We needed a living-area rug, 9X12. In August, 2022, my friend gave my name to Metin, one of their principals, who shortly contacted me about when they would be in our area. He was very anxious to come and show us their rugs. I told him right away that our taste was very similar to our friend's. I assumed--and he agreed--that he had records showing the many rugs my friend had bought, especially since he'd bought additional rugs directly from Metin. We were pleased to think of seeing samples of similar rugs in our living room. To our disappointment, Metin brought only traditional, oriental-style rugs to show us, not at all consistent with our decor, our taste, and nothing at all like our friend's. He was, however, quite critical of the Stickley wool rugs, with simple lines, in our home, which I dismissed as a sales tactic. We felt sorry that he'd make the trip from New Jersey, but tried to emphasize that he might take a look at our furnishings (simple and spacious, with a mixture of modern and Mission style) and look up the several rugs he'd sold our friend. I also described our preference as simple, monochromatic, or subtle geometric design. If he were in our area again (Capital District NY), we'd be happy to see rugs like this. He returned with a disappointing mixture of similar rugs to those we'd seen the first time. Finally, he showed us a plain teal-green wool rug which was at least simple enough. We bought it, partly because we felt strangely obligated, although he started by quoting us such a high price that we were astonished--well above $15,000 (my friend did not pay anywhere near this much, even for the rugs he bought in the US). We finally paid $11,000 for the rug, with mixed feelings, both about the rug and about spending so much. After this, despite my active discouragement, I have continued to receive a barrage of texts and phone calls from Metin, wanting to sell us more rugs. No increasingly plain discouragement mattered; this continued. In less than three years since the 8/22 purchase, the rug had one noticeable snag. I tried to find a local repairer, but the next time Metin texted me, I mentioned that we did need our rug repaired. Metin arrived at our home, told us we had no warranty after three years, and first quoted us $7,500 to do the repairs, as he said the surrounding area needed to be completely rewoven (see picture of snag). He also kept finding additional snags that we hadn't even noticed, they were so small. I put my head in my hands and said never mind, we'll find another way to have it repaired, and he quickly offered $3,000. Since we'd had trouble finding local solutions, my husband and I reluctantly agreed, and paid the $3,000. After this, a surreal scene occurred in which Metin ordered his workers, without our permission or giving any warning, to move our furniture and rug out of our foyer because Metin thought our foyer rug fit poorly into the space and was not high-quality (it was one of our Stickleys). We had not expressed ANY interest in buying a rug for that area. He kept workers bringing in rugs he thought fit in the space. We kept telling him that we were not going to buy another rug, period. It made no difference; he continued what began to feel like a home invasion. After he finally left with our rug, two months went by, during which he missed one date he'd given us to bring our rug back and reinstall it. Then suddenly, without warning, a huge, very heavy package arrived in the mail--it was our rug, for us--we are seniors in our 70s--to install ourselves. My husband moved the furniture, put the pad down and unrolled the rug--and to our astonishment, it had not been repaired, at all (see photo). In an exchange with Metin I asked for our money back, and he texted "Do you want to return the carpet you purchased as well?" I immediately agreed and asked for all of our money back, inviting him to come get the rug. They have since not honored that offer and we are out $3,000 with an expensive rug that isn't repaired. Frankly we don't want them in our home again because they are untrustworthy, they took our rug for two months and didn't do the job despite payment of $3K in advance, use high-pressure sales tactics, and we do not trust the varying prices they give, which seem to change minute by minute. We will continue to try to get our money back (and wish they'd honor Metin's offer to let us return the rug). However they definitely owe us $3,000 and we do not feel comfortable doing further business with them.

Bedrosian offered me no assistance with my predicament. In the interim a I paid for their service plus their ongoing charges for storage. When picked up by the non profit my bank account was hit for charges I didn't know about. No one from Bedrosian called to give me a heads-up and after numerous calls no one has called me back to explain why I owed these charges since all the invoices in my possession say no balance was due. Given that we worked with Bedrosian in the past, we trusted them to sell us quality rugs. We looked at the receipts for the rugs to determine information regarding content, care & origin to discover there is no such information outlined. We had our decorator look at the rugs. She surmised that the rugs are poor quality. She stated that in all the years she has worked as a designer, she has never seen such poor quality rugs for the price. 2 of the rugs we purchased are still wrapped in Bedrosian's original wrapping. We do not plan on using them based on our experience with the 3 rugs that were installed. We have requested Bedrosian take back the 2 unused rugs & refund us. We have not heard back. One needs to be extremely concerned about the quality of rugs when purchasing from Bedrosian. We feel that we have been taken advantage of in a big way.
