I've been with PTL insurance since they were Partee insurance and before then, Syphers insurance. Well over 40 years. I have had automobile insurance since 1980. And homeowners insurance since 1990, and in that time, especially in the last 10 years, their service has decreased dramatically. It's non-existent at this point.
They do not look out for your best interest. They don't go out of their way to try to make your costs lower. You have to seek out any discounts and tell them what you want. They will not do it for you. And even then, you have to do all the work. They provide absolutely no value. None. Zip.
Mercury wants to get out of insurance in California (note I am no where near a fire area). They make you jump through hoops to be blessed by them. They demanded new electric and new plumbing despite a home inspection report (that PTL said would work) saying all aspects of my house are great. PTL said they'd look for a replacement. They go AWOL up until my policy is about to lapse. They suggest I go with a company whose premiums are FOUR times what Mercury charged. They skipped about 3 other insurance companies that are a fraction of that. Needless to say I didn't take the turd they were offering.
In my humble opinion, just go directly to the insurance company rather than using these people as brokers. They have to interest in serving you.
