She loves what she does and even jokes that she's not sure she can stay away in retirement. I had an especially great reception at the front today. The girls were engaging and laughed at my jokes. Before booking, I specifically asked if they accepted my insurance, and they told me they did. When my husband and I arrived for the appointment today, I asked the receptionist to once again confirm that they accepted my insurance. She checked, then even called someone else to verify. After confirming that they did, I paid my $50 copay. We sat down to complete the paperwork. About 15 minutes later, another employee came out and asked to speak with me. She informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I was shocked and explained that I had now been told twice that they did. Her response was that "it's hard to tell" and that "we can't always know." I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. The fact that a doctor's office "can't always know" if someone's insurance is accepted is absurd. Verifying insurance coverage is a basic responsibility of a medical office. The fact that it's "hard to tell" for the very people whose job it is to verify whether they accept your insurance is ridiculous. It is literally their job to know how to confirm this. These statements do not inspire confidence in their ability to manage something as important as patient care. She also tried to justify the mistake by telling me their paperwork states they aren't responsible for knowing whether their practice accepts your insurance. Since I had just carefully read through the paperwork, I knew that wasn't true. I asked her to show me. She flipped through the pages, quietly read the section to herself, then simply said, "Well, anyways..." when she realized it didn't say what she claimed. I'm relieved I found out they don't accept my insurance before my appointment. However, I had already waited two weeks for this appointment. My husband took time off work to come with me. I've been experiencing spotting during my pregnancy and was anxious to be evaluated and make sure everything was okay. Because this office failed to verify my insurance correctly from the beginning, I'm now back at square one and will likely have to wait even longer to establish prenatal care elsewhere. A couple of additional notes: * This doctor's office was also on a list of providers who took my insurance, which I received from my insurance company * What the paperwork actually says is that they aren't responsible if outside services, such as lab work or imaging, aren't covered by your insurance, and that they only bill insurance for one service per appointment, meaning additional services, such as a wellness exam and an ultrasound, may not be covered. As I was reading those policies before learning they didn't accept my insurance, they already seemed sketchy and problematic to me. It felt like being a patient at this practice would mean having to triple check every decision they made to make sure you didn't get stuck with unexpected bills. * While I was waiting, I was also told that they hadn't even scheduled the ultrasound that was the primary reason for my visit. Their plan was to have me see the provider first and then figure out the ultrasound afterward. That only added to my impression that this office is disorganized and poorly managed. * After leaving, I had to call the office myself to ask how I would be refunded the $50 copay they charged me before realizing they didn't accept my insurance. We will see how long it takes for that to be resolved. This experience was incredibly stressful at a time when I needed reassurance and medical care. I would not recommend this practice.

Dr. Vu performed the surgery, and it has been exactly three months to know if the surgery worked! I saw Dr. Vu today May 15, 2026, and I have healed perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Vu and Dr. Vakalaka. I feel like a new person, and I am so happy. Also, the office is beautiful and serene. The girls in the office are amazing! I have seen at least 5 ENT doctors before so I've gotten fairly good at catching ENT red flags and…read morethis practice has by far more red flags than almost any other practice I've been to. Here's what I've observed so far over a course of 3 months: 1) I was first referred by my PCP in March and couldn't get an appointment til April. Long wait for appointments, sure ok. Minimal wait time in the waiting room tho so that's good. 2) Most of the time you call during normal business hours, no one picks up. Supposedly they are only closed for lunch from 12-1 but it would take me days of calling at 10am and 2pm to reach someone. 3) Over the last 3 months, I was only ever scheduled with the PA, Phillip. He was PHENOMENAL, helpful, kind, and a huge reason I kept coming back. He was so considerate he even made sure i got in quick so I wouldn't get charged for parking. Guess what? By my 4th visit he was "no longer with the practice". I hope he quit bc if they let him go that's pretty a bad business move on their part lol 4) The two girls at the front desk are ok but Miryam the Surgery scheduler is incredibly rude. I had been open about needing my surgery to be treated with urgency bc I wasn't sure how long I'd still be eligible for insurance. They wouldn't even schedule me until my insurance approved everything so I had to wait weeks to even schedule. Ok fine. But when my insurance actually approved the surgery she kept saying it didn't. She even had the audacity to try to blame/gaslight me and say she didn't send the referral for it earlier bc I was "confused about my insurance". I wasn't confused I just didn't know how long I'd still be eligible for! She never even made an attempt to try to schedule me even before I told her about my insurance. So I filed a complaint with my insurance for negligence and refusal of care and ALL OF A SUDDEN I'm getting contacted multiple times over the course of days (by text) saying that I was approved and there were several surgery appointments available for me to take, appointments that were even sooner than what they had told me before. I'm calling BS on that. It seriously got to a point where I had to ask her "Do you guys even want to do this surgery?" Bc it felt like I had to force them to want to take my business bc they kept pushing my appointments far out and giving me the run around 5) Mind you after 3 months and multiple appointments I haven't even seen or MET Dr. Vakkalanka at this point and she's the one who I'm supposed to trust to operate on my unconscious body and conduct a complex revision septoplasty with turbinate reduction ?? Not even her coming in to say hi hello for two seconds. Extremely scary concept to wrap my mind around. 5) This Yelp page claims they have onsite CT imaging and they do NOT, they sent me to an imaging center for that procedure. That could've been due to my insurance but it's worth mentioning. 6) Did I mention the parking isn't even free after 20 minutes so appointments are rushed to accommodate this? To put into context how poor the service here was, I contacted another ENT to take my business to and I already have an appointment scheduled in 4 days. I had my primary surgery in 2020 that apparently didn't permanently fix my deviated septum in my right nostril or enlarged turbinates blocking my left nostril and these issues have worsened over the years and every day I am abusing Vicks inhalers and Vapo Rub just to get through the day. I can only sleep on my left side but really I have no airflow through either side and I have valve collapse. And I could've been getting help sooner and breathing again but I was trying to be patient and understanding and give the benefit of doubt. Don't waste your time and energy like I did, it's not worth it!

When we came last January for a trial day I knew that we would have substantial challenges moving into a classroom setting. Our son was diagnosed at an early age and does have severe symptoms, as well as being non verbal. But after spending the last four years with various agencies in the DTT model at home, we were ready for a change. After our intake assessment, it was clear that our son wasn't ready for a classroom setting. So instead they made the offer for us to access the clinic for ABA and push into the Academy over time. He's really blossomed in this model. He's totally acclimated to the classroom now, and will be moving into the classroom full time soon. Any complaints I've had have been met with solutions and if there was a problem they could not solve they referred me to someone who could. Mr. Sam and Karlie are great teachers, and the classroom is amazing. Music therapy is twice a week and they have clinics for OT and speech. Once a month there are Saturday camps, and Friday evening camps as well. These don't have an additional cost except for siblings and as long as you have therapy hours available. Holiday events have been so much fun! The school doesn't require verbal only like every other competitor in the area that refuses to serve any other population other than tier 1 verbal kids. So that was a huge plus for us. The program is year round. Overall we are really satisfied, and look forward to the 2019-2020 school year.

Most parents would prefer someone they know to do these sessions , not some random other employee. What parent wants a sick therapist bringing germs into their home? I know from personal experience that Yvonne Bruinsma and her staff genuinely care about these kids. She isn't doing this to make money. She's doing it to change lives and finds her purpose in serving ,as do most of her staff.

Unfortunately, the office system itself is extremely frustrating. I've been with this practice for over a year, and not once has anyone answered the phone when I've called. On one occasion, I finally reached someone after a long hold, only to be transferred back to the main menu after 40 minutes, at which point I hung up. Recently, I had early signs of mastitis and needed to be seen urgently by any available provider. After being unable to get through, I went to urgent care and was seen and treated within an hour. If you're comfortable relying on urgent care for time-sensitive issues, this practice may work for you. The doctors themselves are great, but the office communication system needs serious improvement.
