Do not recommend. The older dentist told me I had to do a root canal at no point he said I should remove my tooth. I did the root canal with the younger gentleman and he did a great job. I have trouble going to the dentist because of trauma but he was great and I had the temporary crown and it did not hurt at all, the problem started after ordering the crown because I came in and it was not there for the appointment, when I came in for the permanent crown it was the lady dentist who inserted, she stood up and pushed down very hard and I immediately felt pain, she said it would take a couple of days to heal. 1 week went by and I called them because I had a sac of pus without seeing me she prescribed antibiotics and it did not go away it was hurting more than before. She prescribed pain medication which I told her not to do it because I treat my chronic pain with a pain management clinic and can't take pain meds from another doc, she did it anyways ( I got in trouble w the pain clinic) I asked to come in so they can see the older dentist took X-rays and they shaved a little bit of the crown exposing a little black dot they sent me home and when I came back again the older doctor told me they have to pull my teeth because there's a fracture in my teeth and told me to do an implant as if implant is inexpensive. He said there's nothing else they can do, I explained how the pain started after the lady doctor stood up to push the crown down and he said that does not cause the fracture but could not explain how did I get a fracture after the many X-rays I did. When I spoke with the office manager she declined to send my X-rays and when she send it it was a couple of them , I took dozens of X-ray throughout my visits their "records" does not show my true concerns and what was said to me. I'm still in pain, the shaving down on the crown with the black dot still there and I often get a little sac of fluid by that tooth. If I could give them a negative 0 star I would. I can't afford to fix what they did and this situation only added pain to the trauma I already had. Do not waste your time or money. The service is long like any other place. The staff are polite. I only came here because it was closer. I gotten 3 teeth filled with the plastic resin fillings. After 3 weeks my teeth felt worse. I had sensitivity in some of my other teeth that didn't have fillings. I went there to have them check. They said it's probably my wisdom teeth that is causing the problem. I'm no fool I know their business are using the low grade brands of fillings. Before going here I went to Sapphire Dentist on dysart & camelback. They did a better job and they are just as polite. I am a previous customer, but not a patient. I took a friend of mine here to get some dental work done a few years ago when she was pregnant, It was on MY dime and there was No Insurance so I was having to pay out of pocket. My friend wanted me to sit with her because she was scared and I was allowed to do that every time. I liked that the rooms were private rather than some of the usual "Galley" seating you see in other offices where everyone is getting worked on in the same room. I also liked that is wasn't a "Chain" with a dozen locations and rotating dentists, nor was it a Consortium, or Co-Op style office where there are 10 or 15 different dentists that also work out of 5-10 OTHER offices. Both those types of places are a total turn off to me and are best described as "Upsell Mills" where it is very difficult for a dentists BAD Rep to follow him and instead it is the office location that has to deal with the reviews. So THIS office was already making big points being family owned and having several dentists in the family working there. My friend had three teeth pulled at different appointments. Then at the third app it became obvious for her to have an upper denture made as well as the rest of her upper teeth removed. This was going to be pricey and I couldn't afford to get all that done. Well, the dentist knew the score, that I was trying to help someone out as best I could, so he decided to help ME out the best HE could and reduced the cost from $4300 to something much more manageable and as a bonus, the current cost of that third extraction would be put towards the cost of the denture. How cool is that ? So I went for it and borrowed $600 from a family member as well as pinged a couple credit cards pretty hard and got it done for her. She was in pain after and the Dr gave her something for pain as well as a refill for a few more days until it subsided. From the front office to the back everyone was NON-judgmental, caring and compassionate towards my friend and made her feel comfortable even though she was extremely self conscious about going in to see a dentist in the first place. And the way I was treated after my mission became clear was absolutely Human! You will likely NOT find many Dentists willing to completely sacrifice Profit in order to do a kind thing for a total stranger who is trying to do a good deed for someone else. Well fast forward 6 years and that same friends daughter, who Is now 6 yrs old and in my care, needs to get dental work done. so just out of curiosity & comparison, & the desire to find this little Princess the best possibility of a mild, painless as well as possibly FUN visit to the dentist I did extensive searching for Pediatric Dentists on the AZ AHCCCS website and copied every name that was within a 20 mile radius. From there I had to do web searches in order to connect Dentist names with Clinic names so I could search for reviews and I read Hundreds of reviews, I came to the conclusion that there are just not many I am willing to gamble on. After major whittling down because of one thing or another in the negative. Be it too many locations (Chains), or too many Dentists in one office (Co-Op's or Consortiums), or dentists that work in way too many different places(Hit-N-Run), Places exposed as "Up-Sell Mills", Offices with Galley seating that work on 4 or More patients at a time in one room and in a hurry (Seen them likened to "Puppy Mills", OR Offices and dentists with too many bad reviews for a wide array of reasons from insane pricing, unnecessary work, Bad billing dept's, Rude Office staff, OR out right lying to patients about expensive treatments they never needed as told by 2n'd opinion Dentists, OR locations that were just too far away, etc, etc. In the end there were only 5 possibe dentists left on that long list as well as Protection Plus Dental Center for a just in case. So I called the one that looked best by all accounts (Even though they have Galley seating" with a 5.0 star rating out of 5 with nearly 50 reviews and it would be a ONE MONTH Wait for a visit. It couldn't wait that long since just last night the little girl started complaining of a toothache. I called Protection Plus Dental Center not even knowing if they had a Pediatric Dentist or not and they got her in to see Sabrina the pediatric dentist at 11:30am THE NEXT DAY !!! so now, with my Curiosity totally CURED, I am going to be a return customer, just not a return patient LOL. BUT If I ever need my dentures replaced I will become a patient though. I DO believe that Protection Plus Dental Center has to be one of THE most Underrated dental offices in all the valley and I chalk that up to a majority of their patients possibly not being registered on Yelp. Matter of fact, I had to register JUST to come and leave this review. So give them a try and maybe come back to Yelp and leave a review of your own because they really deserve a bit of recognition. read more

This was my first time going to this dental center. The receptionist was really nice however the dental assistant was really rude. She had an attitude the whole time I was there. She was also really loud talking to another assistant who was in a different room. She was speaking in Spanish thinking I did not understand what she saying. The dentist was nice however he was really rough. I went in for a cleaning and I did not expect to be in pain after a simply cleaning. My gums are still in pain after two days I would not recommend this dental center. read more

I believe I had Dr Kamyata (sorry if I butchered that). She was awesome, very reassuring, and numbed me up superbly. She didnt start anything until I was properply numb. When she tested the front left part of my gums with her tool and i could still sorta feel the poke and lip not compltly numb, she went back in to add more numbing. She was extremely patient and awesome with pain management, which is extremely important to me cause Im such a big baby, no thanks to my dad (had me worked up for nothing ). This was my first (and hopefully last) and best root canal ever! Highly reccomend her!!! read more

This was my primary dentist growing up and I always dreaded going. Their wait times were HOURS long at times, and they seemed to have a total disregard for crowded wait rooms. Yesterday, my adopted sister went to an appointment and the dental hygienist pried way too far into her life, asking about why she had been in foster care & that foster care children are normally "bad." I have gone to Protection Plus Dentistry for over 10 years. I should have left along time ago. We dread each visit. l will be leaving this office and choosing another Dental office this week. Their Dental Hygienist is mean and unprofessional. She digs into your gums and is like a bull in a China shop. She scolds you every time, like your a little kid. My daughter got her yesterday for the first time. She told my sweet daughter she would not amount to anything. My wife complained to the front office and they told her this in not this ladies first complaint. Management needs to wake up..
