Not the sausage I was expecting... not from here...so not their fault. I ordered the Garbage I love sausage mushrooms olive pizza, it this was spicier than I'm used to. Not spicy hot, sliced spice. Maybe the Sausage with the Pepperoni was just too much. BUT the quality of the ingredients.. and the quantity of toppings was good!! I had a salad as well... very crisp and fresh. The blue cheese dressing was the best I have had in awhile Staff was friendly and attentive. I took mine to go . Small cute dining room though if you wanted to try it... also a small bar... We had a recommendation from a previous Huntley resident who told us Sal's was a must try, and described it as the best pizza in town. We ordered a pie for delivery, along with some chicken wings. They gave us a delivery time about an hour out, and were able to meet expectations by delivering in about 50 minutes. The pizza was fine, thin crust, and heavy on the toppings. As with a lot of delivery items, the food had cooled by the time it was delivered and the toppings weighed heavily on the moistening crust. Everything was flavorful and fresh tasting. We didn't have the restaurant experience, so next time we'll try to eat in, and give the pizza another try hot out of the oven. Wings were crisp and flavorful, with sauce on the side allowing them to remain fresh during transport. This was a good experiment and we'll try again. read more

This place is absolutely fantastic! We went last weekend as we like to try a new pizza place every weekend. Walking up to the place, I was immediately brought back to the 80s - not because of anything other than the amazing smell of pizza being pumped outside. Upon entry we took a seat at the bar and greeted. The inside is pretty small and it looks like take out is the way to go during any busy time. We had poppers and a thin crust sausage and pepperoni. Which brings in my only issue from this visit, was that the pizza took an obscenely long time, however once we got it, we quickly forgot about the wait. The cheese is amazing and the sausage - if it's not homemade, well it's fantastic. To make things even better, they serve RC. If you know, you know why that takes this place over the top. We can't wait to return. read more

First timers here, a night with a local concert on the Huntley square. It's a family owned place not part of a chain. Most customers were carrying out. We came to dine in. Seated quickly with fast table service was a pleasant surprise on a busy evening. We ordered the BOS pizza and a couple of beers. The pizza was really good. Thin but not too thin. Not too much or too little cheese. Cooked perfectly. We're definitely coming back. read more

Sal's pizza is best pizza in our area! The sauce is great tasting , none better. Only negative is that it is expensive compared to others. We order from here once a week, and I would like to see a reward system.for loyal customers. And if you need quality catering, very good! I found another pizza place to try. My coworker recommended Sal's Pizza and said his kid use to work there. Sal's is located in downtown Huntley next to the post office. My first impression of Sal's was good. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The inside has a few tables and a bar, so seating can be limited. I ordered a thin crust spinach special to go which took about 12 minutes. I sat at the bar while I waited and went on my merry way after I received my pizza. I did enjoy the pizza at home. It had plenty of cheese and vegetables. I did add just a tad bit of seasoning to bring out more flavor. I returned a few days later and ordered a deep dish cheese pizza to go which took a little over 30 minutes to prepare. I got home and ate one slice and found it to doughy. I ended up crisping up the crust in a skillet on the rest of the slices and that made for a better consumption. Both pizzas were not bad a far as the flavor of the sauce, the crust flavor, and the quality of ingredients. I would like to return and try some of their non pizza offerings. read more

The pizzas are really good but the price is way too much. We have ordered there for years but the pizzas are so expensive we would rather go to a nice restaurant and have a meal for the Same price. They are also not handicapped accessable .. they would rather have gambling machines then a reasonable way to get z wheelchair into their business. Crispy thin crust.Though I'm still searching this area for the thin "crackery" crust I like best; this one comes close. Friendly feel, cozy, great waitress. You may have noticed that a large pizza has shrunk in size at many places, but not here. We were there later, at a slower time, and found a parking spot on the street. Purchased a garbage specialty pizza. Scheduled for pick up and was a bit late so had a beer. They kept pizza warm while I finished. Was excited to try as seemed like a nice amount of toppings and it was loaded when I opened the box at home. Unfortunately we all thought it was not very tasty. Sal's Pizza has a really great place. I've had the sandwiches and the pizza sides. Their both fantastic and tasty. I can actually tell that everything is a fresh product. Not greasy, like at all. Great food in such a great price and fair. A little expensive, but overall worth it for the taste. We ordered the Medium Veggie Pizza. It was perfectly cooked, and tasted great. lots of toppings with generous amount of cheese. the size/quantity is good too. They were accommodating, on time, and the pizza was a hit at our party. Oh Sals, we have missed you. We used to frequently order from Sals in Algonquin. But after we moved, it just hasn't been as convenient to order a pizza from the Algonquin location. Today, much to our surprise, we find Sals in Huntley while we were in the area. We were so happy to discover the Huntley location and Algonquin one are affiliated. So of course we settled on pizza for dinner, spinach special with half sausage and pepperoni. It tastes exactly how we remember, with all the generous toppings, I mean you could see chunks of spinach, chunks of tomatoes, and garlic all around. Sals does not scrimp on their ingredients, which is one of the reasons why we love their pizza so much. So glad to have stumbled upon the Huntley location and I'm sure we'll be getting Sals more often than not, since we were reminded how much we've been missing good, quality, delicious pizza!! read more

We happened upon Sal's recently and were taken back to how a pizza place should be. The location, the ambiance, and the service were top notch. Of course, the most important factor is the food. We ordered a traditional thin crust with our go-to toppings and it was cooked up quickly and perfectly. I consider myself a pizza-holic and I've tried a great many varieties over the years. Having said that, Sal's was the best I've had in a long long time. The crust was as crispy as it should be, the veggies were done right, and the cheese was cooked to perfection. Local pizza place that we have never tried. Our girls were having soccer practice so my wife and I grabbed a quick bit to eat at Sals. We had an order of breaded mushrooms - excellent!!! She had the Italian beef on garlic bread and I had a chicken Parmesan sandwich. They were both huge sandwiches and had to take home leftovers. Both were very tasty! Some of the best pizza I've had in a while. Sal's special was a excellent choice. Loved the thin crispy crust. Just enough cheese and sauce. I like my cheese slightly browned and they cooked it to perfection without any special instructions. I like that the toppings were all bite size and evenly distributed so each bite had everything in it. The chicken wings are also top notch. Super crispy and juicy. I'm glad we did sauce on the side so we could do them up to each person's liking plus they tasted great just on their own. Salad was crisp and fresh. Large size was perfect amount for 4 people to share. Great value for all the food we enjoyed. The service was fast and friendly. Place filled me with nostalgia and felt good to enjoy a family dinner somewhere that's been a part of the community for so long. We will definitely be back! read more
