Passing thru, I had made reservations directly with the hotel two weeks ahead of time. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a friendly woman & we were provided the room that I requested for a reasonable price, in comparison to the chain hotels. Having read the reviews, I am happy with the very clean room which includes a safe, microwave, refrigerator, a table with two chairs should you want to bring food up, & a great desk for working. Several considerate additions that are rarely seen, if ever...we received two drink tickets for a complimentary drink at the casino, a toothbrush & toothpaste, several lollipops, earplugs & something that I've never seen, two bottles of wine with two wine glasses, $25/bottle which is a bit pricey but just the fact that they have it available & the convenience should you want it, 5*! The rooms are very quiet but people in the hall can get a little loud. We were on a 14 night road trip & we both agreed that this was the best room, including several higher priced, boring chain hotels & by far the BEST night's sleep, the bed & pillows were so comfy! There is no elevator but the stairs are broken up into two sets of 8 so it's not so hard should you want a 2nd floor room, we're in our early 70s. We ate at the Margarita's restaurant on site which serves Mexican & American food, reasonably priced, good service and food! I played in the casino for a bit, came away with an extra $30 & one gentleman won $1400 at one of the slot machines, so their machines do pay, there are no gaming tables. All in all, we would come back if we're ever passing thru again.

Cannot win here. Not us, anyway. Quoted us $168.00 for Sunday night, no events in town The clerk says they do not honor discounts on 'the day of'. Wtf

Pros: clean room, lots of space, comfy bed, safe, quiet, great TV, food tastes good, nice staff, nice gift shop, tooth paste & brush, ear plugs, popcorn, dog area, fantastic and interesting decor through out the property. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Cons: no elevator, very expensive food, restaurant charges for credit card use.

Absolutely fantastic!!! The rooms were so incredibly comfortable! Clean and cozy! Could NOT tell there was a smoking casino in the building! PLUS they give you each a free drink ticket. The female long haired thin blond ish bartender was amazing! Personality plus, she was a hoot! The casino games were fair. The staff was so helpful and friendly! We will never stay anywhere else when we come to Ely! I really can't say enough good things! The pink trees lit up at night is really pretty. There's tons of things to look at everywhere there! The Mexican restaurant was just ok to be honest. The fajitas had a tomato sauce..... very different, but it tasted ok. The tacos were nothing special at all either. BUT they did help with dietary restrictions.

    Steak

Good Mexican food and descent steaks too. Salsa was very good! Staff was very friendly.

This was a great overnight stop coming from Grand Junction, CO. on our way to Reno NV. Great casino property well kept, with great clean rooms at a reasonable price, good Mexican / Steakhouse, but I can't tip my hat to the Casino's Slot Play. I highly recommend the Prospector Hotel & Casino right off "The Loneliest Road In America" Highway 50 in Ely, Nevada.

Our non-water beverage was Athletic NA IPA. Dessert, Carrot Cake and Coffee. We split one plate and left the table feeling well-fed, not disturbingly stuffed. The pork chop was thick, tender and flavorful. The salad fresh and diverse, dressed to remind me of the former Evah's House of Steak. Brussels Sprouts, slightly steamed. dressed with balsamic vinegar. Scalloped potatoes mildly cheesy. Carrot Cake Big Slice, not over-iced or too suite. Coffee a strong Americano, steamed frothy. The Athletic was an interesting NA beer. Really Hoppy, strong pinyness, slightly bitter finish. Great choice for an occasion. May 9, 2026 - $92. Far better than dropping $50 in the slots snd having a burger later. Complimentary postcard.

The food truck is set right in the middle of the cabins that the owners also run, and the whole setup has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. There are two small patio areas where you can sit outside, rest after hiking, and enjoy the mountain air while eating something fresh and comforting. Sandra herself was an absolute pleasure to talk to. She shared parts of her story with me, a story of immigration, resilience, hard work, and success that genuinely warmed my heart. You can feel that this business was built with determination, hope, and a lot of love behind it. The food was excellent. We ordered chips and salsa, pork street tacos, and a chicken salad, and everything tasted fresh and homemade, care came through in every bite. Simple, authentic, sincere food done really well. After days of standard road-trip meals, this felt refreshing and personal in the best way. Overall, if you are in Baker after hiking or exploring Great Basin National Park, this is absolutely worth stopping for. Good food, kind people, and the kind of small business story that reminds you why local places matter.

The restaurant is located inside the hotel, but has its own walkway entrance from street side. Traditional original old school interior, has a certain charm to it, nothing fancy but clean, comfortable and plenty of space around you. This eatery is family run and operated, and the service is friendly and kind. I had several different family members wait on me or stop by my table to check on me during my meal and visit. I opted for the Chili Rellenos, a pair of beautifully prepared cheese filled rellenos with rice and beans, along with a lemonade. Served with a basket of house chips and two salsas. My entree was very good, the pablanos were nicy prepared and stuffed and breaded in a traditional manner. Flavorful and well seasoned, a solid choice if I like rellenos, this is a good plate. I enjoyed my meal at a relaxed pace and made to feel at home while there. A fair price with good service. Worth a visit and your support. 4 Stars recommended 01019

I started with dinner menu item # 8, 2 Chile Rellenos with flower tortillas, beans, and red rice. They serve bottled beer and drinks so I chose a Negro Modelo. For my second coarse I ordered the Chicken Mole. The mole sauce was wonderful. This time I chose the corn tortillas. I had a second beer. This is a family run business which has been here since 2023.
