This facility wants money, more money, and does not want to put the work in to receive said money. The last executive director who was fired had no etiquette whatsoever and became very narcissistic when I set boundaries with her and the facility. Little did she and the staff know, when I was being vetted I received a copy of the court visitor report and to my surprise, Arcadia threw me under the bus stating I was not fit to be a guardian because I was an actor, see attached picture. If this is not enough to go here, continue reading the shit show that is Arcadia. This place lacks professionalism, accountability, and respect. The new executive director is the same as the last executive director -- gaslights, claims to never hear what you are saying and makes you question if you are really in the right for not wanting your loved one or yourself to live here -- no you are not crazy, a narcissistic soul is to not be messed with. With a narcissist, 5 + 5 = 2 to them and you know it's 10 but they will find a way to argue their way through their truth lie. During the time my father was here, he went to the ER three times, one of which was an ICU visit. The executive director then wrote to me that how could I think that's a lot of time to be at the hospital when the whole point of moving my father to a care facility was to keep him out of the hospital and instead he went and the ICU visit he had pneumonia and was on a ventilator and all times he had a UTI with the main issues he was in the hospital for. The level of inadequacy in this facility especially from the two executive directors is beyond dark and the facility is to not be trusted. The last ER visit I told the social worker to move him to the new care facility that was better suited for my father's needs and instead she worked with Arcadia and like the last times, I was blown smoke and mirrors. After this visit I called to speak to the in house social worker and asked if he was brushing his teeth and taking showers and she said no and then Jose Garcia told me I heard no such thing. The weird part is that after the social worker Candy told me of this who had a nurse with her when this conversation took place, she was let go immediately -- wrongful termination is illegal. I have every right to know what was happening with my father and Arcadia wanted to never provide accurate information until I got resources to find out they were lying right through their teeth. When it came down to moving my father, they did not help with discharge, made the process extremely difficult and continued to harass me about my decision. They then said my dad owed for 30 days for a notice I never saw the entire time I was there nor did I sign and being his guardian I'm legally supposed to be shown all documents especially when a signature is needed. Arcadia thinks they are above the law and they are learning through my experience they are not. Tammy the nurse then told me my dad owned furniture but never in anything I've signed did it ever say that the room furniture is the tenant's responsibility. Arcadia will make up rules as they go along to try and drag you through the mud in hopes you will give up to them and let dark energy win. Jose the new executive director was extremely rude to various outside medical staff trying to help me with my father and sent photos of other residents to me with my father in the photo. The social worker she worked with at Milwaukie Emergency geriatric psych was extremely disrespectful to me for getting a nurse care manager to do research into these evil souls and give me the real truth about my fathers medical chart. Google what an ARCHON is, they are Fallen angels and operate from ego and drain human life force energy, money, resources, etc. Both executive directors with the social worker at the Milwaukie psych unit are all one and karma has already sent the original executive director to her appropriate timeline. Jose, I hope the universe is kind to you because you can't avoid the time continuum and your karma is manifesting quite well. Peace and blessings, when you mess with me, you mess with my whole divine team! To tie it all together, I paid over 10k a month for my dad to not take his medication for almost two months and was then notified when it was too late sending him to the ER and then right when he came back to Arcadia he missed three sets of medicine and the executive director denied the whole thing yet I have physical proof that my information is accurate. If paying Arcadia results in multiple ER visits, missed medication, no showers, poor mouth hygiene, then I am in full legal rights to have made the emergency move for my father!

I will limit my observation to the willingness of middle and senior level staff to treat my parents with respect, listening carefully to what they say and working diligently to craft solutions that work. We recently presented them with some unusual problems. They came together, worked outside the box and creatively, energetically, proactively turned a family crisis into a little oasis of safety and calm. I'll let others talk about the normal day to day routines that make a place like this a home for our honored parents and loved ones. And it's all good, believe me. But, when we needed help ... they were there. Impressive. That's a sign of deep corporate cultural health.

I was one of the early residents of their villas, and they were initially a great improvement to the facility. I felt the facility fully deserved a five-star rating. However while the staff is still outstanding, the quality of services has degraded. It seems that they added over fifty villas to the facility but failed to increase the kitchen size, the transportation support, and likely some of the staffing needs to maintain the high standards of three years ago.

I was even able to get a haircut in their Salon before I left. the only negative is it was impossible to connect on the phone to try to get a room reserved, way understaffed there but that is the only place that was an issue. Finally, my son went to the facility and was able to meet with them and reserve a room. I would go back in a heartbeat if I had the need.

This lady was grumpy and it looked like she already put on her overtime. Maybe she did! But that was strike 1. The ladies in my team (1st meeting with them all) were cordial and polite, so nothing much to write about them, but I did met a new friend, or should I say an old friend . . . . so I have someone to sit & converse with. Here comes the manager of the food & beverage department, serving us. She smiled, when talking with us, but she wasn't smiling when she walked away. I don't expect someone to smile all day, like 100%, I don't. . . but the kind of reaction I was reading was . . . . her staff aren't there because of cut-backs. That kind of smile, so she's putting more hours. Probably another reason why the reception was 'grumpy? The manager, did gave me the drink I asked for, so that's a bonus. Now comes the food. There are many selections there to choose from. The oil & vinegar dressing was very, very thick. What makes oil & vinegar thick? Beats me! Cornstarch? Flour? Glue? LOL If I wanted thick dressing on my salad, I would have chosen Ranch or Thousand Island, maybe Blue Cheese? I was hungry, so I have no choice but eat all that I picked, plus a small slice of chocolate cake. Yum! One lady had very little on her plate, my rooster could eat that, and she's got good control if she was trying to lose weight. Or it was just not appealing to her. But why would anyone pay $9 for a buffet, if you're gonna eat like a rooster. My new friend tried their soup, she said it was VERY hot, but good. OK, now it's raining so hard. So I stayed a bit longer, but eventually I have to walk out back where I parked my car, but I don't like getting wet, not even for a spit. I asked the lady @ the front desk, if there was a back exit, and again, she was grumpy @ me, no smile, and the tone of her voice just shows she's now getting mad @ me. I also met up with the food & beverage manager, again . . . . and she pointed me where the bathroom was, but still no smile, like she had a lot in her mind. Was her job hanging by a thread, and overworked like all the rest of us? What ever the reasons, THEIR EMPLOYEES just doesn't have the hospitality one gets when they walk inside a room. UPDATE: I did an event here, and I can tell you how the people who lives here behaved, including their employees. SOMEONE must have read my 1st paragraph, because they now have a very friendly GREETER working behind the reception desk! Thanks for that! They are like a large family, they are helpful, friendly, and they have many people who are residents volunteer - getting more involved than other retirement facilities I've visited. They have activities to get them more involved, and as volunteers, you are part the 'community'. It's not like, you go out to have a meal, then go back to your room. Their gift shop are run by volunteers. Because of my observations, I will add another star!

When you do finally speak with an employee they basically say it's the resident (family member) causing any or all issues that may arise. There is ZERO accountability on the facilities end. The finger is pointed at the resident for many different reasons, some may be concerning but then again, those go without being addressed as well. Favoritism runs high. Be careful your mother or father may be the nurse or the activities directors favorite today but tomorrow the communication may suddenly be cut off , leaving your loved one to wonder what they did wrong. Emails, phone calls, text messages go days sometimes weeks unanswered. In my case not at all from the resident services director when we were in the process of moving my mother. December 17th I left a message. To this day I have not received a return phone call. How is that acceptable. Don't bother calling the CEO. His assistant is his assistant. My phone call was not taken seriously and the return message was as if nothing had been talked about. So disappointing. They will defend whatever they see fit when it comes to staff. To me, anything that concerns me about my mother, I should be able to get a prompt answer and in my opinion the place that is in charge of her daily care, should show a little more compassion and empathy and urgency to have addressed those concerns.. You will not get that here. All of this comes from the top and is a domino effect as to how things are run. They follow their lead and it's obvious that the concern is just not there. Like I mentioned, Unless your loved one is favored and or well liked. Otherwise the care is subpar. If your loved one is difficult like mine, expect the blame for any issues to be shifted in that direction. Assumption does not and will not take responsibility for any mistakes or mishaps that may occur on their end. This is everywhere at Assumption. Somehow my 86 years old mother was able to hide and hoard medications. 2 bottles full of pills. I believe that shows serious lack of care and is potentially very dangerous. The corporate office ignored this subject as if I had made it up. NO follow up, no follow through on this subject at all. Ignored completely. Reception is rude, The website still has the mothers day greeting from 2020, why??? There are no activities going on. Communication is lacking greatly and we moved my mom out in December and were left with a very bad taste in our mouths. I could go on and on but I think you get the gist. I would not recommend Assumption village to anyone looking for a new home and needing to be cared for by someone else. Please take the time to do your research before signing a contract here. Moving a loved one into a facility is a very big decision that should not betaken lightly and needs to be researched, If you are looking for somewhere they will be treated well and you as a family member will feel in the loop as to what is going on, this is not the place for your mother or father.
