduled, I got another useful email with instructions on drop off and pick up. I love how organized everything is and there's no guessing with anything. There's also an app available where you can watch the live cameras if you're nervous about your dog's first day at daycare or anything. I'm so comfortable with having her at Acme Dog Run and love that I see updates on the app and even on Instagram. You have the option of keeping your dog there for a half day (5 hours or less) for $35 or a full day (5+ hours) for $46. By far, the best doggy daycare in NYC! We've been coming to Acme for almost a whole year now, and we are so lucky to have Acme in the neighborhood. We absolutely love it and would highly recommend anyone in Brooklyn that's looking for a doggy daycare to check them out. Everyone there loves pups and treats them so well. They're extremely patient and stay engaged with all the pups the entire time your dogs are there. Our two dogs Lion and Hanbao are alway nervous with new people, and Acme has been so patient with them and really helping them get better at socializing. You can tell that the people at Acme clearly loves dogs as they volunteer on the weekends hosting adoption events. The facility is amazing. It's huge, with so much space to run. There are two different sections in case dogs need to be separated. There's also two sets of stairs that go up to an upper level, for the pups that love stairs. It's also amazing that dogs are always free/off-leash and no crating at all! They also have a great online system where you can purchase packages (discounts!), make reservations, and watch live video feeds to check in on your pups throughout the day. Also every day they post amazing pictures and videos on their Instagram @acmedogrun. Our pups Lion and Hanbao love going there. Sometimes on walks in the neighborhood, they'd start pulling us in the direction towards Acme! Recently we needed to board our dogs for about a week (as we gave birth to our first human baby) but because of the current pandemic, Acme was unable to do boarding. Our miniature poodle has been coming here for about 2 years. He absolutely loves it! He is so excited to see the staff at Acme and to interact with his friends! The folks there at Acme run a tight ship and really care about the well-being of your furry baby. All the dogs run around and play all day in these two huge rooms in a warehouse setting. Acme provides daily photo updates on Instagram and they use a user-friendly website for you to book daycare sessions (half or full day). Additionally, throughout the day, you can view your dog's activities via a webcam for the front and back rooms. I highly recommend Acme for your dog! Now, as soon as we turn on 6th street, she all but yanks me down the street to get to the door and can't wait to run inside! The team is so wonderful with the dogs - they are great about balancing active time with resting time, and are always tuned in to the pups to make sure everyone is happy and safe. I highly recommend Acme! Even though most of us are working from home and don't necessarily need day care right now, it's a great place for a little bit of socialization and fun for our pups! This very morning, (8/16/24), I bought my one year old dog (Apollo) for his three hour evaluation. I'll admit even though we arrived on time (10:00am) I had difficulty getting in because my QR scanner apt wasn't working properly. My dog came from the shelter system, when we walked in I immediately felt coldness and stress in the place. The barking dogs in the background only added to that negative vibe. The man who buzzed us in at 10:02am told us, "already this is not working", he looked stress and angry. I dropped off my dog and not even five minutes later I was called to come and get my dog. According to "Mr. Personality" my dog tried to bite him and failed the evaluation. My dog was in the shelter system in Arkansas we adopted him, when he was three months old, from a very stressful environment, we love him, he's our baby boy and have provided him with a loving home. The way we were received this morning and immediately let go was very disappointing and unprofessional. read more

I can't say enough great things about this daycare and recommend it to everyone I speak to. The staff are absolutely amazing. My dog, Harry, generally hates when I leave but he is always SO excited to go see his dog and human friends at Acme. I credit the staff here so much for helping my dog with his separation anxiety and helping with important socialization in his early puppy days. Honestly, my dog's happiness to go there is selling point enough for me, but their facilities and social media are the cherry on top. The space is huge and they clearly do a great job of managing the dogs throughout the day. They have live webcams running at all times and I am constantly refreshing their Instagram in the evenings for their end of day photos - even if my dog isn't at daycare that day, I love looking at their amazing photos. 10/10 doggie daycare. Acme Dog Run is the absolute best!! I have been sending my pup, Frankie, for a year now and could not recommend it enough. Frankie spends at least one day per week at Acme.. sometimes two when she's a lucky pup! Every time I drop her off, I know she will have a fun-filled day with her friends and she is being cared for by some awesome humans... gives me the ultimate peace of mind to go about my day. When we moved to Park Slope I wanted to find a daycare where Frankie could run around and burn her puppy energy. We took a few trips to the local dog park, but she was shy and intimidated by some of the larger dogs. It was more challenging than I expected to find someplace that was bigger than a store front... until I found Acme! Frankie was a total wallflower her first few times at Acme, but once she got used to being away from home and got comfortable, she became obsessed. The dogs have more than enough room to run around all day, wrestle, and chase tennis balls. The front area can be sectioned off from the back, which helps them to separate any pups that may need it and also for smooth pick-up/drop-off. The humans of Acme (Matt & Sara-Sun) are incredibly attentive and on top of everything going on, making sure that all of their furry friends have a fun and, most importantly, safe place to come play every day. They make sure all of the dogs are socialized through a trial period before they are able to fully enroll, and make sure the dogs are up to date on their vaccinations. They also have live camera feeds so you can check in on your buddy throughout the day. However, the best part of the day is every night when Acme's instagram posts a bunch of pictures/videos of your dog having the best day ever. I could not recommend Acme enough. If you and your pup have ever bumped into me and Frankie around the neighborhood, we probably have already sung Acme's praises.. but if not, definitely go check them out. We recently used Acme Dog Run for over night boarding when we went out of town for the weekend and I can not recommend them enough!! Unlike other places around town, Acme is 100% cage free and has a hugggee indoor space for pups to romp around in. I loved that I could check in on them any time of day with the 24 hour webcam and that they were always supervised no matter the hour. We've been fans of ACME since shortly after they opened- we've used them for half- and full-day daycare as well as drop-in dog run/play time. They would be our top choice for local boarding as well, and we'll likely use them for overnights the next time a need arises. Why do we love them? 1. The space. This is what first caught our eye. While not as large as prospect park's meadows, obvs, it's larger than most fenced dog runs in brooklyn and probs manhattan as well. There is also a mezzanine with steps that the dogs use during particularly hearty romps. There are little separate pens when a partic dog needs a time-out to calm down (my own dog occasionally benefits when she gets a little hyper/hyper focused on play when other dogs want to take naps or chill). It's wide-open, with great visibility. It's clean and easy to keep clean. 2. The staff. The space caught our eye, but the staff is what sold us and keeps us coming back. Top f*cking notch, y'all. Welcoming, warm, and *great* with dogs. Even the best, most well-appointed facility would not be worth a dollar if the people who staff it don't care for dogs, don't understand dogs and how they play, or can't read the dynamic of escalating energy. The staff at ACME is *fantastic*. They really get to know each dog, and respond to each dog as an individual. I evaluate teachers as part of my job, and they remind me of great teachers-- they know when to roll with energy and when to nip it in the bud. They know when to play and when to be firm. They know when to be a friend and when to be a boss. And they know that what that looks like with any given dog might be different. Low turnover and consistent staffing means that at any given point, there is someone watching the dogs who really knows the personalities and quirks of all the regulars, knows when to step in and when to just let 'em wrassle. They're great w people, too ;-) -- i have a ton of respect for the staff here. I know it can be hard to trust your best friend to other people-- but we trust them, and feel fully confident recommending them to others b/c of the staff. 3. The dog-run option. Too cold out? Too hot? Too muddy? Cool- ACME is still perfectly comfortable and 100% mud-free. Play fetch w your pup and a group of lovable canine buddies at ACME instead! Tire them out for 2 hours and then go home, skip the bath, and go straight to chill mode! 4. Webcams & photos! To my knowledge, ACME is the only dog daycare/ boarding/ run in the vicinity that has 24/7 webcams for registered visitors AND stunning (/adorable / hilarious) dog photos every day. Want proof? Check their Instagram. You know how i said the staff loves dogs and really gets a sense of each dog's personality? It's true, and even the pictures they take show this. And the webcams are just fun (and probs helpful to dog owners who are new to separating from their dogs and would like to keep tabs or peek) There are lots of great options for dogs and their people in south brooklyn, i know, but for dogs with a lot of energy to burn, and for whom running and wrestling and games are necessary for good health, ACME is really the best in the area, as far as I'm concerned. Oh, also: rates are fair and parking is usually pretty decent, particularly on weekends and holidays when the adjacent businesses are closed. We love them and are pretty sure you will, too. I cannot say enough good things about ACME. I adopted my dog Ginks in September of 2020. We had a little bit of a rough adjustment period when he first arrived and I was nervous to even take him to a daycare facility bc he was so sensitive and scared around new people, dogs + places. We would go for 2+ hour walks everyday but he would still cry of boredom when he was alone with me - it was overwhelming. The employees at ACME helped him warm up + move at his own pace until he felt comfortable to socialize with other the other dogs. Since his first visit in November, he is a completely different pup. He is happy, confident, more relaxed at home, at the park, and around other people. It has honestly transformed his behavior and our relationship and I'm so grateful for all that they have done. Ginky now pulls on his leash whenever we're a few blocks away from ACME + howls with excitement as soon as he walks through the door, he loves it there. PLUS they post amazing videos + photos everyday, host Hearts & Bones foster picks ups, food drives, and other incredible events which really help build community. The absolute BEST place to bring your dog! I cannot imagine bringing my dog anywhere else - I also couldn't imagine trusting someone who isn't my family to watch my dog but Acme has my full trust. The staff is fully committed to making sure the dogs have both a safe and fun time. Best part? They have live cameras in their daycare! When I drop my dog off I eagerly wait for their Instagram posts because they are so adorable of the dogs playing. Even when my dog isn't there I love to see their instagrams. There is always at least two people with the dogs at all times, sometimes they even go the extra mile to separate the dogs into two rooms throughout the day to welcome new pups or separate the more active & anxious dogs. My dog comes home so SO happy and tired after a day at Acme! I can't recommend this place enough. I'm SO happy I found Acme. Our pup Murphy is so social and wants to play with other doggies all day long, which is challenging when both my partner and I work all day, not to mention Covid which makes indoor dates impossible! Acme is the best!! We have a shy, nervous pup (rescue) who doesn't reallllly like doggy daycare. He prefers humans to dogs and to be by himself. We've tried several daycares in the area and Acme has been by FAR the best for him! He actually lays down and relaxes there, and he's even played with other pups a few times!! Also importantly, the humans themselves play with the dogs. some other daycares rely on the dogs to entertain themselves, but when you have a human-oriented dog, you need that interaction! The space is gigantic, and there are two rooms that they keep separated for a lot of the day depending on if they're doing temperament tests, or cleaning one of the rooms, etc. They do an excellent job using the rooms to separate dogs out by *energy level*. A lot of places do it by dog size, but Acme takes the dogs personality and needs into consideration. My pup is often a "front room" dog where its calmer and more restful, which is absolutely perfect for his temperament, and he's surrounded by other dogs that are the same. They do have live cameras on both the back & front room so pup parents can check (errrr obsessively watch?) your dog during the day. Also - their Instagram game is strong. I get SO excited in the evening when they post -- and they post a ton of photos!! read more

I wish I could give Acme Dog Run even less than one star. As you can tell from their website, they require a 3 hour trial session before you can start scheduling daycare sessions. After our trial I asked how everything went and they said fine and I started booking daycare sessions thereafter. Everything seemed to be going well, dropped him off for daycare there about once a week. Then today 2 hours after I drop off my dog, and while I'm about to jump on a call for work, I get a text saying I have to come pick up my dog bc there's been a "scuffle". They refuse to give me any details over text saying it was "better to talk when I got there." I get there and I'm told that my dog "hasn't been doing well in there", and that he's essentially been annoying other dogs and is extremely energetic. I see my dog has two bite marks on his head, one that's broken through the skin. Their worker repeatedly said that my dog wasn't listening to cues and that the other dog indicated it did not want to play; however, that does not make it acceptable for that dog to injure my dog. They kept blaming my dog even though my dog was not the aggressor and was being overly playful. They allowed the dog to stay and my dog had to leave. If I would've known there were tense times during these sessions and other dogs were getting angered I would not have continued bringing my dog there. It was all handled in such a poor way, we received no warnings at all along the way. Also a little unsettling to know that dogs who bite aren't removed from daycare, so keep that in mind if you leave your pet there. Buyer beware... read more

Acme is hands down the best daycare facility around. My dog has had poor experiences at two different daycares in our immediate neighborhood so I thought we'd travel further and give one more a try--and I am so glad we did. Many other daycares are run like a business first: cram as many dogs as possible into a small space and ignore minor behavior problems until they escalate. But not Acme. They have made sure to only allow dogs who know how to socialize and communicate properly, and the facility is big enough that everyone has space to stay safe and below threshold. The staff here really know what they're doing and have created a relaxing, positive environment where all the dogs truly mesh together as one pack. When I check in on the cameras I see my dog totally relaxed and comfortable in his space, happy to interact with other chill dogs like him. And the humans are great too! At other facilities I've seen staff frequently yelling at the dogs and using punitive measures. At Acme it's all snuggles and photo ops--there's no need for corrective measures because the dogs are all on the same wavelength. I'm not sure if the Acme team realizes what a wonderful thing they've created, but it has been an immensely positive addition to my dog's life and I would recommend it to anybody. read more

Acme Dog Run is pawsome! I took my puppy Beau when he was five months old to socialize and give him some time away from home to avoid any separation anxiety. Acme is by far the best doggy daycare I've ever come across. Their weekday opening time of 7am has been a lifesaver for my work schedule! If it weren't for the happy barks greeting you as soon as you enter you wouldn't immediately know it was a dog run-it is that clean. As others mentioned, being able to watch your pup on their cameras allows you to feel completely confident that your dog is well-cared for and having a ball. Thrilled to have Acme in the neighborhood. Owners are terrific, and booking online has always been easy and problem free. We've booked well in advance and last minute and never a hiccup. What I especially like is how you can see, via the webcams, that the dogs don't just aimlessly wander around for the session. There are several employees keeping the flow going and engaging them with balls and toys and actively keeping the atmosphere just how you'd want it. I also appreciate that they have a trial session to determine if a dog is a good fit for it, so you can be confident that it's a good group of dogs you're leaving yours with. Ours loves going to Acme, and she knows when we say "Acme" what that means :) and when we walk in its direction she gets excited. I am truly astonished by this experience. I brought in my one-year-old rescue Pitbull pup for a trial session, which was supposed to last three hours. He had been to daycare previously and we never received any kind of negative feedback. We have also been to dog parks and he has always been playful and friendly with other dogs. They texted me after 20 MINUTES that I needed to come back and pick him up. Based on how quickly they told me to return, I assumed that something terrible had happened, that he had hurt someone or had been hurt. Instead, I arrived to be told that he "comes on too strong" and "isn't a good fit." 20 MINUTES. How do they expect a puppy to behave in a brand new environment, surrounded by other dogs? I can't help but wonder if they would've let him stay longer if he were a Golden Retriever instead of a Pitbull. I am curious to know if others have experienced breed discrimination here, as I really do not believe 20 MINUTES is sufficient to give an animal a chance to acclimate to a new environment. The space is absolutely huge, with enough room to play lots of fetch and and comfortably run around and play without the dogs running over each other. The folks who work there are incredibly attentive to the pups - always giving them attention and affection, and they're the only ones we've ever been to that have live-streaming cameras! I also love that they have little bunches of pillows dispersed throughout the sides/benches so they can rest too. We love Acme for our pup, Doc! Doc is an anxious guy who has had a rough year full of changes, and who doesn't love being in enclosed spaces with other dogs. We were getting desperate for him to get more energy out during the day and finding ourselves unable to meet his needs (we recently moved, he's having a hard time with it) and gave Acme a shot at the recommendation of a neighbor. Their space is basically a warehouse (I imagine it doesn't feel as "enclosed" as other daycares we've tried), and the staff have been AMAZING in making Doc feel comfortable. After a few days of him just observing the other dogs from a corner, he started to get up and play (!!!) and coming home a tired pup. We couldn't be more grateful to Acme for giving him a safe place to play and make friends! It's taken a weight off all of us, and Doc seems much, much happier and more relaxed. Acme is an amazing place to send your pup for day care. We send our 9 month old corgi twice a week and she has so much fun! She gets a full day of exercise and always comes home tired out with a huge smile on. I have nothing but immense praise to give Acme Dog Run! My 4-month-old pup had his trial session today (3 hours, $10USD) and from the moment I walked into the extremely clean space, I felt comfortable and happy leaving him there. There are SO many reasons why this is the BEST dog daycare in Brooklyn, but let me name three: (1) the playroom is gigantic. Honestly, you would not be able to get this square footage anywhere, except for maybe Prospect Park before 9 am. It consists of two huge rooms, pillows and elevated cots for pups to crash out on and some stairs to explore. Given the huge area, the dogs can really run around, play with each other, chase balls... It is always kept impeccably clean, which is impressive given the huge area. (2) the client on-line system is easy and helpful. It is a breeze to load documents, get receipts and notifications about vaccination expirations (my expensive vet doesn't even send me these). (3) the staff (or "wranglers") are simply the best. They are all incredibly engaged, walking around and playing with the dogs. The ratio of staff to dogs is like 4:1 (many times lower) and again, the wranglers I have seen have always been on their feet and active with all the dogs. While my dog is super social, he is a bit on the small size so it is comforting to know that there is a ton of caring vigilance when he is there. In addition to knowing that he is in good hands, he always comes home happy and v. tired. I have tried a few other places in Carroll Gardens and have been frustrated by the cramped quarters, dirty conditions, poor oversight (dogs that clearly were uncomfortable/anti-social/aggressive being stuck with any other dog that happened to be dropped off that day without any oversight).
