Renee got me in today for an ombré look and I knew it wouldn't come out super light since I have extremely dark hair. I thought it was going to come out kind of Orange and was a little worried. Prova Salon is so unexpected by the outside. Inside it's super sleek, has a big city vibe, and is full of energy. I've been having Angie Armstrong who is a stylist there cut my hair for the last 6 months and she does a fantastic job. I like to get creative with my hair and she's always willing to help me reach the perfect compromise for what's trendy without being too over the top. And her head massages rock! Another plus is that while the salon is located in a shopping plaza, there are so many things around. I can hit up Starbuck's, grab lunch, grocery shop, and pop in to PetSmart, all in one easy swoop. I was in town for a wedding and needed a hair stylist to do an up-do for me. My friend recommended Prova, but you just never know! I had to put a lot of faith into this decision to spend money on something that I might not even like. Prova set me up with hair stylist, Hillary. She was a perfectionist and very accommodating to my personal likes and dislikes. My hair looked very beautiful. I was so thankful and really felt like I had lucked out, being that I had never been there before and I had no idea what Prova was all about. The salon in general is very clean, huge, and everybody who worked there seemed so nice and genuine. After years of trying to cut financial corners for a decent haircut, I simply gave up and went back to Rolf's and paid top dollar for a cut and color. The end result was just about the same as the $50 version that I was finding elsewhere. Bottom line, is that I heard so many excellent comments on Yelp about Prova Salon, that I walked in and asked for assistance in finding a new hairdresser. I was randomly assigned to Anissa (pronounced Aneesa.) and was instantly whipped back into shape with a fantastic, cut, color with highlights. Anissa works with me each month to rotate services so that I can afford to continue to have my hair updated as needed. Five stars goes out easily to Anissa at The Prova Salon. I am going to regret saying this but she is also easy to get an appointment with as she is just building her clientele list. read more

This was my first time going to Prova Salon. I wanted a perm but I was nervous because a different salon had told me that I should not get a perm because my hair was colored two years ago. I went in and Candy was the hair professional who took care of me. She told me it would be no problem as long as we layered my hair a little bit to cut off a tiny bit on the ends. Candy was wonderful, quick and obviously skilled. She was a little quiet at first but when I initiated conversation we talked for the rest of the time. She had so many great tips for taking care of my perm and how to work with it. She also told me that her perms last AT LEAST six months and can go up to two years depending on the client's hair type. I just can't say anything bad about her, she was a pro! I absolutely LOVE my perm!! It looks wonderful and I'll definitely go back there. I thought it was a little pricey (135.00 for a perm and a cut, not including the tip I gave) but I've heard from others that that is about normal, so I'm probably wrong. Either way, I loved Candy, I loved Prova and I WILL be going back there. PS don't be put off by the outside, it looks small but it's quite magnificent inside. read more

On a trip to NYC about a year ago I booked a hair cut at the famous Frederic Fekkai's on 5th Ave just before a big business meeting. Fekkai's was different and kind of interesting as an experience, but the results were not good. He didn't even come close to what Sarah Biggs can do! Sarah will always be the one to cut my hair! This place is seriously a gem. I've been getting my hair cut here for the last few years and I will not go anywhere else. Bahia is the stylist who always sculpts my hair perfectly. I currently live in the east valley but gladly make the 30 minute drive to the scottsdale area for a hair cut. I often make the trip in the middle of work so it's very important to me that I leave the salon looking and feeling clean and here I truly get the full treatment, my hair is washed before and after the cut and I leave with my hair fully styled. I wouldn't recommend any other place. You usually have to schedule an appointment but on occasion she has availabilities for walk ins, just ask for Bahia. :) read more

She showed me how i could style my hair using some of the products she used, so im going to try them to get some volume and style to my hair. My 14 year old daughter had been growing out an asymmetrical bob which looked great, have to say, never really looked like she was growing out a haircut. Anyway, Diane T. asked what she wanted. My daughter, who has extremely thick hair and LOVES her straightener, (like every other teenage girl) , said she wanted layers. Well, I thought she was going to get the look that every other teenage girl has, long layers. My daughter has always liked to try the new and cutting edge styles and looks. (sometimes to my cringing). Diane, just sprayed her hair with water and started to cut to her vision. This masterpiece that she created is perfect! She loves it! Her friends love it and want to copy it. Diane T is truly and artist who performs her art for each person individually. I am more conservative, and with fine hair, I am limited to what I can do. Went back the next day and asked that they just re polish and they said no, at least not without having to charge for it!!Seriously? They were very unaccommodating. Very poor customer service!! I recently moved to AZ. As you can imagine was was nervous to find a new hair stylist. A friend reccomended CRYSTAL. She spent time with me to get the right style for me. I am one that does not spend much time with my hair, curling irons and the like. CRYSTAL did a great job, I loved my new hair cut and highlights. Its very easy to care for. Prova is THE best hair salon in Phoenix. I've been seeing Gina there for over four years, and she's fantastic. All of the employees are very accommodating to the customers, and I love how they have a drink bar where coffee, tea, water and sometimes pastries are offered. The place is very sanitary and has a very sleek and modern vibe inside. The prices are a bit on the higher end, but it is well worth it. I had a wonderful experience at Prova Salon. Everyone was incredibly friendly from start to finish. The ladies at the front desk were super sweet. Kristi Rogers cut my hair for the first time and I loved it! I had her take 8 inches off my hair so that I could donate it and it turned out so perfect. I also saw the aesthetician who was willing to fit me in even though they were closing. I feel bad, but I don't recall her name. Really sweet with a charming accent.
