I was using a groupon and sometimes I get nervous that the place I go with a groupon will be rude but the staff and doctor were all very warm and welcoming. I was getting botox in my two top lines on my forehead it was my first time and he put me at ease very quickly.The doctor was very aware of the lines on my face and told me what products would be best for me as well as gave awesome nutritional advice that I was not expecting at all. I scheduled my 1st appointment and the front office scheduled the time incorrectly . I rescheduled the 2nd appt and drove 1 hour round trip . When I arrived , I was told for the first time that I should not have plucked any hair for 2 weeks and that I was suppose to shave the area prior to the appt. I had never been given any of these instructions the 2x I spoke to someone on the phone . I am very disappointed with communication . I now have a Groupon that I need to pursue a refund. read more

I usually don't rate higher than four stars for medical because realistically medical can be messy between billing and insurance and pharmacy communication. The reason I did five stars is because this is a rare facility that LISTENS. I could rave that pretty much everyone I know goes here and has been helped, but the one that is most meaningful is my daughter. She suddenly changed and it was confusing. Apathetic about school and severely depressed. There was something preventing her from being herself. Instead of just giving her anti-depressants I asked him to do testing just in case it was an issue that could be fixed. It took a few tests but we found she was producing zero progesterone and high levels of adrenaline, so of course she felt awful! She has a rx for both now and she's back to herself again. Her memory has improved and she has a good attitude like she used to. He uses very natural rx at the lowest dose possible so they are easy on the body which I appreciate. The goal is to be able to stop the rx if possible too which I also appreciate. Are there things I could complain about- yeah they aren't perfect. However what matters MOST to me is intent and effort, and I have never seen a practice try so hard to help heal their patients. Heal, not just treat. Our average appt talking to the Dr is 30 min to an hour because he asks questions, listens, and explains. I am just blown away by this practice. read more

Dr. McCarty came highly recommended, so I was really excited to see him. Over the next five weeks, I was in the office 4x's, spent a lot of money and got zero results. I called the office and discussed with the person who answered the phone, expressed my disappointment, was told the doctor would call me back...never heard for him. I had to download this damn app just to make a complaint! What is the point of me making an appointment a whole month out for me to come in the day of and find out my apt was never even made! Appointments are for loyal clients who have/want consistency! You have to consider that we have lives outside of our wants and needs so time can be minimal! They don't even deserve a star. They order excessive testing every few weeks then want you to pay a fee for a medication review. The medications are overpriced as well as the lab fees. They also hold your medications hostage if you do not do the costly med review. Even if the medication is a requirement for living. They will keep adding cost upon costs. They don't call back in a timely manner. I left a message for the doctor to call me back and it was 2 weeks before the issue was addressed. I had referred my mother in law and she also had similar problems. So she ended up leaving. read more

First time to Protea and I have to be honest I was very scared to try hair removal laser for the first time. I was greeted with some delicious tropical water when I arrived that was very tasty. Paperwork to fill out did not resemble a job application so that was refreshing also. I was greeted by Erica who was warm and inviting. She greeted me and asked me what I was trying to accomplish.
