I knew it wasn't anything too serious because the air was still blowing (warm air), so likley just needed freon. Elizabeth who is super nice and knowledgable fit me in; Vasch and his crew fixed me up and had me on my way in a short couple hours. In the course of fixing me up they noticed something else I needed repaired, and I also knew I needed my suspension done, so I gave them the work. I am so pleased with the results and pricing. J&Z didn't rip me off like most places are doing and I didn't have to bring the car back for any unfixed issues. I can say Vasch put me back on the rode safely. If it wasn't for the A/C going out I think I would have just continued to drive past this gem.

They had lots of recognition and certificates of achievements hanging on the walls. They are also certified Geico repair location. For my inspection, one of the mechanics came over within few minutes. He completed the inspection steps in his phone and gave me a receipt at the end. I also received an email confirmation from Carco. All of this was at no cost. I was done in 15 minutes. That was really a smooth convenient service by the shop.

Then they charge me (a loyal customer) $73.00 to switch a tire from one rim to another. That's nearly half of what the replacement tire cost. I didn't expect anything free but certainly not to be raked. Shame on me cause I saw a few poor reviews about the shop but I gave them a chance and ended up out thousands of dollars and "nothing" accomplished.

I was completely blown away by this auto repair shop. I have NEVER in my decades (5 decades to be exact) of experience working with auto repair shops witnessed the high level of technical competence, open and honesty communication, customer focus exhibited by Horace, Nick, and the staff at this shop. I had a battery problem and needed to see if it is simply a battery issue or something more serious with the electrical system. They ran a series of test on not only the battery, but also on the alternator and also tested for battery drainage issues. Instead of making up something like most shops would so they can get a job out of it, they said all the tests( about an hours worth) revealed no issues they could find. If my problem recurs in a day or two to bring it back. As i was prepared to pay for the service, the owner said there is no charge since nothing is wrong and to return if problem recurs. However, he added he does not think he will see me again as he found nothing. I have not experienced any problem since. I have two other cars and guess who would I trust them to next time I have a problem. This is what makes a service establishment successful, focus on the long term relationship and not on short term transactional gain. read more

Turned my frown, upside down Overheated Car after having Thanksgiving Dinner !!! That was me! It was about 9pm and I am leaving Jersey to go home to Connecticut, and my car overheated!!! After getting my car towed to my moms home in Jersey, I was more worried about where I can get my car fixed ASAP! I also have two kids with me as we were stuck in Jersey. I got in contact with a local Auto Shop named Protec. I dropped my car on Friday and Horace checked my car out immediately. He called me with the issues and quoted what I thought was a very good price for parts and labor to replace my waterpump! My truck was a R350 Mercedes. He finished fixing my car that SAME DAY which was a huge deal to me!! Horace even called me the next day to follow up and make sure my car was good and no coolant was leaking. Happy to say my car was all good and I made it back to Connecticut safe and sound with the kids!!! Great place to have honest and reliable auto repair!!! I definitely recommend them!!! Customer service and Auto Repair Shop are usually not associated in a positive way, which is what makes ProTec so special. Horace and Nicholas are amazing. Communication was quick and Nicholas helped narrow the focus of potential problems before I even arrived for an appointment. Horace was unbelievably thorough in his contemplative analysis of my cars issues. He listened to what I had to say, how I described the cars issues; we had an actual conversation about it. He didnt just run a diagnostic test and tell me what a tool said was wrong, he also studied my engine like a doctor, even taking out a sonic listening device so that I could hear the sounds inside the motor. It was very impressive how thorough he was just on the consultation. When he narrowed in on my issues, he didnt try to needlessly sell me, in fact, he pointed out several things that I could do on my own. Again, this level of Customer Service is so unexpected in an Auto Repair business. I can not recommend ProTec any higher! read more

I've had the pleasure of having my car serviced there for years. Its about time they got on line so that I can tell everyone about how great they are. A father son, team, they are extremely knowledgeable and as a family owned business they embody all the good qualities that you want to find not only in mechanics, but in the people who surround you as well. Incredibly honest, they will not mislead you, when they service your car you don't have to come back for the same repair over and over. Additionally, they used to service my 2006 Hyundai and when the cost of repairs exceeded the book value, rather than make the repairs, they advised me that it was time to buy a new car -- even though they might risk losing my business to the dealer in the meantime! I heeded their advice and bought another car, but I still use them to service my new one. I'm lucky that I met them, glad they are my mechanics and if you try them, you will be, too! read more

We're always reluctant to have our 30 year old Cadillac Eldorado worked on by a new mechanic, but when we were in need of a new evaporator core this spring we decided to give ProTec a try. We were immediately impressed at how fast Horace found the replacement part and gave us a fair estimate within minutes. We returned with the car the next day and picked it up after a day and a half with the A/C blowing ice-cold air. We've also taken our old lady back a few times over the summer for general servicing and to have several strange squeaks and rattles repaired. Each time Horace and his knowledgeable staff have accurately diagnosed and corrected the problem. Sent my mom with 2003 sequoia that had back gate latch issue where the door does not open. Very common problem on this model. The team at protec was able to get the right part fast and do a repair quickly and at a good and fair price. No pressure or upsells, very relaxed environment. I feel comfortable sending family members and friends to this shop. Trusted mechanics are hard to find, so these guys are it! One more repair - this time with ABS issues on same car. This family owned and operated mechanic shop has serviced multiple of my vehicles for years. When I had my Altima over seven years ago, I was told my a mechanic at a different shop that I needed shocks. When I took it here for a second opinion, the tech told me my shocks were fine and saved me a lot of money for repairs and replacements that were not necessary. I won't let anyone else touch my 2004 BMW 330i or 2014 Focus ST accept for these guys. They have far exceeded my expectations in their knowledge and workmanship of/on the cars they work on.
