This is the first place I would turn for PC laptop repair in Chicago. Had them repair a broken laptop DC power jack and the work was done faster than promised. Their flat rate price for such repairs is very reasonable. Staff is knowledgeable and professional, and emailed me as soon as the work was done. The only bummer was needing a $45 replacement harness, but judging from a quick online search that's a fair price. What can I say? I am NOT lucky when it comes to electronics. I don't know what it is but every computer or cell phone I've ever had, I've had a problem with. I had taken a laptop here before and they were very quick in telling me what the problem was: my hard drive was bad so I needed to replace it. I paid them the $49 diagnostic fee, thanked them and went on my way. I opted to not have them install the hard drive 1. because of the cost and 2. it's really not that hard. It's just the software setup and backup that takes up all the time. Anyway, so my latest laptop decided to stop working. No reason whatsoever, except it just did not want to turn on. I attributed it to a virus of some sort since my bf likes to look at "sexy time" online (if-you-know-what-I-mean). So I decided to take it to Pro Computers since they were so awesome last time. Again, I drop it off, pay the diagnostic fee and they call me the next day to let me know what's up, I need a new motherboard. They tell me what the cost would be for parts and labor and basically I could buy a brand new laptop for the same cost. Long story short, I buy a new laptop instead, and I take it back to them to have it set up and a recovery disc made, and they were fantastic about it! I really couldn't be happier with these guys. I would totally recommend PRO Computers for anyone having computer issues. The store is within walking distance of my home and I finally decided to try them out when my Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop finally conked out. The guy at the desk was welcoming, friendly, and listened patiently while I explained my problem. Their email system of notification and keeping you updated works quite well. My problem was relatively simple; just involved replacing the hard drive and with the $49 diagnostic fee included in the final bill, I felt the pricing was reasonable and much cheaper than taking my machine to Geek Squad/Best Buy, which is also much further away. I had my repaired laptop back within 2 days and I was surprised at the fast turnaround in service. When I got home, I did have one problem in that the audio wasn't working so I called PRO right away and the issue was resolved over the phone. The PRO guy again was professional and very patient walking me through the process. The machine is up and working and I had a very pleasant and professional experience with PRO, and I'm thinking of bringing in my father's computer for service. PRO Computers reminds me of back in the day when there was a neighborhood TV repair shop where you could take a broken TV or radio and get it repaired in a personal way with someone you could trust, rather than going to a big box store. Excellent customer service like this is rare; hope PRO sticks around for a long time. read more

A qualified five. Five for professionalism and customer service. One for supply chain. I brought in my 2011 Macbook Pro, with a messed up keyboard. Got it home and the new keyboard had a non functioning down cursor key. Called them, ended up taking a few weeks to get it back to them. They had it a week, called the day it was due, and they had gotten a bad cable. Wanted 3 to 5 more days, which was not going to work for me. They expedited and got me a new part, fixed the next day. If you have a server or a PC, or maybe a newer laptop, I'm sure they are great. I don't know if I would bring them a Macbook Pro again. I probably would bring a five year old Mac to the Apple store. They were cheaper, though, and they did deal well with several curve balls. They also honored the warranty. I don't know what constraints they deal with. read more

I scheduled an appointment a week in advance for modem, router and camera install. I was out of state and coordinating several contractors doing work for a specific day. I chose this company, because I got the impression that they were large and organized - I was wrong. At 7:15am the morning of our 10:30am appointment, I received an email from Cosmin saying he can't make and to let him know if I want to reschedule. I was furious and called the office - they offered me no alternative. I'm just blown away at how inconsiderate these people were. STAY AWAY! These are my new computer guys for PC problems. My old Toshiba stopped booting up, so I brought it here. They charge a very reasonable diagnostic fee (which goes toward the cost of repair if you go that route), and tell you when they'll be getting back to you. They hit that deadline. Rather than go for the repair, I bought a refurbished Lenovo laptop from them for $250, and it's a much faster and better machine than the one I brought in to be fixed. I was in need of help with my laptop. I googled computer repair and Pro popped up. As they were convenient to get to, I read the reviews and decided I would try them. Fast forward about two-three months and I finally brought my equipment in. On a Saturday. As they were painting the shop on this particular day, I was told they wouldn't look at my laptop until Monday. Monday I got the quote (it was a failing hard drive) and was told it would be 1-3 days. On my way home from work that same Monday, I got a call saying my laptop could be picked up. Yes ! I love them. Very fast and a very fair price. Sure much cheaper than a new laptop ! Did a chat with their websites chat service. Found them to have three locations on the northside of Chicago. Found pro computers and saw there great reviews, I took it over there and they where great they give you free estimates a lot of laces charge for estimate . Suran tech associate was very helpful and honest in what they could do to resolve my problem. He called 1 1/2 days later gave me my options and told me what he recommends wasn't pushy gave me time to decide what I wanted to do. After I decided he even gave me a discount on the repair price after I told him money was tight cuz of covid . I took my MacBook Pro 15" laptop with retina display in for a screen replacement. I was so disgusted with myself for having cracked it in the first place. Communication was a huge problem at this place. Came in for a issue where MacBook got wet. Was told it was keyboard issue, which the buttons are STILL sticking and not as fluid typing. Was also suggested to get fan fixed for an additional $279, since there was a part "missing" at this point i knew something was wrong and took my computer to another service place and they stated the " missing" part doesn't just come off and that it must've been messed with while fixing the computer. On top of that, the fan worked fan and still has had no issue so I would've paid another $270 for a fan issue that wasn't there. Appreciate the help from this place but wouldn't go back. read more

Hmmm, my review keeps disappearing. I wonder why. They've had my laptop for 3 weeks...ordered 2 motherboards, both were "broken" (what are the odds?) and the 3rd and final one mysteriously vanished. Although it was apparently ordered through UPS, they claim to have no tracking number. One piece of advice I got from the very helpful guy working in the back area was to "throw my computer out of the window" since this wasn't his "idea of fun". Yes, those are direct quotes. I was also informed that HP and Dell are S****Y products and they hate working on them, what a hassle, etc. Um, that's your job, dude. STAY AWAY! THREE WEEKS LATER....nada. I've used PRO Computers twice. The first time I got a virus (on my computer), and the second time my hard drive died. Finding a computer repair store is hard, because you tend to associate trust and good work w/big brand names. In this business there's Geek Squad, and then there's everything else. But Geek Squad is expensive and slow. So when you start looking at all the smaller computer repair shops the first thing you notice is that all the names sound the same. So I narrowed down my geographic focus and decided to go into PRO Computers and just get a feel for if I felt comfortable leaving my laptop there. They do a $30 diagnostic test there, which is good, b/c it gives you the option of deciding whether or not to proceed with the repairs. I felt totally comfortable leaving my laptop there both times. The person at the desk seemed knowledgeable and professional, and the prices quoted were just fine. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the low prices. Both times my laptop was fixed and returned to me within 2 business days. read more

Excellent & speedy service! My desktop CPU wouldn't power on and all I wanted were the docs, pics, music, etc. pulled from the machine and put on my flash drive. And that's exactly what I got. I dropped off my computer first thing in the morning and within a couple of hours, I received an email that said the service was complete. I researchEed on yelp and went over to these guys coz it was in my neighborhood and good reviews...I don't understand how can you get good reviews for crappy service I drop my laptop on a saturday 10 am was charged a $ 39 Diagnostic ...was told total would be $89 and I would have to pay the balance when the work was done...I was left with no laptop for 3 whole days while I had to prepare for a test ...and they said they would update me by email... .How would one check their email when they had the laptop ?...plus contradictory to what was told they only emailed me on Monday 4 pm....After 3 days ....till then no calls no nothing ... Every time I called , a guy Jake answered ...He had no clue what so ever what he was talking ....I never spoke to the guy who fixed the laptop ...Every time Jake would tell me the guy who is fixing will call when done ..I never received any calls ....I had to call a million times to know ...plus one time I called them they tell me there were nasty viruses...that too after 3 whole days ..so why was the diagnostic charged when they couldn't diagnose on day 1 ...After 3 days they tell me about the virus ...plus they said there was an additional fee apart from the $89 for virus removal ...wtf ! First they tell $89 for the whole process and extra only if any part was replaced I have got the laptop screen replaced for $150 another computer repair store in chicago...Also when I spoke to the guy he said he can return the laptop without removing the virus if I did not want to pay ....they would return my laptop without solving the issue for $ 89 and that too after leaving me without the laptop for 3 days ......stay away from these guys .freaking expensive ....slow poor service ...rude guys over the phone ... Also I Reach the store at 6 : 30 pm and the store closed at 7 pm...I switch my laptop to find the the annoying search engine still showing ...and my desktop Gmail notifier uninsulated ...The guy Was unable to install it saying Gmail has discontinued it...and told me he doesn't do virus removal in One day...coz he did in a hurry the virus was still on ....did he forget he had the laptop for 3 whole days .. ..Also he told me he made dinner plans so had to leave early ....if anyone entered my store before the store closing time I would sit up the whole night and fix the problem ....coz the customer is the king ...but not for these guys .... My power socket on my laptop started to get loose and not charge and after looking around and having "The Geek Squad" tell me that they are unsure they could fix it/I have to pay for them to ship it to find that out. PRO on the other hand told me they could fix the problem for much less, and quicker, 2-3 days if they didn't have the part.
