This review is for breakfast only. I haven't tried anything else. We actually ended up here because my dad wasn't able to climb stairs after surgery and the had a handicap entrance. The dining room is a mix of booths and tables with a bar also in the room. It is clean and comfortable and our server was very friendly. They have a good variety of breakfast items as well as some breakfast combos. My dad tried the pancakes but they were not his favorite. To firm, not fluffy and lacked flavor. I ordered one of the combos and was pleasantly surprised to see that a small glass of juice, as well as coffee, was included. Two eggs, choice of bacon, sausage, or ham(I had bacon), home fries, choice of toast or biscuits (the biscuits are delicious and you get two) were also part of the combo I chose. Everything was cooked perfectly and the coffee was very good! This is VERY important. The prices are very reasonable, too. My mom ordered the same combo I ordered and she enjoyed her food as well. We decided to try to get here at least a couple of times a month for breakfast. Maybe sometime I will try the lunch.

I loved coming here because they make the best bacon I found in Keene so far but after being yelled at for trying to pick an apple from a tree outside I don't think I'll be coming back again not to mention they cater to an older generation it's more a place to take your grandparents or something

Three stars is mainly for the excellent Greek soup. The rest of this experience was closer to a 2.5 and not a place I'd really recommend. I was fooled by the online menu. It listed a lot more items than were actually available. I understand limited menu during Covid but I think a business really should update their webpage if it's going to be a drastic change. We went in thinking several interesting items were available and the only one that was happened to be the soup. It wasn't very busy when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Someone was counting money at the counter and actually left piles of it to go into the kitchen. Trusting person! The decor is very old. The booth we sat at had ripped seating and was very sticky. There was one woman working and no other waitresses on. We were disappointed about the reduced menu but the specials looked interesting so we stayed. Our waitress was just okay - for some reason she tried to dissuade us from the soup because it was too big if we wanted dinner. Um, okay... how about you mind your own business? I thought that was pretty rude. Then, later we were trying each other's meals and she came over to comment that we had to tell her if we didn't like it and why were we sharing. Again, great you noticed but perhaps mind your own business unless we bring up an issue? It was strange behavior. We started with the soup which was fabulous. Perfectly blended rice and lemon broth. My dining partner got a Blue Moon and I tried the apple cider mimosa. It was okay but they went nuts on the rim where they mixed caramel and cinnamon. I got a mouthful of cinnamon and thought perhaps I was in the cinnamon challenge. For dinner, I tried the lemon scallops over rice. It was so disappointing. Huge portion but the scallops were so peppery that I couldn't eat them. The rice and coleslaw was okay but nothing to write home about. It came with a stale cold roll that my dog really enjoyed in the car later. My partner got the lamb gyro. It came with a small amount of fries that were okay. The gyro was pretty good. We ended up switching because I couldn't handle the scallops but it wasn't anything I would order again. All in all, pretty disappointing. The menu online looks amazing. The food items sounded great on the menu they gave us but really weren't that good. Nothing special and nothing except the soup that screamed Greek food to me, even the gyro was bland. Certainly would not stop again, especially with all the great options down the street in the downtown portion of Keene.

this restaurant is so discombobulated. i get that it was pretty busy, however, there is no excuse for horrible service. after tasting how bland my eggs benedict was, i happened to find a hair in my food. my friends specifically asked for rye bread and wheat and they got regular texas bread. she never came to ask us if our food was good and we always had to ask for water because she was not paying any attention to our table. she seemed to have no care for our needs which is basically your job as a waitress. when we asked for hot sauce, she gave us an empty bottle. not sure if this waitress was just really confused and having a bad day but this kind of service is not how to properly treat a customer. everything here costs money, even the disgusting onions on my potatoes. don't waste your time or money here. i am never coming back.

Try the teriyaki steak and stuffed shrimp. Nice meal, and it's not expensive! My husband liked their fried clams. Cool looking bar and nice employees.

Great prices and locally owned. Be prepared to wait on the weekends for breakfast. That is the place to be and worth the wait. :-)

Delicious!! Nicely buttered roll with so much lobster you have to eat some of it before you can even pick this roll up. And not just claws like some places this was all solid lobster meat. $30 with fries- wish we remembered to opt for the onion straws (next time). Lobster was tender and flavorful with not an over abundant amount of mayo just the tiniest bit to hold everything together and it was tender, flavorful, and overall delicious. Arnold Palmer wasn't powdered lemonade either, it was perfectly fresh and not overly sweet. Then shop at the Amazing food co-op next door. Looking forward to our next trip here. We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

I was greeted by a very busy parking lot on that Saturday afternoon. Committed to waiting in line for my sweet treat, I was pleasantly surprised to see the crowds were massed around the take out window for food and not ice cream. Great for me but also made me wonder what I was missing out on. It would seem everyone was drawn to the seafood platters here which, had I had a hankering for, looked heaped with appetizing fried morsels. Alas, I diverted to the other set of windows. I was waited on right away after perusing the extensive list of flavors. I was hoping for Coffee Oreo but discovered they were out. Not to worry, they had plain 'ol coffee and I was on my way. A small serving was HUGE! I couldn't finish it all, even having worked up an appetite. The homemade ice cream was creamy and flavorful. Fairly standard though as ice cream goes but the ambiance and experience at the place maintains a higher star rating. Plenty of park benches and picnic tables sprinkle the property. Rolling fields and farmlands surround the establishment. Large parking lot. Ice cream, take out, dine in, and country store all available. I only experienced the ice cream so the rest will be left to my imagination. Fun stop post-hike.
