I had a good day so I took myself out to dinner at the Point. Great local beers on tap and truly…read moreamazing looking cocktails (for some reason a lot of people were getting dirty martinis- not my drink but they looked legit). The food menu is limited but comes correct. They just switched it up. Friends, you NEED to get a Burger Pocket. It looks like a flying saucer. Inside is a tender, juicy burger grilled to perfection and embraced by gooey American cheese. It comes with dipping sauce and pickles on the side. I never realized how annoying burger topping slippage was until the Burger Pocket solved a problem I didn't know I had. The house made chips & onion dip are also delicious, although I needed at least twice as much dip. The vibes are cozy. The clientele is local & diverse. Solid option on Wickenden / College Hill.

This is a solid place to watch a game! Shotgun review:…read more - Private parking lot with plenty of spots - Friendly staff - Decent wings* - Lots of TVs - Cramped seating in TV area** *We tried the Korean BBQ wings & they were pretty tasty. Not too messy. The celery served with the wings was downright squishy, though, which gave me the ick. **The bar & high top seating area is definitely the best place to watch the game, with multiple huge screens. The area is a bit cramped, unfortunately. It felt a bit clausty. The floors, tables, & menus were sticky, too.

Good spot for a happy hour drink and snack or a great place to watch the game with friends! Both…read morethe food and drinks are high quality for a sports bar. The ambience: The bar area can be loud and boisterous so you have to be in the mood for that vibe. That being said, it's fun and welcoming with great service. The food and drinks: Their specialty cocktails are strong, taste good and are affordably priced. I had a cherry one (can't remember the name) but it was flavorful and not too sweet. They also have a large selection of beers both on tap and in cans. The shrimp Poboy is absolutely huge and stuffed with well seasoned fried shrimp and the accompanying sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. We ordered a greek salad to go and it was a generous portion covered with kalamata olives, feta cheese and picked vegetables. My only tip would be to have them put toppings on the side next time to keep the lettuce crispy. Otherwise a very satisfying salad! We tried to order the fish sandwich but both times they have been sold out so I guess it must be good! Definitely plan to go back to try more menu items and cocktails!

Two hour break on Sunday morning volleyball tournament? Breakfast please. I scored some on street…read moreparking early morning to get to a hella early volleyball game at the Providence convention center. So let me be clear. I know there are some great breakfast spots nearby. Like legit brunch go to spots. But - I was not willing to give up my free parking to get there. Ha! Also did not want the tired ole breakfast sammy at the venue. So Yelp steered me here. Was thinking I'd an omelette off menu was where I'd end up but got there and found out there's a buffet with a an omelette station...was it more expensive? Not sure but for $25 there was plenty of fruit, breakfast sides, waffles, and so much more. Abraham whipped up an amazing veggie egg white omelette for me. Service was attentive and prompt. The vibe is your standard hotel dining area - forgot to mention it is the Hilton restaurant. Entrance is through the hotel lobby. It was a great sit down breakfast.

Drink prices fine. Not exactly a foodie place, but comfortable and easy to get in after a game. Menu was pretty diverse. Kids, families, sporty feel to it. TV's.

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews, but this wasn't cool…read more They just opened and I walked in with my son. We sat, and then the music came on - a bit too loud and not something I was excited to hear during dinner. Since we were the only two people besides staff, I figured it might be okay to ask them to lower the volume or maybe change the tunes. Got a firm no on the volume as well as the selection. Honestly, I was surprised when the bartender said no. I got up and left. No thoughts on returning.

The burger I got was excellent, they were able to accommodate my food allergies, and the service was lovely. Unfortunately, it was louder than any bar I've been to in a decade. I don't know if it's normally like this on a Saturday night, or whether it was the individual parties that were happening there, but we literally had people jumping up and down behind us with more than one large group that was whooping and cheering intermittently, such that we had to absolutely scream to be heard by the folks at our table. I left hoarse. It was more like a club than a tavern the night we visited. Heads up--the ladies room is a single room, with no separate mirror/make up space. There were a lot of women who wanted to touch up or actually use the facilities the night we visited. Prepare for a line. We ultimately left and had a better social experience at the bar right across the street. I would definitely return to The Congress Tavern for lunch... but I wouldn't go back on a Saturday night.
