I had a great experience at Monhair Salon today. I was able to walk-in for a haircut and got in immediately. The woman who shampooed my hair did a wonderful job and I felt super relaxed. Then the woman who did my haircut listened to what I wanted, made some suggestions, and created exactly the result I wanted. I thought the price was very fair. Both women were kind, professional, and efficient. I felt well taken care of and I will definitely be back! read more

I went in for just a trim after over a year without a haircut. My hair turned out really well. The haircut was around $35 which is so cheap for a women's haircut! Nada was very kind as well. The reason I'm giving three stars is because the salon was a little too dirty for my liking. There was hair everywhere, all over the floor, chairs, counter tops. I was only the second appointment of the day. On the ground around the washing sinks were quite dirty . I'm a bit of a clean freak so it wasn't too pleasant seeing all that. Lastly, when she was blow drying my hair there was sooooo much smoke coming off of my hair. It literally looked like my hair was about to catch on fire lol Unfortunately, I will not return because of those reasons. Again, I'm a bit of a clean freak so if those things don't matter to you then I'd recommend the salon. read more

I read dozens and dozens of reviews and decided to give Monhair Salon a chance. My last hair appointment at a salon in Florida was a traumatic experience that left me with over processed hair, a chemically burned scalp that itched and peeled for weeks, and a cut that was not even close to what I asked for. I have been reluctant to go to a salon since - and that was in May of 2019. When I arrived at Monhair today, I told Nada about my previous trauma. Nada was kind, attentive, and she assured me we could make my hair look alive again. She took her time and did exactly what I asked her to do. I left with exactly what I wanted. I asked just for her and she is absolutely amazing and the best experience I've had with my curly crazy hair! Highlights.. Cute cut.. AND styled to perfection for $100 plus $30 tip as she did an amazing job and was super fast! Nada is a gem. I'm normally very nervous about going to a new beauty salon. But all the reviews here on Yelp and on NextDoor.com convinced me to give Monhair a try. I called at noon and managed to get in for a 2:30 appt the same day! Then I got to the salon and was greeted warmly. I was seated immediately and Nada listened carefully to me while I described what I wanted. She's a pro. The hair wash was was gentle and relaxing. She expertly figured out what I needed. Within minutes I could see a new shape emerge as she cut my hair. I highly recommend Monhair salon and Nada for anything you need done with your hair. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I made an appointment with Nada a couple of months ago (I'm a little slow in getting around to my review). The location is great, the price is affordable, the shop is clean and I was able to get in quickly. Nada was busy with another customer and handed me off to someone else in the shop. I was a little disappointed (since I had specifically made an appointment with Nada) but was willing to give it a shot. It was the quickest haircut I had ever had; I was in and out of the salon in about 30 minutes. The stylist (I never got her name) repeatedly said "you're gonna love what I do with your hair", "this is gonna look so good", as if she was trying to convince me. Sadly, I was disappointed in the haircut. I had asked for it a little shorter in the back, a slight reverse bob. I received the opposite. My hair was longer in the back, which looked very dated. I also asked for the final dry style to come down to my shoulders. It ended up about 1.5 inches shorter than that. And the overall shape of the cut was off. I have curly hair so I know some stylists just don't understand how to allow for the shrinkage. I didn't realize how disappointing the cut was until I got home. Having curly hair, I can't always tell how good (or bad) the cut is until I get home and re-wash/style it myself. My search for a salon continues... read more

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, Yelp! Monhair is a bright and clean salon conveniently located off of the 101 and the 51. I went to the salon on a whim the first time. I had gotten a terrible haircut and needed it fixed stat. I found Monhair through Yelp and was able to get a same day appointment. I feel like you can just tell when someone knows what they're doing with hair. It's something about how many times they go over and over and over your hair to make sure everything is perfect. Nada is meticulous. I just had my second haircut with her and am extremely happy. I have a $100 haircut for $25. I will definitely be a regular. read more

Had an appointment today for 1:30 & 2:00. At 1:45 we walked out. Nada with as skilled as she is, unfortunately overbooked herself. This is the second time we have had to wait. I'm happy that her business is thriving but it is impolite to make people wait. read more

I love coming here. Nada is so good at what she does. She cuts my hair so perfectly! The salon is nice and neat and super convenient to where I live. I just came back from a trip to Korea and was going to have my hair done there since ive been told Seoul was the place to get glammed up but changed my mind because I wanted to have Nada do it. I got highlights and a cut and I can't believe what fantastic job Nadia did with my hair. I looks fabulous and the price was very reasonable. This was a tough review. My first visit was for a cut and Nada did a great job. Told her about my colics and that my hair is curly and people tend to cut it too short and then when it's dried, it's really too short. She listened, and my first cut was beautiful. I loved it so much that I went back for a color..again which was terrific. Andie did the color. Unfortunately, cut number 2 was a disappointment. Before she would clip up my hair and cut it in sections. Pulled it all together and you never would know that I was full of colics. This cut seemed rushed, no cutting,styling or drying in sections, (I part it to one side and told her that), and even when I went home and rewashed and styled...it just never came together. It was a bit short, I struggled with volume, Plus my colics just broke out no matter how much product I put in my hair. I'm not giving up on Nada. That morning she had a lot going on and I'm chalking it up to that. read more

The owner here is nice has a clean shop, she tried hard to pay attention to detail but had trouble understanding what i wanted. So my hair got cut too short, and i got a faux hawk that i cant spike up or do anything with..btw, my hair reached my butt. So thank god hair grows out. I liked this lately but i wont be returning because of the language barriers and because i didnt get what i wanted. Hair is very important to alot of ppl. Nada has done my hair for 2 years now. She's always able to fit me in when I need to be seen. I feel like the price is a great for the quality cut I get. She's the only person who can consistently cut my bangs the way I like them. Pay her a visit if you need a new hair stylist! read more

Updated: After being contacted by the owner, I decided to follow through with a hair appointment. Nada is so sweet and I really enjoyed my haircut. She was apologetic about the mishap during my last visit. She was patient and kind when I tried to explain what I was looking for in a hair cut. I loved the products she used on my hair, and purchased some oil that smells amazing! My hair feels and looks great. I am amazed by how graceful and professional this business handled my issue. Thank you. My appointment was at 12:30. I showed up at 11:45 for a manicure. The lady who did my nails was nice, but I was not impressed with the manicure I received. I keep very short nails and needed the dry cuticles taken care of...they weren't. After my nails I waited for my hair appointment. I waited 40 minutes. No one acknowledged the fact that I had to wait, or even apologized for the inconvenience. I paid, and left. No one cared. Won't be back. Terrible service. read more

I just got an awesome hair cut/style from here! The staff was super friendly and most importantly my hair turned out great and exactly what I wanted! The cost for a shampoo, haircut and style was $25.00, I couldnt believe it. At most other places they charge anywhere from $60- $90 and they don't do nearly as good of job as they did. I have really long, thick, curly hair and usually when I arrive to a saloon I get a huge 'sigh' and rolling of the eyes because it takes so long for them to do it. Not here, I kept getting compliments on how beautiful my hair is and she wasnt rushed at all and finished it just the way I wanted it. (Yes, most places wont even finish my hair because they say the next client is waiting.....how rude!) I love this place and will keep going back :) read more

Went here a few weeks ago and had my hair done by Nada. I got bialage highlight a partial and a hair cut and it was just over $100. Great price!! I have gotten sooooo many compliments on my hair and a few of my coworkers have gone to see her now. They love the results too. First visit at the 32nd Street and Union Hills location. I live very close but never considered trying it out because I've been going to Ulta Salon out of habit. My last few cuts at Ulta were disappointing so I decided to give it a try. From the initial phone contact, this place was top notch from start to finish. I was even contacted to let me know I could come early if able. Walked in to a friendly welcome, immediately in the chair for a wash, followed by the best cut I've had in years!
