    Petit Filet Baked potato

Food was just ok, for the price I expected way more. I got French onion soup, filet and a baked potato. Soup was delicious but not hot, filet was very dry -good thing I got sauce on the side. Service was poor we got all of our entrees, however two members of our party ordered masked potatoes and they came out about 10 minutes after the steaks. Probably won't go back.

I'm giving 2 stars for the quality of food and the server joe who was great. Only 2 stars because I felt like they were racist. We had 5pm reservations when they opened. We wait to get seated 2 women debates where to put us then the hostess brings us all the way to the back room. I asked for a booth the women said they have to split the customers up for the waiters. Ok I thought I understood but all the booths were empty as we were the 6th couple to be seated as they opened. We sat in the back room all by our selves until we finished eating then 1 table of 3 women were seated in the back area. As we left there we're still some booths empty but noticed a lot were taken all by white people. I think as we had reservations and were the 6th couple to be seated we should of been able to get a booth. I mean the meal came out to $300 for 2 people. It's ok we won't be back. The server joe did a great job.

Arrived at Twin Rivers Casino in Rhode Island for an Invited Dinner Event. I meet up with several friends and decided to have a nice casual dinner. I choose Fred and Steve's Steakhouse since i was staying away from carbs and wanted to try out what the hype was about. We ordered the Carpaccio, Clams Casino, Mushroom Florentine, Crab Cakes, Beet Salad, and the Tomahawk Rib Eye special. The Beet salad and Carpaccio was excellent, a must have. The clams and mushrooms were good but not something I would rave about. The Tomahawk was the disappointing part of the meal. Not sure if the steak was aged or maybe the quality of the beef, but it lacked taste. I asked the waiter for some of the seasoning salt that they use, so that I could improve the flavor. To my surprise the waiter pointed at the table salt shaker and told me that's the only salt they use in the restaurant. I was full but definitely not satisfied. I take great pride into marinading my steaks and when I eat at a steakhouse I expect a nice tender juicy piece of meat. I ended up ordering a Porterhouse to go. Not sure about the sauce it came with but again, the meat was lacking taste. If I were the owners I'd seriously consider changing the head chef. Maybe that's why the restaurant had plenty of availability on a Friday night. I will be returning in March, not sure if i will eat at Fred and Steve's but if i do hopefully we will have a better experience.

I usually only leave a review if I think 5 stars was deserved but I feel the need to write this. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday before we went to the casino and everything started great. Our server Pam was fantastic, very sweet, helpful and the service was great. My boyfriend got the clam chowder and he said it was good as well as his steak which he enjoyed. I ordered the prime rib which was cooked perfectly and really nice. Our mistake was ordering the lobster and truffle Mac and cheese to share, it was very fishy tasting and the lobster was chewy so we did not finish it. We didn't say anything about it as we don't like to complain. he paid and we left to go down to the casino. Less than an hour later I was running to the bathroom with terrible stomach cramping where I violently threw up. 15 minutes later my boyfriend was running to the bathroom as well. We had to end my birthday night early and went home where we were sick all night long. I believe the lobster that was served in the dish was old or contaminated. I know mistakes happen as I use to work in the restaurant business but I felt the need to write this review so that maybe it won't happen to someone else.

All and all we had a great experience. The food was good and the service was excellent. The prices however were high. I am guessing for those with casino points they can eat for free but if you are paying full cost be prepared for a lofty bill without the excellence of what you expect. For example baked potato side is $9. That just seems over the top for a dinner without a table cloth! But it is good, just know what to expect.

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good.
