Had the most delicious Halibut fish and chips - fish was light crispy succulent and fries were delicious too. Being from Kansas City, I wanted to sit out on the patio to view the gorgeous scenery of the mountains and water. Great location on the water. Friendly staff with efficient service. Varied food selection accommodating most diets and best of all super dog friendly outside as well as in the bar area inside. Okay, I was not expecting to love this place as much as I did. I thought- it's on the water, it's going to rely on that and be a tourist trap with meh food. I was soooo wrong! This place is unassuming but delivers seriously good food. My girlfriends and I got the nachos with kalua pork - the chips were seasoned deliciously, and the nachos had yummy cheese and pickled onions. We devoured them in minutes. Then my friend and I split the rock fish tacos and a side of sweet potato fries. The tacos were also so yummy and the fries- oh my gosh the fries- were delectable! Ok food. Terrible service. We came for brunch, which took an hour and a half. We sat down to a dirty table that was never wiped clean. Our pitcher of mimosas was 3/4 of the way full and it took 3 adults and half of an hour to get 3 fried potato pancakes. The server had the whole deck and wrote her notes on a pad. Unfortunately, she couldn't remember what she wrote and misnumbered her orders, so our appetizer had to be redone. Folks sat down, ordered, and ate their meals before we were served. Two coffees took another 20 minutes, while a watery Bloody Mary was delivered. The hash was good, as was the plain Benny. The PNW Benny was light on the lox and bland. A manager seemed to be present who was frustrated, but there was not a system or any apologies. Never going back, which is too bad because the view was lovely. read more

The menu is a bit eclectic but tasty. I've had a few different things - fish & chips, black & blue salad, meatloaf dinner, chilaquiles style nachos, wings, fries, probably more, and all good to great. Have I had better fish n chips, yes. Better wings and meatloaf, yes. The nachos were ok. But it's still good, and a nice location on the water, with a great beer and cider selection. Awful service! Stop by for lunch after taking my baby to the aquarium. The host some dude with glasses super rude and arrogant. The waitress was ok but after dropping my check just disappeared. Went to the bar to pay after waiting for a while and some other dude with bleached hair yelled at me that I can't have children in the bar... like really? So ridiculous! I just needed to pay my bill and obviously I was not going to leave my baby behind! Well I knew it was too good to be true. I've been to this place 4xs now and each time got progressively worse. The first two times food and service was great. The 3rd time food was so mediocre and service was blah. This last time I didn't even stay bc I had to serve myself if I sat outside, ok no problem, everything I wanted to order was no longer available. This time around the tables were all a mess and not cleared, probably why everyone was sitting inside. Wish I had done this right after we left the first time but never too late. I was there about a month ago for a family wedding. I'm super cautious about pier/pub food but our hotel was close by and our hotel staff said this was one the best options since everything closed kind of early when we were there. Not sure if it still is like that but it was around 7pm on a Thursday and after a 13 hour drive we were starving. It was not too packed and were greeted rather quickly. I honestly don't remember everything we ordered but what I do remember is the taste was delish. I know I had the fish tacos grilled , there was a chicken burger ordered and some onion rings which all had great taste. I wasn't sure if I was just hungry but we came Again on Sunday. Sunday - I was a little turned off we did have a big group of 13 so the host automatically asked if we had reservation which I get with the times we should be cautious but the place was empty. They did end up seating us and again the food delicious also our family enjoyed the meal. This time we ordered lots of stuff from the menu and to be honest it was all hit. For a pub it did not disappoint and I will go back again when we go. Nice little add on- The chef came out to ask if we the food was all well our first time which I thought was nice gesture. I get the times so with that I went with grace knowing that it could take a bit long or short staff but it was totally fine nothing crazy of a wait. read more

Pub 70 was a great option for a birthday brunch with friends! My friend had trouble finding brunch places that took a large group, so we were delighted that Pub 70 let us make a reservation only a couple days ahead of time. We were served immediately and the wait was not too bad... perhaps 15-20 minutes for everyone's food to arrive. For my drink, I decided to order a hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate is REALLY great. It's such a simple drink, and I don't know what they did differently, but their hot chocolate was great. As for my main dish, I ordered the Potato Scallion Cakes and added a fried egg and pork belly on the side. The potato cakes are really great, and the fried egg was a good addition. The pork belly was subpar - for the extra price you pay, the amount and quality is not amazing. Other than the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. The view of Elliott Bay from the seats is wonderful, especially on a clear day. Overall, my friends and I had a great time - would definitely come back for more meals another time. read more

We stopped by while on vacation and absolutely loved this place. We walked in and were seated immediately. The food and drink selection were both great! My vegetarian family members loved their food and the fact that it wasn't just salads or side dishes, and the nachos were the best I've ever had. Never been here before and my girlfriend has Celiac and eats gluten-free so decided to try this restaurant the other night. Lilly our waitperson was absolutely exceptional! I ordered the hot chocolate drink with a meringue top and it didn't disappoint. It's not hot cocoa actually but whatever is blended will be worth your while. I also ordered the butternut squash soup with a blend of spices and did not care for it whatsoever. That said, Lilly was kind enough to take it back and I reordered a salad which was good but nothing great. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and even though the rye bread had caraway seeds decided to go forward with it. It had really good flavor although $17 for a sandwich with about a 1 inch slab of corned beef seemed a little high-priced when you get nothing with it unless you ordered sides for an additional cost. My girlfriend had the fried chicken sandwich which was to die for. Should have ordered that instead lol. I ordered the donut holes for dessert and they were quite good but the chocolate chili dipping sauce was a big turn-off. I couldn't put my finger on whether it tasted like chocolate sauce with mint toothpaste but then came to the conclusion that the flavor was very medicinal and I found it not enjoyable whatsoever. I thought I could doctor it up when I got home so the next morning heated up the donuts but they became quite hard. Overall I had a nice experience but unless my girlfriend wanted to go back, this would probably be my one and only trip. read more

Appreciate the gesture as we sat in the back patio area. . Food: We got the kale salad and cod fish and chips (not pictured) // food was perfectly done. The salad was pretty acidic with pickled vegetables and interesting vegan granola topping! The fish and chips were also delicious. . Drinks: the salty/spicy rim on that smoky arbol was a great touch. While several places have been shut down, we've had a pretty good sampling of the downtown offerings, so when I say this place holds top spot for Best Fish n' Chips, I mean they are good! Pricing is decent, especially for the real estate on pier 70!. Great spot for outdoor dining, good views if you can get a table along the pier side, and great libations too. I was looking for a quiet beer, after 9 PM on a weeknight, and Pub 70 was recommended. It's in a cute spot out on the pier, and it was, in fact, pretty quiet. I was seated quickly, outside, with a fantastic view of the water. I asked about the beer selection and about food on the lighter side, since I just wanted a snack. The beers were all on the trendy side, instead of Corona, for example, they had some Mexican lager that I had never heard of. It wasn't bad, and while it wasn't cheap, it was a fair enough price for the waterfront. The drinks came quickly, and I have no complaints about the bar service. But it took the kitchen over half an hour to prepare the nachos I ended up ordering (in the hopes that I could eat just a bit). When they eventually arrived, the nachos were so enormous that they weren't served on a plate, but rather a tray. It could have made a meal for three, and after an hour of eating, I'd barely made a dent in it. The nachos have serrano peppers throughout, and it just made every bite burn. I'd have preferred twice as much cheese, and half as many peppers - but at least they weren't jalapenos. The avocado was a nice touch, but fairly sparse, and the pickled red onions were good. The chips themselves were unusual, but thin and crisp - not like they came from a bag. I'd consider giving Pub 70 another try, just to enjoy the view, but not if I just want a quick light bite, late at night. EDIT: I just spend ten minutes trying to figure out who Paddy Coyne's Irish pub is, on my credit card statement - turns out that is what Pub 70 used to be called, and it just shows up with the old name, in case anyone was wondering. read more

I walk by pier 70 a lot and saw it had changed to Pub70! When I went in the other day it was great! Their Bloody Mary is tasty and spiced well. The portions are generous. I had never had Fried shishito peppers before. Theirs are so good! I also the Fried chicken and waffles was great! I love that the waffles are gourmet normal waffles and not super super dense Belgian waffles. The ratio chicken to waffle is great! Regular well drinks are reasonably priced as well! I stopped by for a drink with family while we headed from Pike Place to the sculpture garden. We didn't have any food, but I'm comfortable with a five-star review primarily based on Mia's customer service skills. I decided to be adventurous and try the CBD tea for my drink. I did not know at the time it was canned and carbonated, I assumed it was some sort of mixed non-alcoholic drink like some others on the menu. I was hopeful this could be a nice little gem, but I was left disappointed. My two gripes: 1. The INSANE amount of grease they use! The burger I had and the crispy chicken sandwich my spouse had, along with the garlic fries could have been pretty decent if it weren't for the ridiculous amount of oil used! I expect burgers and fries to be greasy, sure, but they took it to a whole new level. I immediately knew I was going to end up with a stomach ache just from the amount of oil all over the plate. I couldn't even bring myself to finish my burger (and I'm known to finish mine before my husband!) 2. The price. Now I guess rent is probably pretty high being on the pier, and I enjoyed sitting outside so I'm willing to pay a bit more for that. But $54 for two greasy burgers and fries, and one beer during happy hour? More expensive than I was expecting. I like to splurge, but I would not spend that amount there again - especially when it was greasy to the point of neither of us finishing our meals.
