After a very disappointing Groupon purchase for mani pedi for the week in AZ of which they were booked solid, I was on a mission to find a GOOD mani pedi. Cheap would be best, but after no foot attention during the winter and several days of flip flops, attention to detail was a must. Interestingly enough, this place was only a couple streets from our resort and had great reviews. The catch, the reviews were for the stylists. But, according to their website, they did nails and even better, had open time within 2 hour. Great, just enough time to eat leisurely and then head over to my appointment. I arrived a few minutes early and was told that Zara was just finishing up with her previous client and she would be right with me. I was invited to sit and offered water, tea or coffee while I waited. They had a kitchen like setup inside this huge salon. The place has an upstairs and downstairs and people are all over. Very neat setup. Not your typical salon or nail salon. Very soon I met Zara. Wow! What a spunky woman. A wonderful Armenian lady that you will instanly fall in love with!! She started right in on my manicure as we chatted and laughed. I went for a basic buff, no polish since it won't do at work. I needed cuticle work or I would have skipped the mani all together. The mani was not where Zara shined, it was the pedi. Though it did include all the usual stuff including the hand and arm massage. After my mani was done, I got into the spa chair and the majic began. I told Zara right off that I needed lots of callus work for the aformentioned reasons. Nail places never do well enough on calluses, until Zara. After a good soak, she proceeded to spend at least 20 minutes on my calluses. Wow. Great. Excellent toe care. Greagt color suggestion. Excellent massage. Over the top great. 1 hour and 20 or so minutes after I arrived, I was relaxed and looking fabulous and ready for flip flop wear. I will tell you that this was the most expensive mani pedi that I have ever had. But I really think it was worth it. My feet have never looked so good and the amount of time Zara spent on me was amazing. She is such a wonderful person, so fun and lively. I highly recommend you check her out, especially for a pedicure, and tell her that the "beautiful California girl" recommended you check her out (that is how she said she would remember me, though I think she says everyone is beautiful... that is just how she sees the world). I loved Zara and will be back to see her on a return trip for sure. read more

Went to get a haircut from Sarah H at Prova Salon after buying a coupon from Buywithme. Sarah did a great job on my cut; she is very professional, laid back and easy to talk to. I loved the way she styled my hair after the cut. With most of my haircuts I hate the way they style it (my hair is thick and a PAIN to style with just a blow-dryer), but the way she styled it looked great! I've been trying to find a great hair stylist since my last stylist moved and will definitely be going back to see Sarah from now on! read more

For the first time in my life I feel like I have a hair gal. That one person who I can count on not to butcher my head and make helpful suggestions that will not end in teasing and loads of hairspray. I just started going to Prova a little over a month ago after meeting one of their fabulous stylists while attending a "girls night out" with some friends. Sarah is wonderful, laid back, and knows what she is doing (and she is still "in school") I can only imagine how wonderful the rest of their stylists are if I am raving about someone who officially starts taking clients in January. Throughout the holidays they are doing Sassy Hours which provides food and wine and waxing, hair cut, and deep conditioning specials. The salon itself is gorgeous and open. read more

I have been going to Prova for over 2 years now and seeing Sarah H. Hair stylists and their clients have and interesting relationship because who else in the service industry do you see 12 times a year?( well at least for men). In my two years at Prova it has gone through some changes but it is a nice and newly updated place. Everyone is friendly and it is in a good location. I can almost always get in with Sarah with a day or two notice and rarely if ever have to wait if I am there on time. Another bonus is that she always offers me a beverage, no not water or coffee, diet coke, wine, beer - yes beer. It just adds a little something. The rates are reasonable compared to any other upscale salon offering men's hair cuts from a master stylist. Sarah is also always doing promotional deals which is great and best of all her cuts are always consistent. I always enjoy my time there whether Sarah and I agree on keeping our yapper's shut because it's just not a good day, or we are chatting about cats and other odd stylist/client banter. read more

I came across Prova - they tailor to your waxing, nails, and salon needs. I was offered a hot beverage when I was checked in (definitely a nice touch!). My stylist was extremely professional and listened to all my likes/dislikes. My hair came out exactly how I like it! I love it when a stylist listens to you :) A few days after my visit, I was called with a follow up to ensure I was happy with my visit and my haircut. I have NEVER received that at any salon. This is a place that truly deserves more than 5 stars. Everyone at this salon is amazing. My daughter and I both got color and highlights and I got a Brazillian Blowout. The end results were amazing but the entire day/process was great! The staff is amazing! I have never seen a salon (or anywhere for that matter) where everyone worked together and helped each other and just made all of the customers feel special. My stylist, Diane K., is unbelievably talented and creative, the color/highlights in my hair are gorgeous! I went in a frizzy mess with a picture from Pinterest of hair I liked and walked out feeling like a movie star. Isn't that why we go to salons? I just returned home from my second visit with DIANE at Prova Salon on the corner of Tatum and Shea. I had a color and cut and last time I had color and highlights. I have gooten sooooo many compliments. The blonde color is perfect and looks just like when I was a kid. I am not sure what color products they use at Prova but my color stays on without fading at all. The higlights are just perfect too. Diane is great and fun to talk to. She also cuts my very picky teenaged son's hair and he has never been happier. Happily for me, I never feel like she is pushing me to spend more - if I'm not interested in her ideas, we move on. I'm very selective about who touches my hair. I've been going to someone for quite some time, but their location is not the most convenient. Last year I met Kristen Brown, one of the hairdressers at Prova. Something inside me said I should consider her services. For me, finding someone who has the ability to listen and respect my needs is half the battle. They also need to offer their professional expertise and of course competently perform the service. About six months after meeting Kristen I found myself in desperate need of a hair cut. My regular hairdresser wasn't available so I decided to give Kristen a chance. I'm so glad I did. When I was done I was pleasantly surprised. From the messaging shampoo to the great cut and versatile style Kristen worked her magic. Even my husband commented on the end result. Not only do I love this place in general, but it is the ONLY place that I go to for waxing and Kelly is the only person I let touch my eyebrows because she does such an amazing job. My first visit to Prova Salon was just a week before my wedding day. Sarah Biggs came highly recommended so I took a leap of faith with having her do my cut and color before my big day. I was certainly glad that I did and I've been going to Sarah ever since. Sarah is borderline perfectionist when it comes to cuts and color. I've trusted Sarah with going from a long to a short A-Line Bob and she's done wonders with keeping my hair looking good while it has grown back out. I went to Prova based on the reviews that I read.... BIGG disappointment. Every time she had an opportunity to knock me in the head she did~ while drying my hair in the towel, putting a styling product in my hair.. seriously EVERY time. Then she charged me more than what she had quoted on the phone. Despite the fact that I explained the color of my hair was the absolute lightest it should go she made it blonder! Again, a BIGG disappointment and I won't even tell you about the poor quality of the cut of my hair except that I've been trimming it myself since.... I made a last minute difficult request, about a week ago. I wanted to go from my natural dark brown, long, hair to a shorter, much lighter style. I book an appointment for the next day with Lisa Huskisson. She is a Master Hair Stylist, on the Prova ranking system. I showed her a photo of the color I wanted, and like a walk in the park she transformed my hair EXACTLY the was I wanted. It's stunning, I get compliments on it daily, and somehow remained healthy. Worth it to me! For a master stylist (love Beth G) I walk out spending less than $65 including tip. My hair is what I want it to be. Big and Jersey with a bit of retro vibe. It is completely styled and everyone is SUPER nice! Usually there is the annoying stink eye stylist giving me the once over. lol I do roller derby, nuff said. Not at Prova! The place is cool, clean and I like the plaza that it is located in. I drive 20 minutes to get to this place and will continue to do so. Great job management and staff! read more
