My son bumped his head in the playground with lots of blood gushing out and we came to Providence Urgent Care to get it treated. He only waited around 5 minutes after checking him in. He was seen by the nurse and the nurse practitioner, not a doctor. They cleaned him up and luckily no need for stitches. This was a walk-in and first time at this location. read more

I really want to give 4 stars, and I will get to why in bit. I had a rogue mason jar that decided to have it's bottom break jaggedly off in one piece while washing dishes. I got a scary bad cut, and it was obvious it was going to be a late night in the ER. Hubby recommended Rockwood urgent care, which had 2 hours before closing. I was turned away when we got there, but they were so busy so I understood. On the way to Sacred Heart ER we saw this place, and they too were not near closing time. I was met at the door by a nurse, and the first question was "Do you have an appointment?" Well who makes an appointment at an urgent care place? I told her I was already turned away from one place, and just where should I now go? She then looked at my finger and let us in. Everyone was so so nice and helpful. After 5 mins I was in an exam room. 5 mins later the doctor came in. 20 mins later he finished stitching me up. He even called me the next morning to see how I was doing! Not his nurse, the doctor himself! So there you have it, and the only reason I wanted to ding a star was the appointment issue. No one wants to give a rave review for 6 stitches, but these professionals were wonderful and caring, and they deserve the recognition. read more

After about 12 yrs of chronic health conditions I'm a self-proclaimed Urgent Care & ER expert critic lol Since this location opened I've only gone here unless I needed the ER. They're always very efficient but also take the time to really hear me. They take care of me like I would a family member. To top it off their charts notes are always on point and I've never had any issues with billing insurance like I often do with most of my other providers! read more

I severely injured a digit. I needed to confirm it wasn't broken, and get help stabilizing it because it was flopping around and was very painful. After waiting 3 hours, I finally received an x-ray. 30 minutes later a man came in. I assumed he was a PA or NP, but he did not introduce himself, nor explain his credentials, and he wasn't wearing a nametag - for all I knew he could have been the janitor. He asked me to flex the digit, and if it was bruised. He was looking right at it, but asked me if it was bruised! I showed him the bruising. He did not touch it or examine it further. Awhile later he came in and announced to the air "it is not broken." And his hand reached for the door handle. I was too stunned to protest and demand actual care, as I left the building without so much as a splint, any instructions about self care or what to watch for, or maybe even a referral for evaluation of the instability? After overcoming the shock of the non-care I had just received, I went home and researched the situation online, made my own splint, found my own hand surgeon, and had surgery a week later for a torn ligament. Needless to say, I found the phoned-in response to my injury at Prov UC to be very underwhelming, very disappointing, even offensive. In fact, I need to say, the "provider" did not do his job, which is to go beyond pronouncements of test results, to actually "providing" CARE for the patient's health problem with something, anything! We were driving through on our way to Coeur d'Alene and I had a horrible sinus infection and pink eye. The staff, doctors, PAs...everyone we encountered was fantastic. The wait was literally nothing - less than five minutes. Dr. Strongin came in very soon after my vitals were taken and was very thorough. WARNING: THIS IS NOT A WALK IN CLINIC. THIS IS AN URGENT CARE FACILITY AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY. Stupid me. In the past I've gone to walk in clinics when I was with Group Health and with the Everett Clinic. I was always charged my regular co-pay. I thought that this would be the same. I live in Spokane Valley and our Providence doctors' clinic made a big deal out of the fact that now we were going to have this beautiful new urgent care facility opening up near the Valley Mall this Spring. When it opened we were referred there when there were no appointments available at mine and my husband's GP, or my daughter's pediatrician's office. I thought it was strange that they didn't want a co-pay. We would be billed. Oh, Okay. Unfortunately, my husband didn't say anything when the bills came. We'd all gone at least once since it opened and it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago I actually opened one of the bills myself. I was SHOCKED to see that I was charged over $150--ten times more then my regular office copay!!! So, yeah, we'll probably go there again. It's still cheaper and faster then going to the emergency room. I will be a lot more careful what we go in for. I just REALLY wish that someone had informed me of the cost when we checked in. I'm pretty sure there was nothing posted and I know no one at our doctors' offices or this clinic said a thing about the higher expense. We've used this clinic several times this year and have been consistently satisfied. The front desk, nursing and physician staff were professional, caring and efficient. We never waited long (5-15 minutes). It doesn't replace our primary care doc but is a great alternative for emergent issues. read more

Every time I go To Providence urgent care, I am more and more impressed... We just left after a 20 minute in and out for a sick little boy and my six-year-old says "wow, that was the best doctor appointment I ever had!"... Not to mention when I needed emergency care for an incapacitated teen, they did everything they could and got him in an ambulance immediately and were ultimately responsible for saving his life. I have many stories where they have exceeded expectations and provided superior care. Let's just say I'm pretty disappointed that we're moving away and won't have providence urgent care to rely on when these unfortunate situations arise. read more

The waiting room took a while, but everyone was super nice and they made sure everyone had their masks on, which was much appreciated. However, once the doctor came in, he was not very nice. The poster behind me said we provide blankets, extra pillows, juice, crackers, etc. upon request for your utmost comfort, and since I loveeeeeee juice, I asked for some. I never got any. Also, the doctor made me hold my foot in the air while he was cutting it open. I told him maybe he could get some of those extra pillows from the poster for me to rest my foot on and he just glared at me. I was also curious about the procedure as medical stuff is of interest to me, but he was not very patient with my questions. He also told me that it would hurt super super bad which was not very helpful because I was already scared. In conclusion, a little slow, the employees are all super nice, except for the doctor, who made my experience bad. read more

Needs lots of upgrading. Haven't received results in 8 days. Phone system is either busy or mailboxes are full. Out of nasal test kits and also not vary positive and/or knowledgeable on antibody tests. Looks like a money pit for Providence. Also had to go back 3 times before test- 3 hr wait- 1 1/2 wait until arrived before opening 7:45 am then 1/2 hr until test. Partner also had 2 tests there and on second test they overlooked her finally after about 1 hour attended to her. read more

The patients are there to be seen coz they're not feeling well and giving them attitude will make them feel worse. Treat pAtients with respect and compassion. I have been to this place now four or five times with various family members. Every single time, every single person has been amazing. They're funny and warm and truly seem to care about us. Today we met Dr Scott Strongin and he did not disappoint. Way better than other urgent care centers I've been to. I went to the clinic on 29th and paid my co-pay and was told that is all I would have to pay. The P.A. looked at my eye for a few seconds, wrote out a prescription and I left, went next door to get my 4ml, $47.00 eye drops. A week later I went to an eye Dr. be said to not use the drops. Later I received a bill from the urgent care clinic for an eye exam. She looked at my eye for a couple seconds. Never will I go back there. read more

I have to say that I typically really like the doctors at this urgent care but I had a horrible experience this past weekend with a fill-in doctor named Dr. CariJean Queen. I have chronic back pain, and my job is very hard on my back. I have to lift and carry dogs over 100 lbs. daily and although I lift with my legs, my back still has to bear some of the weight while carrying a dog. Anyway, I went to urgent care because my lower back had been exceptionally painful for several days and my left foot felt numb and the toes were cold to the touch. My examination consisted of reflex checks on my knees and ankles. That was it. Dr. Queen informed me the sole reason I have back pain is because I am fat. She said she is certain it is not a spinal problem - how she determined that even BEFORE her pathetic exam, I have no idea. I am painfully aware that I am probably 30 pounds overweight. She, however, made me feel as though I was morbidly obese. She went on about how she gets up at 5am to go jogging and compared my back pain to when she was pregnant. It was very insulting to have a doctor talk more about how great she is than about what is going on with me. It was insulting and aggravating. Then she acted as if I was there only to get narcotics and my back pain is not actually real. That is so far from the truth! I work in the medical field, if I wanted narcotics, I could easily get them. What I wanted was a doctor to help determine if my left foot was going numb because of my spine or if it is because of my heart/blood flow. She could have spent more time doing a thorough examination and MUCH less time talking about how I need to be more like her. I am SO glad she works in the Valley and I will hopefully never have to depend on her unprofessional and insulting attitude again. read more

I have visited this Urgent Care facility on S. Division three times in the last 6 months or so, for various reasons. Each time, the experience has been very satisfactory. The front desk staff have been cheerful and professional. They handled my somewhat unusual insurance plan without a hitch. In spite of being warned to expect a TSA-style wait to be seen, the longest I have waited after just walking in was less than 20 minutes, even with a fairly full waiting room. All of the assistants and physicians that I saw were friendly, competent and inspired confidence. Each examination was quick, but I felt that my conditions were evaluated appropriately - even ordering additional testing if needed - and the post-examination instructions were clear. I never felt like I was being rushed through the process. No complaints here and I would recommend this Providence Urgent Care to anyone, based on my experiences. read more
