I've been going to Maria's for over six years and realized I've never actually left a review on this place. I'm sure plenty of vocal know about Maria's. It's a staple that has been here for longer than I've lived here. The portion sizes are perfect. The food is always good and the service is always quick and friendly. This place feels like family at this point. They can get pretty busy on a weekend, but that never seems to slow down how fast we get our food and it's always hot and fresh. It's got your standard diner feel it is nothing flashy or modern, and the parking can be a bit of a pain when it is busier, but this is definitely my go to place for breakfast or brunch. read more

If you're looking for good down home cooking, affordable prices and great service then Maria's is the place. They are busy with both takeout and dine in customers. If you are bougie or looking for linens this is not the place for you. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We went for late breakfast about 10:30 Sunday morning. We ordered the waffle and pancake combos. They both came with 2 eggs, choice of meat, home fries or grits. And 2 half sweet half unsweetened tea which were good. Fried pork chops delicious. Homemade mash potatoes room temp but good. Wanted corn for my second side, but today corn was unavailable. So I choose baked beans. Baked beans were good. Love love love this spot! Definitely a down home country local spot. Great for breakfast and amazing for lunch. It has no frills but the food is good. You get a lot for the price point. Miriam was our server and she was so sweet to my 4 yr old we ordered the pancakes and eggs from the kids corner. He ate all his food so you know the food was good. Service was great! I had the pancakes breakfast with grits and smoked sausage with eggs. Sis had the flounder and grits with eggs. Bro had the maria special with salmon, eggs, sausage and home fries. My daughter and I wanted to try a different breakfast spot and decided on Maria's. Maria's is located off of Sugar Creek in a shared parking lot with barbershops and other food businesses. When we walked in the host greeted us and we were escorted to a table. I ordered sweet tea and my daughter ordered a Sprite. We both ordered omlettes. I chose cheese grits and my daughter had cheese hashrounds. The waitress returned to the table and with Sprite and water. I didn't complain because water is a better option! The food came hot and fresh although the person that bought out our food was pretty lackluster. In all honesty I was under impressed with the overall taste of the food. My daughter said that her food was good along with the biscuits. The lady that checked us out was very nice and outgoing. I think this is a spot that many locals may frequent it most definitely isn't for me. My recommendation would be Waffle House All Star atleast you would get a waffle! read more

Maria's is my Saturday breakfast spot. My food is always well prepared and reasonable. I usually order the salmon patty and grits or fish (flounder) and grits. Staff is always pleasant. Maria's is your typical small time grill/ small breakfast spot. I've personally haven't dined inside, so I can't speak too much on the ambiance, but I can say the front of the store can get hectic from the multiple pick up orders. Breakfast is excellent! Diner like spot with plenty of options: omelets, French toast, pancakes, and traditional egg breakfast platters. The French toast came out hot and fresh, highly recommend for sharing. The veggie omelet was great along with the potatoes (addictive, I honestly didn't think I was going to finish them but I did) as well as a biscuit or toast. Quantity and price that you can't beat. CHARGING CUSTOMERS ILLEGAL CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE!!' So my family and I had brunch at Maria's Grill. When it was time to pay the check I asked the restaurant owner to run my card as a debit to avoid the fee for using a credit card. She stated that I would need to enter my PIN number and I said OK. Well when the transaction completed she proceeded to hand me the receipt for a signature. I said, I asked you to run this as a debit before you started. She stated that the register isn't setup properly for that and she doesn't know how to do it. She didn't even offer to give me the difference back as cash. I will be filing a better business report against her restaurant. Just imagine how much extra she's making on a daily basis just from this process. I don't think that customers are aware that you DO NOT have to pay that credit card surcharge if you're using a debit card. I will definitely be following up on her illegal process. read more

Good home cooked breakfast. It's super busy on the weekend. We went on Sunday around 11am and we only waited about 10 minutes. The place is small so there is not alot of room which added to the wait. Not really a lot of parking. I think the same people that run the Tryon House own this location too. And they also have a breakfast named Dinos so it makes me think that they all are together. We stopped going to Tryon House because we were being charged A la carte which was much more expensive. So just make sure that you are charged what's advertised. read more

Went to Maria's today with co-workers today. This place alway does lunch right. The place is old but don't let that deter you. The staff is friendly and the service was great. A server name Mary always remember me and always ask about my son. This place has home style food. The serving are big and its price nicely. I found this restaurant via TikTok and saw that it wasn't far from house so I decided to give it a try on this morning. First encounter went smoothe, I went in and paid for my food, cool. Got home, I was missing my eggs in my two eggs, cool. I call back and the guy who I first encountered answered the phone told him I was missing my eggs, he said okay come back and we'll get you those. So I drive back, another person is at the counter, so I said hey, I called, I was missing my eggs, she just stood there and stared at me with this crazed look for like 10 seconds then handed me my eggs without saying anything. Finally a great restaurant to review! When you walk in you can tell it's a pretty fast paced restaurant. These gals ain't wasting any time getting their customers taken care of. The only reason this restaurant isn't getting 5 stars is because some of those gals that run the front register don't match the great energy my waitress put off both times I've been. They have been a little more on the rude side The first time I came here was because some guys at work suggested it to me. I got the Greek Omelet (not pictured) and absolutely loved it! The second time I got the beef liver with gravy, onions, mashed taters, and pinto beans. All of it was fantastic! The mashed taters were clearly homemade and I'm unsure if the gravy or pintos were homemade, but I thought they both tasted really great! Both times I've been Cathy (Catherine) has been my waitress, and let me tell you.... She is absolutely wonderful! The fact she remembered me when I had only been there once prior really made the customer experience so positive.... It made me feel right at home. I really can't rave enough about Cathy. She is truly an asset to the restaurant. I've only been twice and can tell that. So if you go in there, make sure to give her a nice tip when you leave. This is good simple comfort food. We love their breakfast but my favorite is the club with onion rings. You won't be disappointed.

This was my first time going to this place and I will not be back. While the food is ok the prices are ridiculous. I ordered a philly cheesesteak, onion rings and a sweet tea. $19.xx for lunch is way too much. So to clarify the sandwich was $8.99 I asked to add grilled jalapeno's and get the combo. Menu says combo $2.99. They charged me individually for everything!!! I'm so disappointed as I was hoping to find a new place to eat near my work. I'll be sure to let anyone that asks to not go here. The restaurant was clean and efficient, and my review echos Kendra F., who wrote, "Oh, Marias, It is what it is." This place is ok. It's located in a small strip mall where Mallard Creek ends/begins at Sugar Creek. It's a small restaurant with a diner feel. I'm from New Jersey so I know all about a great diner. What I found funny/interesting was, as we were being seated, I mean literally before I could even pull out my chair, our waitress was asking what we wanted to drink. Lol I then observed her doing this to everyone she seated. I found it funny, but it would've been nice to actually sit down and think for a moment before being asked.
