We came here on a Saturday night to which it was very busy and very loud. Thankfully though we got a seat pretty quickly but it was a struggle all night to hear each other! The beer selection was fairly good though for a place that calls itself a gastropub they need a lot more beers then what they have... We started with an appetizer, the nachos... They were ok, I've definitely had much better... I think they need more of everything on it really... Oh well... So I don't remember what everyone got but I got the steak sandwich, which was a bit dry, but the saving grace of the sandwich was the cheese sauce which was very tasty!! The fries were ok... The last time my fiend group was there we had a miserable experience. The waiter didn't know how to pour wine, only 1/2 of us were allowed water, the salad was all bitter romaine hearts, the bread pudding was raw in the middle, and the goat cheese inside my marinara was cold. If you want some top notch bar food, look no farther! From the appetizer to the meal itself, the food was bomb! Food was not overly greasy in the slightest bit. It wasn't greasy at all. Beer selection was pretty good. The rating is for the service. I am not impressed in the slightest with the service. Server seemed as if she didn't want to be there. Management was unprofessional. This place is great. The appetizers are phenomenal (I recommend the spicy marinara with goat cheese and fried pita) and I love the way the menu is set up. You can choose between many proteins - beef patty, chicken breast, turkey burger, veggie burger, crab cake - and pick an assortment of different toppings and buns. I've never been disappointed with the food here. It's definitely one of my favorite spots. Oh, and the drink list is awesome! Big selection of wines, craft beer and martinis. Yum. read more

Goat cheese and marinara app is amazing with the fried pita chips - good stuff. I always like the service here and have never had a bad meal. Chicken tortilla soup was delicious (spicy for some, but I like it). Our waiter - last time we went - was working his tail off. That dude deserves a raise! Ordered takeout 3/7/21,we ordered 2 of the pretzel crusted chicken sandwhiches and the Buffalo chicken wontons.the chicken sandwhiches were awful,chicken was chewy tough and rubbery and neither of us were able to eat more then a few bites.had to wait around 15mins after the pickup time that i had which isn't a problem if the food was good but spent $30 on this meal and will never be back,very disappointed. read more

If you've been going to Pub Bricco for years like me, you're going to be very disappointed...new ownership has taken many items off the menu, and have also changed some that are still there. It tastes like every-day bar food, which if that's what you're looking for, it's fine. Pub Bricco always had a great variety of quality food. You can tell they've changed vendors and cut costs. Instead of a delicious blackened fish special or crab cake sandwich, they had wings and wraps . They also got rid of their pepper jack wedges, which were a favorite appetizer and their goat cheese marinara is different as well. I went here for lunch one day because I live right behind it. I saw they were always busy and decided to try it. The place is nice, and a lot bigger inside than in looks from be outside. I decided to go with the fish sandwich and sweet potato fries. I have to say this sandwich was one of the best of have had in awhile. It had avocado, lettuce, tomato, and a nice spicy mayo sauce. All of the things tasted very fresh. I will return here soon, because it was great. I am looking forward to trying more of their menu. Food was great, quick and hot. Our server was nice, however, she looked at my ID and didn't think it was me. My wallet was open on the table and she took my debit card out of my wallet without asking to see if the name matched. If she would have asked, I would have gladly given it to her. I was very taken back by the fact that she went into my wallet without asking. What I really like about this place: There is a pub atmosphere, almost British like. While at the pub for a drink, plan ahead to go a play at "none too fragile" theater. That is a great black box theater. It is definitely a "twofer" . Also on a Saturday afternoon, great to see outside. What was ok: I had only the beer, salads and sandwiches. All that I order was good and we have good service. I do not think the food is remarkable, but it is a place that I come back. Parking is ok. They have a valet parking too. read more

Pub Bricco is a pleasant surprise in the Cuyahoga Valley. While the menu here isn't as elaborate as Bricco's "grown-up" counterparts, the food still stays true to the culinary innovation of its chef-owners. The food is mostly sandwiches, soups and salads, so it does conform more to the laid-back atmosphere of a bar or "pub," rather than the more "upity" gourmet food at Bricco's proper. The fact that customers can select their own meat or vegetable substitute for the vegetarians and chose from a dozen different toppings and breads, is a further mark of Bricco's culinary innovation, simply on a different scale. If you think the food here is bad, its because you picked a bad configuration, so don't blame the chefs, blame yourself. Perhaps my favorite thing about this restaurant is the location: the Cuyahoga Valley. The Valley is known for its block of bars off Meriman Road. But if you're like me, and need a little food in your stomach to counteract the booze, then Pub Bricco is your savior at 9 p.m. Besides some random fast food joints, there's nothing else really in the area to calm those beer munchies. Speaking of alcohol, this place has an impressive selection of it. The Pub part of its name is well deserved. There are a variety of beers for the cosmopolitan beer lover to enjoy, and there is a long list of Pub Bricco's signature martini's and drinks to enjoy, including the suggestive Vanilla Weiner. These signature drinks are pricey, but the high alcohol content means you get your money's worth. The Pub atmosphere is further showcased in the decore. Along with it's English pub furniture which is similar to , if not only newer than, ones found in English pubs, like The Eagle and Child in Oxford, England, the owners chose to use empty liquor bottles to decorate the wall shelves. Sounds like a bar to me. This place can be really quiet and leisurely or just really crowded, depending on the time and day you chose to attend. I've been here on a Friday night where the later dinner and early bar crowds both converge on the place, so you're forced to wait for a place to sit/stand. Things get a little hectic, but the kitchen is open late, so many people flock here to get some good food with some strong drinks late into the night. Overall, I give this place four stars because all the afore mentioned reasons. The only downside is that it's in the valley, where the air smells bad most nights of the week no matter what restaurant or bar you visit. We had been here a few years ago and had a delicious dinner, though the service was painfully slow. Last night, my husband and I thought we would eat there before our concert at Blossom Music Center. We arrived at 5:30 pm and were seated promptly in the bar. We told the waiter we needed to be at Blossom for a 7 pm concert- no comment. Iced tea came promptly and we ordered. At 6 pm we still had no food. We snagged the waiter and he said they been slammed earlier. Why didn't he tell this a half hour ago? We warned him that if we did not get our food, we wanted the check for the iced tea. At 6:10- no waiter, no food, no check. We left money on the table and ate at McDonald's. i love this place. what a great idea for bricco to make a more casual version of the downtown restaurant. they still have some of the favorites (calamari, wedge salad, martini menu) but give the place a more casual feeling with the burger menu. i especially love it here in the winter, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. a great place to go any night with a group of friends or as a couple for a decent bite or some drinks. i always, always feel comfortable here. if you want the more upscale feel, the regular bricco is 10 minutes away downtown.. i love love love it here. read more

The quality of the food has seemed to decline over the past year. I went there the other day with my wife for lunch. It was 11:45 and there were only 2 other people in the entire place. I ordered the French Onion Soup to start. It was absolutely horrible. It was too salty, too many spices and it appeared to be warmed up in a microwave rather than in a broiler. I sent mine back. My wife choked hers down. I ordered a burger and wanted it cooked medium. It came out well done. The flavor wasn't bad, but it was overcooked. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich with mozzerella and tomatoes and she seemed to enjoy it. The server was very nice and I felt bad that she had to present that food. I've gone here maybe a dozen times and its hit or miss on all category's Service- I've gone some nights and the severs are quick and great, I've gone some nights and they are mighty slow and moody Bartenders- The bartenders are below average to poor.. Not friendly, seem to have other agendas on their mind.. Also they seem not in touch with sports, I've had to ask to get a local teams game on more than half the times i've been there Food- The appatizers list is odd and seems like it's missing a lot, they just try too hard to be gitchy and hip and it just doesn't deliever.. I've tried about half of them, the Buffalo Wonton's aren't bad, but they will hurt your stomach later... They do offer half portions on their salad's, which is nice, and you can add salmon or chicken at a reasonable price. The rest of the menu consists of sandwhiches ( which come with nothing, you have to order a side) not really pub like. I've tried there chicken sandwhiches probably the most and have had maybe 1 good one out of 5, the other 4 were messy and chewy.. Id suggest going with the Salmon, but even then, they are very messy and you end up using a fork.. If you are just in the mood for a draft beer, then they have a decent list at reasonable prices.. I believe this is my first overwhelmingly negative review and I honestly feel a little bad about that. I even slept on it because I didn't want to be overly emotional or critical because bad reviews can impact a business and the employees I came into contact with were all friendly and seemed to work hard. Came in last night around 8pm and was seated in a wobbly table in the aisle way of one of the rooms. There were plenty of other tables available but it was a busy Friday night and I hate to complain. Placed a drink order for a martini and the drink didn't come to the table for a good 20 minutes. My fiancé said the drink was very good and very well priced, but a drink shouldn't take 20 minutes to get to the table. We then placed an order for three appetizers: Chorizo Tacos: Very bland. It was chorizo and a few pieces of onion on a flour tortilla. No type of seasoning at all. Sauerkraut Balls: Again, very bland with what appeared to be jarred thousand island dressing. They were also slightly burnt. Buffalo Chicken Wontons: These were delicious. The sauce was great and they were cooked wonderfully. The main dishes came out a short time after so the service was prompt. Mahi Fish Tacos: My fiancé said that there was nothing to them. The fish inside was prepared decently but it was just the fish inside a flour tortilla. Smothered Burrito: This is what really set me off. My "burrito" was filled with a cut up hamburger patty. Like I could see where it was cut in half. It was packed with white rice and cheddar cheese, neither of which tasted good. It was served with sour cream and obviously jarred salsa. There was no sense of any type of Mexican or Spanish flavors at all. It was an over cooked hamburger patty, white rice, cheddar cheese all loosely packed in a flour tortilla with some red sauce dumped on top and sour cream and jar salsa on the side. I feel bad about leaving a bad review now and not speaking up at the restaurant, but our poor waiter had the couple next to us to compete with and we didn't want to add any more grief to him. They (rightfully) complained about everything so I didn't want to leave it back to back for him. All of the food sounds gourmet and the prices were fair but this is just a bunch of mediocre food dressed up as gourmet. read more

This extension of Akron's ever-expanding Bricco family (Bricco, the other Bricco, Cafe Bricco, VFW Bricco, Bricco Suave, and the rumored Opium Den Bricco) is pretty much the only Valley bar in Akron worth going to if you're not a U of A student (or if you're not looking to go home with a U of A student). So, in my case, it's pretty much the only Valley bar worth going to. The food is pretty good -- sandwiches, salads and French bread pizzas. Each burger on the menu is $7.50 and can be made with your choice of a traditional burger patty, veggie burger, turkey burger, or grilled chicken breast, or for a few bucks extra, you can make it grilled salmon or crab cake. I've had the French bread pizzas too and they're pretty good. Decent mix of craft beers on tap (I'm guessing about 10 maybe). It's usually busy on weekends, so you may have to wait a little to be seated. read more
