We like to support local businesses, so since we are new to the Huntley area we gave it a try. I wished I could have eaten my Sandwich hot. They brought my order out and not my husbands, it didn't feel right to eat without his so I started to nibble on the homemade chips hoping it was right behind mine. Normally homemade chips are hot and crispy. These were cold and not quite what I expected in a fresh homemade chip. My husband pushed me to start on my sandwich but I continued to wait. It took waving down one of the servers who was hanging at the host stand to ask where his burger was. Finally it came and well by that time my New Yorker sandwich was cold and not as I hoped it would taste. We had their French onion soup which the top was burned in spots and it was salty as heck. The calzone was literally drowning in pizza sauce....on the outside of the calzone! I'm not sure who told them this was a good idea or what- but it literally made the calzone a soggy mess. We are part of it because we were hungry, but wasn't a fan. Great addition to the neighborhood! Friendly and attentive staff across the board. Kaitlyn was fabulous. We order cocktails and decided to try a pizza. Thin crust sausage and mushroom pizza. It was perfect. Chef came out to check on us which showed us how much they care. We will certainly come back I really need to edit my first review. We have been once and I was very impressed. It was busy due to Cubs Playoff. Ordered the chicken wing special. OMG. I have never had larger wings in my life. I am craving them now. I ordered the grilled veggie wrap. I liked it. I would order it with less mayo next time. Just my personal prefeence. Husband ordered the cajun chicken sandwich special with homemade chips. I feel like this place is getting such a bad rap! We recently moved to Huntley and on our first weekend in town we checked this place out! Turns out Pub 47 is also new in town. So I will say, when a new place opens up I like to cut it some slack especially in the service department--the servers and cooks and bartenders are still trying to get everything figured out and there might be some hiccups. On our first visit, we took my parents out for lunch. The owner actually came over to our table to welcome us and tell us the the special drinks they were serving that day. I thought that was a really nice touch and he sold all 4 of us on a drink! The drinks sounded so good when he described them and I really enjoyed my sangria! We were sitting in the bar area and although it was busy, we had great service there. The menu has A LOT of options. I would actually argue that there are too many options and they should consider cutting back. It does seem like they are just in too many different places at once. I really do like the wraps and sandwiches options though because that is what I am looking for when I go to a pub or bar. Anyway I ordered the Southwestern wrap and I really loved it. My mom ordered the same thing but felt "meh" about it so I tried hers and figured out they had forgotten the dressing. Oops. Since her wrap was more than half gone we ended up not saying anything about it. I visited a second time with my husband on a Friday night and this place was busy! I had the French onion soup which was amazing (with a crap load of cheese how can you go wrong) and pulled pork sliders. My husband tried a Whiskey Stone Sour off the drink menu and it was great! We ended up recreating them at home later! Service was great again and this time there was nothing wrong with the food! I really like the food and the atmosphere at this place. Nice friendly place with excellent service and very good burgers. We had the Southsider burger with a nice and spicy giardinera, and the Black and Blue burger. The burgers were very tasty, we found out that they were grass-fed beef. You chose the coleslaw as our side, and it had a nice sweet tang and plenty of juice to go with the slaw. We have a very wide selection of alcohol and beers, and other. We tried the sugar-free mojito which was very minty and enjoyable. Service was great, and the manager visited us as well. We have been here before, and enjoyed the new selections that came with their new chef. We will go back again. We also found out that Huntley Sun City residents get a discount during Tues thru Friday before dinner, but we forgot the hours so you'll have to contact them. read more

Tried this place for a second time. Wanted to try the crab cakes but they were out. Ordered a pan style pizza only to find out we needed a steak knife to cut the crust!!! Added bacon among other toppings to the pie and found chunks of fat on the plate and pizza- seemed like they didn't precook the bacon prior to putting it on the pizza. I am completely aware that most of bacon is fat but other places don't have rubbery pieces of fat on the pizza or plate. Crust seemed to be missing something and was bland. Sandwich indicated one thing on the menu but came out differently-no basil pesto mayo anywhere to be found-looked like they substituted ranch dressing instead. On the bright side the nachos were really good although a little pricey. We in Huntley are DYING for more local restaurants...just concerned this one may not last if they keep pulling a switcheroo on the customers...please revamp the pizza crust. read more

Had pleasant experiences here before however, on this last visit it failed in most respects. While we did get seated quickly and drinks followed right behind, everything fell off after that. Service slowed to a crawl, no drinks were refilled and the nachos ($14) were burnt and scarcely populate with any topping. We were asked if we would like it replaced but as it was one persons entree, what happens then? Does one of us eat while the other waits, do they replace both meals so we can eat together? The reason one eats out is for the experience and the pleasure of someone serving you while good food is consumed. One person eating while the other watches is not part of the deal. Ordered here once a couple months back, was pretty happy with the food. So we ordered again, had the california pizza (great combo of ingredients), the Parmesan fries (great sauce). But then they had a special dessert which was a calzone crust, filled with apples and cinnamon, then placed on a bed of nutella and whip cream which was phenomenal. First and foremost, I love that you can order directly through their website (not some pay service like grubhub or doordash), and the specials are updated. Also they give you an estimated delivery time and get this.. The food actual shows up (and on time), and the right food shows up! Can you believe that? Sorry, but I've been having bad luck with both food delivery services where the restaurant claims they didn't receive the order, or restaurant forgets to deliver an item I ordered. I've been here several times and have always had a great experience! There always seems to be a table available at the times that I've gone with either friends or family, but if we have to wait, it's never very long; a friend and I were told that we'd have to wait about 5 minutes for a table, but within seconds, we were seated right away. I didn't even have time to finish my soup before our main courses came out, but it's alright as it was nice to see that the waitress was always coming to check up on us, which I really don't mind since it's better then waiting 10+ minutes without them seeing how you're doing. The food is always wonderfully and with such a large menu, it's always hard to decide what to get. Plus, I like that they support HHS and their sports teams ((2008 HHS grad right here))! Sometimes, my mom and I will order for take out and we rarely have to wait to pick up the food. Yes, we do end up running into busy times, but they move us off to the side, so we're not in the way of the people coming and going, but we get our food pretty quickly, so we're in and out within moments. Some of the food is ok. Example: Cobb Salad looks like something I could've made at home. The guacamole on it was brought in commercially, slightly slimy and off color. I asked for fresh avocado instead but they don't carry avocados on hand. Yikes. Always heavy handed on mayo and spreads with all the sandwiches. True too with dressings on salads. Servings sizes are large. Some appetizers are better vs others, it's hit or miss. Artichoke dip comes with 2 very large chunks of real artichoke in the dip that is served in a very small bowl - they really do cheat here. Positive: mixed drinks at the bar are usually pretty good and reasonably priced. Good place for drinks and apps. 8/15 update. Pub 47 must be new to Yelp. The yikes is self explanatory. My comments on the dressings etc. were directed at customers to make them aware that they may want to order these items on the side. read more

This was my family's first trip to this restaurant. We had heard great things, but sadly, it did not measure up. The food is sub par and the service was spotty at best. Our entrees came out before our appetizer and kids meals which were ordered immediately upon being seated. I ordered the bruschetta, but it tasted like left overs. The bread was chewy and soggy. The balsamic drizzle was WAAAY too sweet. The fresh mozzarella was very watery too. My husband ordered the Philly cheese steak and it looked a few days old when it came out. Nothing looked fresh at all. The atmosphere itself is great with excellent decor, although I must say it was incredibly loud in there, even for a "bar." Sadly, we will not be returning. read more

This is my 'go-to' place in Huntley. Always great service and the food is really good as well. I recommend the prime rib sliders, the lasagna or any of the pizzas. In fact, there isn't much I wouldn't recommend and I have tried a lot of different menu items. The burgers are very tasty and they have 'specialty' burgers from week to week. Very creative to say the least. If you're feeling REALLY hungry or you bring an army with you to watch a game, order the nachos. FANtastic! Great craft beer selection that rotates throughout the year. Remember to be good to your bartender or wait staff...especially on Bloody Mary Sunday's!!! I have been to this restaurant sever times and the servis is hit or miss. Last week I was with 4 people and each of our orders were served wrong. I tried to place a gluten free order and had to replace it 3 time then finally the cook came out to discuss their frying oil. It was embarrassing to say the least. They don't have any good gluten free options. Every time I go the staff tell me something different ( the nachos are gluten free, then the next month they are not). They kind of try to be accomodating with a gluten sensitive menu, that that is really just the regular menu items with no sauce, breading, buns, onion rings, anything fried, etc. Their food is not good enough quality to remove all the extras and be woth the prices they charge. It's 2017 and it would be so easy for them to pick up a gf loaf of bread or pasta or pack of buns or pizza crust at the grocery store and up charge for the gf option. I always think I should give them just one more try, but always leave frustrated and disappointed. read more
