So I keep going back. We went twice last week. The first time we had some children with us so it gave us a different perspective. We ordered quesadillas, burgers, fried mushrooms (a favorite) Reuben egg rolls and 2 different childrens plates. Every single item was good. Even the kids plates were just slightly smaller versions of the same quality ingredients as the adult portions. The kids scarfed it all down like they were on survivor. Last night I was craving another of their pizza's so we had to go back. Once again.....amazing, friendly service and ICE cold beer (perfect after too much time in the sun) and the pie was awesome. It's getting embarrassing how often we are frequenting this place. I am starting to feel like Norm on cheers. But I'll continue searching the menu to find the entree I can't recommend. Updating a year later and it's still good! Food was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. And the atmosphere, while not their strongest feature, is sufficient for a pub. There's plenty of seating for all sized groups and a very long bar for drinking and eating. read more

I had been meaning to stop by Pub 49 for ages. Finally did. I ordered the Fish and Chips and my wife ordered a Reuben. The Reuben was excellent. The fish and chips was not. In my entire life, I've never had fish and chips like this. I am not exaggerating. I was given two pieces of fish, each piece was no thicker than my little finger. Which means, after the batter, there was about 1/3 of an inch of fish. The fries were awesome. As I said, so was the Reuben. I'll go back, but I will never risk Fish and Chips here again. This pub has a locals feeling to it. While my husband and I sat in the booth we kept seeing people say hi to each other and catching up. It's a nice feeling for someone who now lives far from home. The ambiance was pretty chill. The staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed all the food except the nachos. Although there was a lot of different types food on the nachos it felt like it was lacking some flavor (I hope that makes sense lol) otherwise everything else was great. read more

I am doing an update to my Dec 4th posting. I did give it another try after my friend told me they did some improvements on their pizza and sure enough we went back and the pizza was great again. Been coming here for years and the service and food have always been wonderful. Came tonight and found out that person who has always made the pizza has left. The pizza tonight was absolutely horrible as hardly any cheese and it seemed like they changed the sauce. We were with another couple who also ordered a pizza and it was the same way and they said this was their second time coming there and trying the pizza since the change of employees . Sorry to say I will not come back for a while and hopefully they can rectify this problem. read more

The only reason they even got one star was for the pretzel chips....these were AWESOME but dear gawd somebody in the kitchen likes to OVER SALT everything else. The onion rings were disgusting as well as the chicken slider. SO MUCH SALT IT WAS INEDIBLE. BUT the best part of the "service" ( it was mostly non existent) was when the runner brought out my friends Stromboli he proceeded to dump the whole container of sauce down her shirt and pants and all over the floor. And NO ONE EVER CAME OVER TO CLEAN IT UP. He stood there with a stupid look on his face and said what do u want me to do. The server finally brought the checks and we asked if they could do anything about the mess and they took off $1.80. Always closed on Sunday and mondays , the food has gone downhill and not to mention the unfriendly staff . I was the only one in there one day to get lunch and the girls were on their phones , throwing stuff at each other and not paying attention to me . This little spot is right off of the main road in Harrisburg (highway 49). The parking honestly is sucky but the food is great. There are two waitresses and when I first came in they were both attentive to me and anything I needed but gradually they stopped helping me. At one point for about 15 minutes they were both standing there chatting with people when I was trying to leave. I had it at 4 stars up until I noticed this and connected the dots as to why I was waiting for so long to leave after I was done eating. Other than that it was a good experience. I'm not sure what's so I decided to get the Mac and cheese bites for an appetizer they were amazing I'll attach a picture. These little guys are fried perfectly (not burnt or any type of harsh oil taste). Right when you bite into them you get this burst of cheese. They are really good. For my "main" course I went with the fajita quesadilla with steak. This one took a bit longer to come out because it's lunch but about 15 minutes after I got the appetizer this beautiful quesadilla comes to me. It is hot, flavorful, came with a side of salsa which went really good to add a little spice to it if you like. Overall I am satisfied with this. read more

When I saw the outside I didn't know if I wanted to go inside. When I was inside I wasn't sure if I should go outside.... And I'm glad I stayed!!! Absolutely love this place! Pub is more than a "dive bar". While still maintaining the feel of "local bar" Pub also has amazing food and is a great spot for lunch or dinner. The staff is awesome, the food is much better than you would expect and they have a great bar with a good drink selection, of mixed drinks as well as both domestic and craft beers. Not only can you order from their menu, but you also get the full pup 49 pizza menu as well and don't sleep on their pizza, it's amazing! We arrived with not so high expectations. So far Harrisburg as not been good to us food wise. We were pleasantly surprised with this pub. I ordered the Little Buck and it did not disappoint. The patty was thick and cooked to perfection. Everything was freshly prepared. The tater tots were tasty as well. We also tried the sausage pizza about 2wks later and that did not disappoint either. Okay, first time eating at this establishment and I must say great customer service and DELICIOUS FOOD My husband ordered the Big Buck (burger 16 oz) and I ordered the Little Buck (8 oz burger) I was so excited about the presentation that I forgot to take pictures. My burger was cooked medium well and juicy with excellent flavor, it came with fresh cut fries. My husband had the house made potato chips with a side of ranch. Will definitely plan to visit again to try something else on the menu. It reminds me of a CHEERS WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR NAME. We drive by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a try. The place has that small-town pub feel which was nice. The food was delicious! The waitress was friendly and I am pretty sure it was the manager/owner that came around to every table to check on customers which was very nice and hard to find these days. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because after getting our food our waitress disappeared and did not bring our check so we sat there waiting. I asked for the check and the other staff brought it right away. We will be back to try some more food options! read more

We came here for the first time tonight. The place is bigger than it appears from the road. It is a sports bar with decent food! Covid precautions are totally nonexistent here. There was no distancing. All condiments were on the table. There wasn't a mask in sight. We didn't appear to have a dedicated server. We were taken care of by committee. We received pretty good service! They were busy but we didn't have to wait very long for anything. I got 6 garlic parmesan wings with a caesar side salad. It was good. The bleu cheese dressing with the wings was great. It was tart and very chunky. My date got a hot ham and cheese sandwich with onion rings. She liked it. The onion rings were great. I enjoyed a $3.50 mimosa drink special. Next time I want to try a pizza. They looked great. I am happy with our food. It was a little loud. We came on Sunday night during NFL season. They had several different games playing plus a NASCAR race. People were roaming around. I imagine the crowd is different on nongame days. We sat in a booth instead of a table and that provided a little distance from the pedestrian traffic. read more

It's lunchtime on Friday, I just called to make a to go order and was left on hold for 5 minutes. When no one came back on the phone I hung up and called again. Now the number goes straight to a message saying voicemail not set up. I guess they are too busy to make to go food, or provide good customer service. I'm going elsewhere. read more

Well I finally got around to reviewing this spot, just because Pub 49 is neither great or bad, it just is an average sports bar. I have eaten here about a half dozen times and never really had anything bad - wings are excellent, fried mushrooms are excellent, wings are excellent. Tonight I ordered the Taco Pizza. I posted a pic of their claim to fame, Quad City Pizza. I really found the pizza very underwhelming. The nacho topping is not Doritos brand chips, they are generic and ZERO flavor. The Quad City style pizza has some weird spice that was not to my liking and very overpowering. Maybe fennel? I dunno. I ordered a 10" and only ate about half. Just not good and no flavor.
