Italian is not my preferred cuisine, but the first time I ate at this restaurant it was one of the most delicious experiences of my life. It was absolutely five star, and I don't even care about the price. If you read all of my reviews, you will understand that I always care about price, and this restaurant blew me away. The second time I ate there, I had brought friends upon my recommendation, and we were very disappointed by the service. Some of the servers here are phenomenal. They want to make your day, and they interact with you and they don't care about time frames, they're there to talk with you about your food and your dining experience and wine pairings and everything. Some of them are bald, shaven, middle-aged men who don't care about your experience at all. To me, as someone who has been a hiring manager in the past, it's strange that they don't have a little more quality control on the people that they hire, because some of them are awesome, and apparently some of them come across as total assholes. The ambience is curated and cute, and there are different rooms that you can die in with very different experiences, which I think really yields a positive repetition experience of the place. This is the second time visiting, and the first time we had great service at the bar by a younger lady, and the drinks + food were amazing! (We had brunch last time) This second time...our server was an older man, and he had such an attitude the whole time. We had a party of 15 but were expecting 20 - when we told him 5 people couldn't come he was so mad. He was telling us "well that's how he (the other server) makes a living" and was being so snarky as if it was our fault the party didn't show up. We all still tipped him well, we tried to disregard the attitude, but we won't be returning! Also the food was really expensive for what you get at lunch time. If you are to come, get the breakfast menu, it's larger portions. read more

This experience felt like something you'd find in a big city or somewhere on the east coast at least! We dined at Prossimo last night it was a great experience. The freshly prepared mozzarella at your table was delicious accompanied by heirloom maters and balsamic. Cocktails were also great. I had the featured smoked old fashioned with a rye I'd never had before, which was perfect...high proof rye = perfect old fashioned. For entrees we chose the wild mushroom risotto and the Alfredo. I had them add octopus tentacles to my risotto, which made for a delicious fusion. Portion sizes are above average here as well. The service was also good - attentive, but not annoying. We were seated in the west room in a corner where we could view the bar area. It was busy, but not overly crowded and the place had a good vibe. I'll defiantly be returning. read more

Overall, it was just not good and horribly overpriced for the food we got. First, I ordered the cranberry Boulevardie, which came with a sugared rim that wasn't listed and no one asked for. I had to send it back. Also, for $19- Imma need y'all to invest in those big ice cubes or spheres. The tiny, hotel icemaker chips were not it. We ordered the mozzarella as recommended by the server. $18- fine we'll get it. He recommended we get it with the heirloom tomatoes. Sure! They were $17 . To add insult to injury, we later saw that one half of the restaurant (different server) was having a lovely balsamic reduction we were never offered. Our meal included the polenta and meatballs- really good and, honestly, could be a main course; the calamari- unflavored, over breaded, overcooked; and their famous Alfredo that they make table-side- do not waste your money. We love Prossimo! We have been 3 times and have had a great experience every time. This last time we had a table of four. We all started out with their Old Fashioned-always good! Then we had the mozzarella that was prepared at our table, along with heirloom tomatoes. For entrees, my husband and I both had the fettuccine that was made at our table. Loved it. We loved how it wasn't overly rich and cheesy. I had prawns with mine and my husband had octopus. Oh, the bread we got at the beginning of our meal was incredibly delicious and they gave us more! We all split the chocolate cake. It was so good and the portion was so big that the 4 of us couldn't finish it. Can't wait to go back! The vodka pasta dish here is hands down the most amazing pasta dish I've ever had! The Breads and 3 dips for it are out of this world. I love it here so much that my husband and I had our wedding dinner here. The ambiance is classy and elegant. I love the chandeliers with the pink velvety chairs! Their brunch is perfect! The pitcher of Mimosas! OMG! The craft cocktails! They are so creative and everything is just amazing! They have accommodated my food allergies along with my friends that's are vegan and/or gluten-free. They had options for everyone! Even the bee knees drink was modified for the vegans. The staff is always incredible! I've never had a negative experience with the staff here. The chef even let my husband experience the staff wine tasting. Being an Asian Immigrant who enjoys other cuisines, this place did not disappoint at all. My wife and I came here for our 1 Year anniversary dinner. We went to Italy for our honeymoon so to celebrate we decided that coming here a year later was the perfect fit. And also because we truly enjoy Italian food, especially home made Italian cuisine from scratch. The calamari was probably the closest we have ever had to the Same calamari that we ate in Italy. The pasta noodles were cooked to perfection and to top it off, I actually enjoyed the fresh mozzarella's which I didn't think I would. Service is always outstanding here. Truly. I almost gave them a four this time just because I talked myself out of the alfredo. :( But that's my own dang fault. Instead we tried the Pappardelle Bolognese and the Spicy Paccheri Alla Vodka. We added Caesar Salads. I love the croutons and the shaved parm. The bread here is outstand as are the spreads that accompany it. For dessert we almost tried the tiramisu because the table next to us ordered it and it was ginormous. We tried the pistachio cheesecake instead. Four bites had a dollop of sage sauce on top. Sounds weird but is wonderful especially if you alternate bites with the more traditional whipped cream topping. read more

Had no difficulty securing reservation on the Resy site for 6 o'clock this past Friday (we've got kids now-Lol). Were promptly seated. The downside of the restaurant-- tight tables where you get to enjoy the conversations of strangers right beside. The food, however, was tremendous. The pace was very good. We had the calamari appetizer-second only to Flemings (in our experience). Twas served with a lemon caper dill dipping sauce & also marinara, both on the side. The chop salad was a proper anti-pasto with meat, tapenade, and pickled things. Tossed in a light and fresh dressing. Very good. For dinner we had the table side- fettuccine prepared from the big rind. Side of mushrooms; these absolutely set the dish off. Generous serving of the mushrooms two. Strongly recommended. Lastly the Chilean sea bass which was cooked to perfection. I didn't care for the spicy Pomodoro sauce served on the plate. But the pesto was mighty fine. Unfortunately we hit the wall prior to dessert. Had our eye on either the crème brûlée or the chocolate cake. Maybe next time. 4.25* on the whole. Ambulance a little missing due to the closeness of tables; the service was efficient however a little cold. Our only quibbles. Brought my elderly parents here for lunch on 9/10/24 as we traveled across country. I simply wanted someplace special as we hit our halfway point. We were the only customers there and unfortunately, we were very disappointed when our meals tasted and felt like reheated left over. I had the risotto and added chicken, the chicken was dry and the risotto had what appeared to be a few hardened grains (a little crunch). My dad's octopus was rubbery. I'm not sure which hit me first... the smile on a waiter's face as we walked in, the pretty pink couches creating a sitting area just behind the door or the subtle fragrance of garlic and toasted bread coming from the kitchen. The bar is impressively stocked. Cocktails are delightful here, from classic martinis in the prettiest glasses ever to specialty cocktails designed by the bartender. The calamari is really delicious- lightly breaded, served with marinara sauce and a caper aioli (amazing) and lemon. We shared a bottle of Lambrusco (Nicchia Lambrusco di Modena) which was full and flavourful, replete with bubbles! The Lambrusco was perfect with our meals. The star of the show was the Il Vero Alfredo ~ house-made fettuccine stirred table side in a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. Our waiter Jory explained the plate and the cheese, and could not stop smiling as he created our dish. The grilled octopus was outstanding, served with red wine sausage and the Pappardelle Bolognese was richly satisfying. We didn't really have room for dessert, but we enjoyed their delicate light sorbets (lemon and raspberry). The ambience and service are top-notch here. The music selection (reggaeton) wasn't quite suited for such a lovely meal but the manager was very responsive. read more

So this is the third time to visit and we do enjoy this restaurant last visit was disappointing. We ordered the Bolognese which very bland and mild in flavor. Our waitress did mention that another couple had requested salt for the same dish (which we did as well as well). The base is more of a vegetable purée and has chicken liver and anchovy blended in as well. It wasn't our style. The tableside fettuccine has always been a favorite. The wheel was quite low and had a stronger flavor than I'm used to. I like it better when the wheel is newer and mild. To eat the fettuccine on its own seems lacking. I always order a side of chicken which is delicious. Really enjoyed the lemon and raspberry sorbet pallet cleanser. We asked if that was something new that they did because we've never gotten it before. She said that they have done it since they opened and that sometimes servers will forget. As someone who works in fine dining I was so appreciative of all the knowledge and hard work that went into our experience. Allen was our server and was so amazing and guided us through the menu. Everything we had was just absolutely phenomenal. There was complementary focaccia and ciabatta with a garlic puree, a tapenade-like dip, and something else I can't remember what the name was? (Kind of taste like butter? Idk haha) all so good btw! We then ordered the calamari (which was suggested), the mussels the Caesar to split, the white bean soup. Everything was perfect but we were too full to try an entree. The service was top notch, everything was coursed out seamlessly and his knowledge was above and beyond. Reservations were for 7:45 and we waited for over mins!! The hostesses were just running around....no apologies!!! Finally, one of them offered us complimentary drinks. We got seated around 8:20 pm and our server made up for our wait. He has a very pleasant personality and apologized profusely for the wait. We were hungry and so ordered more than we needed...octopus was very well cooked...soft and tender, the prime rib was good (needed some seasoning) and the orecchiette and sausage was satisfying. After a long wait the server made a big difference and we enjoyed our meal. Will I visit again??? read more
