This place is amazing! The perfect place for our whole family. My son got his haircut by Giovanna. She was so wonderful with him. My daughter and I had appointments with Jodie. While my teenage daughter got balayage highlights and while her hair was setting, my hair was colored. Jodie did an amazing job on my cut and color - I will be back for sure. I used a Groupon here, and was a bit apprehensive because (like most ladies) I'm picky about my hair. I was pleasantly surprised! Tina was my stylist, she was sweet as pie, nailed my color and all in good timing. It's important to me to have a stylist who not only wants to get the color correct, but also holds concern for the health of my hair. I was so happy with her performance, I booked my next appointment before I left. This is not a trendy, overpriced, pretentious salon. The staff genuinely friendly and take pride in their work. I am never one to post negative reviews. However, I do not want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. This was my third time at J-Lo Salon with HANNAH PEEVYHOUSE. I always gave her the benefit of the doubt because she got my hair color kind of right even though she always rushed and took cigarette smoke breaks in between doing my hair. I still liked the dye so I continued to go even though it was a different shade of red literally each time. On this last visit, however, she botched it. First off-she couldn't blow dry my hair straight because she was too busy (2nd time she has done this). Second- she booked a haircut in between my appointment. Third-After my haircut I went back into the salon about five minutes later for a photo and she was smoking a cigarette... so much for being too busy to blow dry my hair??? Fourth-I also asked her to face frame my hair and SHE GAVE ME BANGS. Straight up eighth grade little girl bangs. When I messaged her that I was in shock at the haircut(I couldn't tell that is was bad before I left because she wouldn't dry it) all she said was "come back then." No apology, no wanting to go out of the way to fix it, nothing. To say that I balled at how she did my hair would be an understatement and I have to use hairspray to keep the bangs down or I have to wear hats. The bangs are completely UNEVEN and way too short. She was careless and rushed and I am so disappointed and devastated. I've seen the warning signs each time I went in and I still gave her the benefit of the doubt because we had good banter. I will never do that again. HANNAH PEEVYHOUSE is her name and she does not seem to care about her clientele. My two sisters went to her before me and both stopped going as well because they were not happy with her work and the fact that she smokes cigarettes during a haircut and rushes. Again- her name is HANNAH PEEVYHOUSE and she works at J-Lo Salon in Scottsdale. If you care about your hair and being respected-don't go to her. read more

I went to HANNAH PEEVYHOUSE because she told me she was a blonde specialist. This was not the case. I left with orange hair and I was so utterly devastated! I never wanted to leave my house because I was so embarrassed. People asked me over and over again if I died my hair orange and I was appalled. She was always working on more than one client at a time which isn't hard to believe considering the work she executed. If not the color of my hair, the fact that I sat in that chair for hours while she smelled of cigarette smoke, breathing it in my face, was enough to never go back there. The next salon I went to told me my hair was so damaged and awful from what had been done to it. They also told me my hair had three different tones of color when I asked Hannah for one solid color all the way through! HANNAH PEEVYHOUSE made me so self conscious and damaged my hair. I took my 7 year old niece in for a hair cut at Salon J-Lo. We were able to call about an hour prior and book an appointment which was great given the short notice. Once inside, the salon is very cute and modern; the staff attentive and friendly. With the help of Hannah, our stylist, we were in and out the door in one hour (shampoo, cut and style) Hannah has transformed her stringy, fine hair into an adorable bob :) I highly recommend requesting Hannah. She is very personable, professional and does great with kids! She kept my niece occupied and sitting still the entire time which is not always the easiest task with little ones.
