We hosted a gathering at the pub and they were very accommodating. We told them our budget and they told us what menu options fit within that. I found this very helpful instead of some other companies we got quotes from that had complicated pricing. The food was surprisingly good and they were accurate at helping us estimate how much food was needed for our group size. We had some left over at the end and they even boxed it up for us to take home! They were flexible with our timing and were well staffed during the event. They gave us their back room all to ourselves. I would recommend using them for a small gathering of 40 people of less. read more

The Pub is a long time favorite in Keene. Open over 50 years!!! I have wonderful memories of Pub breakfasts with family and friends and they continue to live up to expectation. Most recently I got the Brendan's favorite which is a special including an omelet with feta. I love that they still give you a tiny juice - its so old school and is really the perfect size cranberry juice. They also offer fresh hot biscuits as an alternative to toast, which are soft and lovely. I also got an ice coffee. My husband got the eggs Benedict. Food was wonderful. The only pitfall was the sugar free hot chocolate listed on the menu was not available and rumor has, it hasn't been available for quite some time. They should just buy a box!!!! My husband was so excited when he saw it on the menu. I was tickled that we were seated in the older part of the restaurant as I hadn't eaten in there in years and when I was a kid I always felt like it was fancy. Our waitress was wonderful and all the food service was reasonably prompt. The pub also serves lunch and has an awesome sounding dessert list. Was in town working and this place was walking distance . 1st time here . It was around 10:30 am, place was busy on a Saturday. I was alone so I sat at the bar. Bartender was great , kept my coffee full and hot . I ordered the usual hash and eggs . It was very good , the usual hash , the eggs were over easy and cooked perfect , hash browns with onions made them very tasty , and the toast was nice and thick . And the prices were very reasonable . Mine was like $11.95 or $12.95 ? Something like that , and the steak and eggs , and or a few other options weren't any more . The staff was very friendly , made me feel at home , like a regular customer . A first for me . Zero complaints ! read more

We have lived in the Monadnock Region for 45 years & have never visited the Pub. Lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy but we were promptly seated. My husband had the Turkey Club & I had Grilled Ham & Cheese. Both were excellent. I tested my husband's French Fries & they were A+. We split a dessert, Chocolate Chambord Cake, out of this world! I didn't feel rushed which is always a plus when dining alone! I also appreciate that he offered me refills on my drink, a to go box and did not wait for me to ask. He was very on top of things. This review is for breakfast only. I haven't tried anything else. We actually ended up here because my dad wasn't able to climb stairs after surgery and the had a handicap entrance. The dining room is a mix of booths and tables with a bar also in the room. It is clean and comfortable and our server was very friendly. They have a good variety of breakfast items as well as some breakfast combos. My dad tried the pancakes but they were not his favorite. To firm, not fluffy and lacked flavor. I ordered one of the combos and was pleasantly surprised to see that a small glass of juice, as well as coffee, was included. Two eggs, choice of bacon, sausage, or ham(I had bacon), home fries, choice of toast or biscuits (the biscuits are delicious and you get two) were also part of the combo I chose. Everything was cooked perfectly and the coffee was very good! This is VERY important. The prices are very reasonable, too. My mom ordered the same combo I ordered and she enjoyed her food as well. We decided to try to get here at least a couple of times a month for breakfast. Maybe sometime I will try the lunch. read more

Went to NH liquor and stopped at the Pub for lunch about 1pm--the place was packed with folks eating breakfast or lunch. We started with a nice house Merlot and a cool draft of Blue Moon--both great for thirsty folks. Wife had a Reuben loaded with corned beef and kraut and savory dressing; she ate the whole thing and loved it with onion rings for extra $1.95. I had fish and chips (fries) with thimble of coleslaw--worse than sucked. Fish sticks is what came seemingly straight from grocery frozen food and nuked too long in a microwave. Service was ok, noisy with lots of folks enjoying their lunch in Diner like environment. Don't try it if gourmet is on your mind. Lotsa college kids serving and eating it seemed. A few more $$ but Applebees is just downp the street. read more

Three stars is mainly for the excellent Greek soup. The rest of this experience was closer to a 2.5 and not a place I'd really recommend. I was fooled by the online menu. It listed a lot more items than were actually available. I understand limited menu during Covid but I think a business really should update their webpage if it's going to be a drastic change. We went in thinking several interesting items were available and the only one that was happened to be the soup. It wasn't very busy when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Someone was counting money at the counter and actually left piles of it to go into the kitchen. Trusting person! The decor is very old. The booth we sat at had ripped seating and was very sticky. There was one woman working and no other waitresses on. We were disappointed about the reduced menu but the specials looked interesting so we stayed. Our waitress was just okay - for some reason she tried to dissuade us from the soup because it was too big if we wanted dinner. Um, okay... how about you mind your own business? I thought that was pretty rude. Then, later we were trying each other's meals and she came over to comment that we had to tell her if we didn't like it and why were we sharing. Again, great you noticed but perhaps mind your own business unless we bring up an issue? It was strange behavior. We started with the soup which was fabulous. Perfectly blended rice and lemon broth. My dining partner got a Blue Moon and I tried the apple cider mimosa. It was okay but they went nuts on the rim where they mixed caramel and cinnamon. I got a mouthful of cinnamon and thought perhaps I was in the cinnamon challenge. For dinner, I tried the lemon scallops over rice. It was so disappointing. Huge portion but the scallops were so peppery that I couldn't eat them. The rice and coleslaw was okay but nothing to write home about. It came with a stale cold roll that my dog really enjoyed in the car later. My partner got the lamb gyro. It came with a small amount of fries that were okay. The gyro was pretty good. We ended up switching because I couldn't handle the scallops but it wasn't anything I would order again. All in all, pretty disappointing. The menu online looks amazing. The food items sounded great on the menu they gave us but really weren't that good. Nothing special and nothing except the soup that screamed Greek food to me, even the gyro was bland. Certainly would not stop again, especially with all the great options down the street in the downtown portion of Keene. read more

Don't believe all the negatives reviews that you see on Yelp about this place. The Greek soup was heavenly, and our meatball grinder was perfect. It was a crowded lunch, and there were only two waitresses but they did their best and we did not have to wait too long. Try this place and get the meatball grinder! this restaurant is so discombobulated. i get that it was pretty busy, however, there is no excuse for horrible service. after tasting how bland my eggs benedict was, i happened to find a hair in my food. my friends specifically asked for rye bread and wheat and they got regular texas bread. she never came to ask us if our food was good and we always had to ask for water because she was not paying any attention to our table. she seemed to have no care for our needs which is basically your job as a waitress. when we asked for hot sauce, she gave us an empty bottle. not sure if this waitress was just really confused and having a bad day but this kind of service is not how to properly treat a customer. everything here costs money, even the disgusting onions on my potatoes. don't waste your time or money here. i am never coming back. read more

I find three stars to be overrated by a long shot. We have visited the Pub for both breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately today we visited for lunch and had a terrible experience. Service was very slow. It appears that both their servers and kitchen are very understaffed. My wife had a chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was very tough and was even difficult to cut with a knife. The order was supposed to include a roll that never arrived. I ordered a burrito salad which was served without salsa nor sour cream. When I requested these condiments I was given a very small plastic container of each. We live in Keene and won't be visiting again. read more

BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES... I used to be a regular here during my summer stays at my home nearby. We ordered from the Two for $20 menu. Chicken Parm. with Linguini and Roast Pork with Mashed Potato. The waitress ASKED IF I WANTED THE GRAVY ON THE POTATOES OR ON THE SIDE. I responded on the potatoes is fine. When I got the bill I saw a separate charge for $1.25 for "Gravy Mashed"! The waitress replied that she was also shocked when she first saw that on a check. Nobody in management ever came out to talk to me about it. The only answer I got after a long wait was from the head waitress who told me that mashed potatoes are served plain and my waitress should have told me that gravy was extra. I said, how come my partner was not charged extra for Marinara sauce on his Linguini? I will never go back to this mediocre "diner". What a disgrace and they think that we are stupid! read more

This is just a review for their Fish and Chips. The best thing about the plate were the onion rings I asked to be added - which they up-charged me $3.00 for six, yes, SIX - and the cole slaw. Average, all across the board. As some have already noted, their prices for breakfast are somewhat on the low side, and that may be considered by some to be a "plus." The downside, however, is there's not a whole lot of what I believe most people would call "good taste" to the food that comes out of the kitchen. I stopped by twice for breakfast this past week--once when it was very busy, the second when it was only about half full. On both occasion, my scrambled eggs arrived less than hot, and without much taste to them. The home fries, both times, were downright cold, and again without much by the way of taste. The one redeeming feature was the bacon: served, at best, "warm" (and a bit too crisp for my liking), but at least they actually tasted like bacon! read more

I took my Uncle to this restaurant for his 80th birthday because it was a Monday and nothing else was open. What a disappointment! Plastic eating utensils and event the drinks were in little plastic cups. He ordered the lobster and it was so over cooked and dried out that the meat was sticking to the shell. This was my first time eating at The Pub. My party and I arrived around 10:30 and were told that there would be a 25 minute wait. An hour later we were seated at 11:30. The waitress was very nice and considerate when it comes to food allergies, but it is now 12:30 and we have no food yet while other parties of similar sized groups have been seated after us and already have been eating for some time. *UPDATE* Most people's food has now arrived at 12:36 including half of mine. The other half of my food arrived at 12:45. Both tables of parties to our right and left ate and departed already. One of them even said that they felt bad that they arrived after us and finished eating before we even got our food. Overall? The food was decent. The waiting was beyond ridiculous. The waitress was nice. The people in charge are apparently not very good at managing their crew, otherwise there would be more of a flow and better communication. A down-scale dump of a diner, with floors that bounce with every step, and badly in need of refurbishing, although shampooing the sticky rugs would be a good start. You will find decent prices, and that the food is mediocre to good, depending on what you order (while the soup, fried seafood and onion rings are good, the grilled seafood is sometimes day-old, and the Reuben sandwich is of poor quality). The service is satisfactory if you are not dining alone. But if you're a solo diner, prepare to be invisible, with larger parties that entered after you being seated and served first, with the host either ignoring this faux pas or watching it and saying nothing, making it clear they don't care. Here, the solo diner will generally be ignored, even humiliated, with the servers congregating by the bar and seeming to draw straws as to who has to serve you, with the loser stating within earshot, "Okay, I'll serve her." This happened even when I arrived during the lull after lunch, and with plenty of servers standing around, doing nothing while waiting for the rush as soon as the college commencement finished. This is true whether you are male or female, although male solo diners receive slightly better treatment, getting second-tier service. Meanwhile, a female is ignored, with no eye contact made with the woman as server after server passes by, and in spite of the woman being pleasant, polite, well-groomed, not demanding, and ordering and tipping liberally. To be fair, though, once I finally got someone's attention and received service, my server, Angelina, was quite good, and seemed genuinely sincere. She should be complemented. read more

I have been a loyal customer for years but regret spending Thanksgiving at the Pub. We had reservations but had to wait an hour beyond the time to be seated and another hour to get our food. The biggest issue was they overbooked and added extra fold out tables in a tight space causing it to be impossible to move around. The wait staff couldn't even fit between the tables to serve people. I contacted the manager twice but never received a response. Very disappointed. Hopefully the restaurant will start ranking the experience of the customer along with safety as more important than profit. read more

Eh gross. Definitely a place for older people who prefer a flavorless bland frozen food. I have heard this place used to be good years ago, but it definitely isn't anymore. The fish soup we got was in a soda cup because they ran out of to go containers and it smelled like a rotten fish market on a July day. The salad was just loaded with salt and inedible.
