A coworker mentioned how she has eaten here before and she had a great experience. So I decided to try it out, I always love to eat and try to places. Now, she did dine-in and I ordered carry out so maybe this effects the quality of the meal (it shouldn't). The process started out unprofessional and weird. I called in my order and it took a while. From me telling them what I want, to finding out my total took way too long. I first spoke to one person who took my order then I was transferred to someone else who was supposed to give me a total. While I was "put on hold" by the second person, I heard everything they were saying. It was unprofessional and unorganized. The person even said "this is such a mess". My thought was "if the ordering process is a mess and unorganized, I wonder how my food will be". After receiving my order (half soup, half salad) I was unsatisfied. Let's just say, Huntley doesn't offer many good food options anyway, and this didn't sway my opinion. My Cesar salad was drenched in dressing that seemed watered down :(. I ordered salmon to add to the salad which seemed like a fancy option...it wasn't. It was plain and tasteless. On top of that, the price for the salmon as an add-on was inconsistent (yelp) had a pic of the menu and it said $4 yet they told me $5. Seems like a huge rip-off for the quality and taste. One bright side to my lunch was the French onion soup wasn't bad. Would I come back here? Most likely not. They don't even have the hours open on yelp. It took me three calls until someone answered at noon. I was first wondering if they even are open for lunch, apparently they are but I couldn't find the hours anywhere and no one answered the first few calls. read more

I really wanted to like this place as the decor and atmosphere seemed great. I have no complaints about the food itself, everything was great. We ordered the cheese curds for appetizer and they were good, I got pizza and it was delicious, my sister ordered mini burgers and said they were great. The service however was terrible. Our waitress hardly came to our table and the worst part was she walked past our table SEVERAL times without stopping. She gave us "a few minutes" to look over the menu and came back to the table after about 20. My sister ordered a beer when we ordered food and that arrived about 15 minutes later from someone else. Our waters were empty for at least 15 minutes before they were filled and the food took far too long. Finally when our food arrived and another server brought it, he tried to place the pizza tray on the wire stand and managed to drop it so my pizza started sliding off the tray. I grabbed it to stop it and he apologized but didn't help me or offer anything else. Not sure I'd want to come back after the service we had. read more

Our first visit! Fresh homemade bread with maple butter, to start. Had the slider combo plater: pulled pork, cheese burger and grilled chicken with chicken corn chowder soup as a side. So my family and I had our first experience at Pub 47. The bar was packed with people however we were sat right away. Our waitress was amazing. Kept asking if we needed anything all night. My one year old had a French fry, gagged, and threw up on the floor. The staff was so helpful and helped clean without hesitation. The owner even came by and asked if we were alright and if we lost anything in the mess. We all laughed and got back to eating. The food was good. I got the chicken Caesar wrap. It came with a little cup of dressing. Maybe a little bigger cup next time or ask to put dressing on the wrap. Their French fries are FANTASTIC! And if you like Mac n Cheese this place should be your next stop. We will definitely be coming back here soon. Thanks to the staff for a great night out with my family. read more

Update: I again have to say that I so badly have wanted this place to be great but I am updating my review to one star. After three more trips the service has been so bad and slow that this final time we left after sitting at the bar and barely being acknowledged and never having our order taken. We will not be trying this again. Last night was actually my second trip to Pub 47. I was so excited that a new place was opening up close to home. The first visit was last Thursday night. When we first walked in i was impressed with what was done to the interior. It was warm and inviting. We were seated, there were 5 of us (3 adults 2 kids). I ordered the cod dinner with asparagus, the girls ordered the build your own pizza. The other two adults got the salmon & hamburger. We were very impressed with the menu. There were some really good options & it all sounded great. Our server was very nice & attentive but a bit scattered. I dismissed that because it is a new place & a new ordering system. When our food arrived we were all a bit disappointed. My asparagus consisted of two miniscule over cooked droopy stalks that were tossed across my plate, my friends salmon was clearly over cooked & dry with an odd stalk of rosemary sticking out of it, the hamburger had a huge clump of guacamole on top & the pizza the kids ordered was wrong. The food tasted ok, not horrible but clearly not as good as the menu descriptions sounded! I decided to not write a review based on this visit and give it one more shot before i wrote a review. My second visit was Saturday night and the place was very busy... A good sign! My husband and i decided to go out for drinks & appetizers. We sat at the bar and ordered 3 items. First we ordered drinks, nothing fancy, my husband got a beer & i got a vodka cranberry. Then we ordered the crab cakes, beef skewers, & rock shrimp. I liked the crab cakes, my husband did not. There was a lot of filling & very little crab which bothered him but the flavor was good so i was fine with it. The rock shrimp were pretty good, very generic and nothing special but I liked them. The beef skewers where another story. I was really excited for those because they were supposed to have a horseradish sauce, which I love. I was so disappointed, the skewers were so drenched in sauce you could hardly tell there was meat under it and there was not even a hint of horseradish. The sauce was so bland and boring. To summarize, the atmosphere is good, the service is good, the menu sounds fantastic but is very poorly executed. We will try it again because we are so badly hoping that we will have a good restaurant close to home without going to Randall Rd . read more

We love their food, it's a geat atmosphere for families, game night and cocktails out! They have a burger special each week that's usually really good. The GM is great about walking around to check on tables and ask how your service is. I appreciate that the servers are attentive and have a good attitude. On a few occasions I've see the chef come out of the kitchen and talk to tables which is fun to see as well. I love the Tomato Tower and Szechwan Beef Lettuce Wraps as entrees even though they are on the starters menu - both great options if you're looking for fresh and light menu ideas. Flatbreads are excellent and easy to share as a starter as well. The Southwest Chicken Wrap is excellent and I've ordered the Horseradish Encrusted Salmon numerous times - if it comes out and the crust isn't a little crispy/crunchy send it back (I've only had this happen once but they are happy to fix it for you). I'm sure it's a bit tricky to have the crust be crunchy but not burnt so I'm happy to cut the kitchen some slack on occasion. ;) One of the first times my husband & I ordered carry-out for dinner they forgot to put my side salad and my husbands french fries in the bag. When we called to ask if we could come get them the GM asked how far we lived (only about a mile) he offered to have one of their staff members (probably a bus boy) bring it to us. It was so nice and they sent us a short note inviting us back with a small certificate for the trouble. After a number of recommendations I finally had to check this place out for myself... I have been there a total of 3 times now and even with some good reviews from friends the best I can say is "meh". I must say, the highlight of our first experience was Zach-our phenomenal server! Went there with my wife and daughter and I ordered the Strip Steak Medium Rare with garlic mashed and seasonal veggies. They probably broiled the steak on the cool side of the broiler because it wasn't seared and the outside and inside of the steak was the same color--gray, a little overcooked and under seasoned. The garlic mashed were ok. The seasonal veggies--broccoli was pretty much raw, warm but raw. My wife loved her blackened fish tacos. My daughter loved her Philly Steak Sandwich, which was really good. We all enjoyed the house made potato chips, but on our first visit they were a little over done. On our second visit, I chose the pork poutine which was good though it may have sat under the heat lamp a bit as there was a little bit of a crust on the gravy. My wife loved the blackened fish tacos and again my daughter had the Philly Steak Sandwich. Third visit was with the people who gave the original recommendation. This time I had the Breakfast Burger in a lettuce wrap-pretty good, but I had heard rave reviews on the garlic aioli and though it was good, it didn't wow me. This was my second visit in recent weeks. My first visit was on a Wednesday evening and we ordered their homemade pizza. Service was good until food was brought to the table. When we desired water refills the service was nowhere to be found. Pizza was hot, thin like I like it, and tasty. Sausage had nice flavor. Sauce was a bit bland which seems to be a theme here. Today I came in for a quick lunch with my daughter who had the pulled pork sandwich. Sauce was a bit bland for our taste and the pork was decent but would likely not order again. The "homemade" Italian beef was dry and had no flavor. This was more "French dip" than Italian beef. There was no traditional oregano/garlic juice, just dry dry dry meat and a side of au jus which also had no flavor. Won't order this again as it was poorly prepared. Service was Ok except I REALLY needed some hot something to kill the bland. Waitress forgot to bring it out and it was 15 minutes before she finally brought it out. Overall so far not impressed. The food here was surprisingly delicious! I was here for lunch on a weekday and ordered one one of their flatbreads, which I highly recommend. Everyone in my group enjoyed what they ordered. Prices are also pretty reasonable ($10-12 per person). Only downside was service speed; we had 3 different people wait on our table while we were there (with one waitress taking off in the middle of taking our drink orders and someone else showing up several minutes later to finish) and it was always a long time between anyone showing up. All in all, I will be back and look forward to trying some more items on their menu! read more

IFrom the main road, while rolling North on route 47 through Huntley, you may have by occasion caught a glimpse of Pub47. Perhaps you thought as we did, that it probably was a local dead end type locals bar - but you would have been mistaken, as we clearly were. We started hearing about this place from different people. Bikers love the place for its pizza and craft beer selection. Others like our Doc at Landin Chiropractic Care, raved about their amazing salads and attentive service. Today we decided to finally check out. First impressions upon walking in was how warm and inviting it was. We were greeted by a big smile from our hostess, who offered us various seating options. The lighting in the bar area was low but not dark or gloomy, with an open floor plan. Large windows and plenty of monitors on the walls but nothing like a sports pub. Some dinning areas are raised, and they offer a combination of low and high tables. No paper napkins at this place...which is a good sign of things to come. The servers were dressed in black and quick, helpful and friendly. The menu is large, but made up of variations of chicken, steak, lsalads and pizza. Even if your are fickle, you'll find something on this menu My wife ordered a fresh potato chips and dipping sauce - simple but warm and delicious. For the main order, she had a nice side salad, Chicken Piccata, with asparagus, and garlic mash potatoes. I ordered the Cobb salad and added grilled steak, with a vinaigrette dressing. Both our main meals arrived in short time. While waiting I decided to look up Pub47 on YELP to see what others had to say. A discount coupon popped up offering 15% off our meal...sweet what an unexpected surprise bonus! The manager stopped by our table and introduce himself as Gordon and confirmed that we were indeed going to receive a discount. We exchanged pleasantries, and shared with him that we were here based on what our friends were telling us, and how much we really liked the food. So what about the food... Both our meals were excellent and plated beautifully. Had we not been so hungry, we would have perhaps thought to take a picture as they looked like plated art. Our waitress visited often (but not too much) and provided us with plenty of refills on our ice-tea. When the bill arrived, the 15% discount was there. In truth, we were never there for the discount from YELP, and we would have happily paid full price for the meal, as it was worth every dollar. Instead we tipped our waitress higher and waived good bye on our way out - satisfied with our experience at Pub47. We will be back soon to try their pizza and craft beers. This time we'll gladly park ourselves in the bar area. You should definitely NOT hesitate to visit this place. Make sure you proudly mention that you're a YELPer! read more

Had some friends come into town a few weeks back and decided to give this place a try. I was extremely impressed with the atmostphere. I have drove past the place since it opened a few times. It was surprising considering previous businesses at the location. I was surprised by the menu and foods. My dish was great, and everyone i was with enjoyed their dinner. My friends and I had visited on a Saturday and were extremely disappointed. We walked in a little after 3, we stood at the host stand and was never greeted so we just went to the bar. We sat there for about 5 minutes, finally a very tall guy came out and got us drinks. Service was slow the entire time and not friendly. He made us feel like we were a burden everytime we ordered something. This was my second time here and last. I brought my friends from out of town and thought to give it another chance, bad idea. This used to be my place to go, ever since we moved to Huntley. We went today, which was a Wednesday, before 6pm. We sat at a table for 15min without our waitress coming by our table for a drink order or even to say hi. I asked the hostess and was told that they were too busy and someone will be here shortly. 5 more minutes passed and a manger ignored me when I put my hand up to get his attention. I have been in busier restaurants and seen a waitress before 15 min. We decided to leave and go to Rookies in Huntley. They will be happy to serve us with no problem. Also upon leaving, I was told that now, that we were leaving, they will get someone to help us. Took me leaving to get service. Sorry, already out the door. We stopped in on Sunday and had a great time. Plenty of screens visible from every seat and a laid back atmosphere which allows you to still enjoy good conversation. We had the wing special: buy 6 wings, get 6 wings free. They were large and satisfying, served with crunchy veggies. The manager on duty checked in on us and was friendly and welcoming. I visited during June 2020 so the safety aspect is significant and I can say this place was doing a great job distancing outdoor tables and all staff wearing masks. Posted and paper menus are used. I tried it 3 different times, and my drink sat empty for 10-15 minutes at a time. Checked up on minimally. Hire more staff or better staff idk but generally service this bad warrants 1 star. The chicken fingers were gross. The inside has the same consistency as McDonald's but I would have rather had McDonald's at half the cost!! The buffalo chicken wrap was made with an 6in flour tortilla and was Super tiny. You can finish the whole thing in 4 bites. The inside is super nice and clean inside but that doesn't make up for the below par food quality. Seems like the ranch is watered down too by the consistency. Met some family here for an early dinner today (1/14/20). The wrap I had was fantastic! Some restaurants don't allow you to make changes or substitutions to an entree, but our server was very accommodating and because of that my wrap was probably one of the best I've had! So thank you for that! The service was a little slow, especially for how slow business was, but it wouldn't stop me from coming back for another delicious wrap! read more

I don't want to hurt your rating, but we were very disappointed with Pub 47. We chose this place based on the interesting menu, but sadly the food and the service were disappointing. After being seated, we waited a good 15 minutes before our waitress took our drink order. That would have been fine as they do have a game device on the table, but the battery was dead. we asked our waitress for a new one and she gave us a second dead device. I walked up to the bar to get a third game device, success! I ordered the slider sampler. the pulled pork was good, the chicken was dry and the burger was so over cooked I couldn't eat it. My partner ordered the prime rib flatbread. He didn't care for it much. I tried it and liked it better than my sliders. We probably would have had 2 or 3 drinks each, but our waitress never came back around. A second employee brought our food out. We only saw our waitress to take our order and to bring our check. We left quickly not wanting to miss our movie time. After the hassle over the game device and the lack of drink refills I figured it would be pointless to try to find a manager. Pub 47 I wish you lots of luck, seeing how busy you were I'm sure many have had a better experience than we did. But next time we will try elsewhere. read more

We discovered Pub 47 several years ago when we moved to the area. We order for delivery and have enjoyed everything. Their pizza is outstanding. we also love their wings. Last night we had their Battered Cod delivered . . AWESOME! Cod was juicy in the middle with a very tasty and light batter. Portion was too big for me to eat with the beautiful green broccoli and the awesome fries! Thanks Pub 47. We will return soon. read more

We were seated quickly outside at a nice clean table. Service was prompt and good. The reason for the low stars is I ordered the buffalo wrap and it was the most pathetic wrap I have ever had. It was literally a two inch wrap cut in half. It took all of three small bites to eat each half and it was mostly lettuce. Maybe 1-2 small prices of chicken at best. They were not stingy on the fries though. This is the first restaurant I have left in a long time still hungry. My wife had a flatbread and she said it was good and was a nice sized portion. Maybe they ran out of regular tortillas or something because I can't imagine any restaurant serving such a small portion. read more
