On Sunday and I went to this bar in Harrisburg. We were there for the 4:25 game and they had not yet turned the channel. I waited and asked could it be changed. A man not sure if he was the assistant manager or manager but he came over and said they were slammed and he was gonna come change the channel which he did. Celeste noticed that the food in the window had been sitting there for over 10 minutes. I know at this point the food is cold. She points this out to the person and he says yeah we need to get that food to a table. Sitting next to me is an old man. I have to point out his color which I don't normally do but in this case, it is necessary. He looks at me and says are you just gonna sit here and complain. Now mind you I didn't say anything to this man. He then says to me you need to shut your black ass up. EXCUSE ME... who are you talking to sir. I told him to look it wasn't me who said it but why are you in my business anyway. Now at this point, the manager or owner or whoever the fuck she was is getting mad at me because I tell my wife that this is white privilege at its finest. Now, I am not sure if the manager/owner or whoever she is heard what this man said to me but what she did do is tell me that I needed to stop talking about it. This man is talking to me and in my business and then tells me to shut my black us up and you are mad at me. GOT IT!!!! So takes my drink and throws it away and says you have to leave now. It took all of me not to smack the piss out of her mouth but you know what I had to walk away. I got in my car and couldn't hold the tears back. I was so so so so so so so so so mad at what had happened I couldn't do anything else but cry. I am not sure why she felt like I was the problem. To her I was wrong. Fuck the facts that this man told me I needed to shut my black us up but me telling my wife this is white privilege is unacceptable. I have gone in there before and had a few drinks but I can assure you I won't be back. People we need to do better. We need to be better. I'm not implying the lady was racist but for sure the man was. She had no interest in hearing what happened. She was triggered by my comments on white privilege. Disgusting food and horrible service, my husband and I tried giving them another chance and had the same experience. Waitresses are constantly talking in the corner gossiping, eating and ignoring customers. I also felt bad because there is a very pregnant waitress who can barely do her job because of how pregnant she was.. this should be some sort of law and it made us very uneasy. There is absolutely no social distancing in this establishment. No masks as they say "they run things differently around here". It has to be a COVID hotspot. Would not recommend anyone to this establishment as the customer service and lack of responsibility here is astoundingly bad.
