The burger was really big but the actual meat patty wasn't that big. Kinda got lost With the bread and toppings but it did have good flavor. The avocado toast was really big and very good. Alot of avocado for the price and definetly worth it. Service was good. You ordered through your phone so you didn't really see any servers that often but it's good. Around when you need them.. The side of potato wedges was something to be desired. This is where the three stars come from. They were not very crispy and not that flavorful. Was strolling around Old Town on a leisurely Thursday afternoon around 2pm and needed some grub n grog. We frequent the sister restaurant in Downtown Murrieta, and I've been to this location once, nearly a year ago, and when perusing the storefronts and menus in this vicinity, noticed that ownership has changed. One of the reasons we love PUBlic locations is the variety of vegan options, and the recent change of ownership didn't seem to remove or reduce them. Upon chatting with the bartender who also acted as our server, who was incredibly attentive and very friendly, we learned that they will be rebranding and updating the menu soon, so we'll see how things shake out. For now, still a great place for vegans! All outside seating, very nice space with plenty of heaters for the colder months and misters and fans for the hotter ones. Not sure what they do throughout the year, but they were decorated for Christmas which really boosts the ambiance. We ordered the hummus which was absolutely delicious and served with fresh pita bread and cucumbers, the shishito peppers which were absolutely divine and the chef accommodated a vegan sriracha aioli, and the fries with vegan ranch and house ketchup. The fries were the only item that was just decent, they just needed to be cooked a little bite more in my opinion. Everything else was fantastic. I had two beers and the fiancé two glasses of wine; they have a good selection of beverages and a full bar. Our bill was only $50 for all that grub n grog - thank you happy hour! As I always say with Old Town Temecula, you'll find parking, and worst case scenario you might have to take a nice little stroll past all the awesome little shops and restaurants. Surprisingly pleased with our experience after the recent change of ownership, and hopeful that the rebranding and menu update only make the place better. We'll see! read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Save yourself and do not eat here. They have a b for health department. We got the chicken pesto pasta and it made my friend so ill, it was full of oil basically separated with zero flavor. Do not order this. There was zero manager on duty to help us with sending the dish back. I Feel so bad for the employees here you can tell they have zero support from management and ownership. Over heard the servers talking saying they haven't been receiving their tips either. What a sham of an establishment. Don't waste your time. Go next door to 1909 instead. He has a couple good songs going but they all didn't make it to the chores. This place was great! I highly recommend making a reservation on the weekend since it does get busy with the live music. The service was super quick and 'fun size' Josh was our server. He was sweet and had our order out to us quick. We ordered the jalapeno chicken ceasar, the Reuben, and the BLTA. All were great but the ceasar wasn't very jalapenoy. It was still great though! The drinks are a little pricey but they are strong pours. The food was great quality and massive in size. My favorite part of this place was their decorations. No one else in the area was decked out for Halloween like them. Gotta appreciate that! read more

The following review is my opinion based on the services I received. I'll start off with what stood out the most. The terrible customer service I received. The waitress was very rude and had terrible customer service. She was very cold and for the menu prices I would expect to be treated somewhat professionally. Instead I got a stuck up rude waitress. From the moment I walked in she looked over and rolled her eyes. She didn't greet or welcome me in. If I wasn't meeting friends who were already there I would have walked out. Now onto the food. I ordered the steak and chimichurri with fries. The steak was good. I ordered it medium rare and that's what I got. It's pre sliced and each slice had a thin red line through the middle. The chimichurri was hardly chimichurri. It was spooned over the top and I would prefer it in the side. It was bland and didn't really get much from it other than color on my steak. The fries weren't fried hot enough. They were soggy. The water was good. It had ice and it was wet. I thanked the waitress for bringing it and she didn't reply. I'm not at all interested in coming back to this restaurant. The food was ok and the service was terrible. All the other severs were friendly with their tables but we ended up with the rude one. I visited this restaurant after 8 years of my last visit. In this time there has been ownership changes. To say it has gone downhill, is me being polite. I sat at the empty bar on a sunday afternoon, and service was slooowwww (I'm thinking they might be understaffed, only one person behind the bar. Patio was nearly empty) Chicken pita wrap was super bland. The plate it was served on was dirty. No paper towels in the bathroom to dry hands (is anyone checking these for restocking/cleanliness?) A Birthday Celebration with Family. We requested a table without a reservation. The Hostess/Greeter was gracious and kind. She checked availability. There was only a 15 minute wait time for an early afternoon dinner for five. We were seated at a table next to stage and DJ. Great assortment of tunes. He kept the environment lively. After 3p, they transitioned to a Live Guitarist who played a number of knee tapping selections. Smooth sounds and great vocals. Snap-snap!! Our Server, Josh, greeted us with a smile and great humor. He asked what we'd like to start with, took our drink and appetizer orders and within 5 minutes we were into celebrating. We informed Josh we were celebrating a Birthday. He acknowledged the Birthday girl and said he'd have something at the end. Each of our meals were DEE-licious! The Short Rib with mashed potatoes was on Point! You could cut it with a fork. The asparagus was prepared just right! The other meals, Chicken with Rice was plentiful and cooked to order. We also enjoyed the juicy smoked-charbroiled Hamburger and flavorful Fries. At the end of the dinner, Josh did not disappoint. He remembered to bring the birthday girl a Sweet Candle Treat. We were extremely grateful when PUBlic House was able to take a party of 9 fairly quickly without a reservation when our original reservations at 1909 were cancelled by the restaurant due to a plumbing emergency. However that is the last of good service we received here. My order came extremely incorrect-- I had asked one ingredient to be "on the side" of my burger and I ended up with only the patty and the cheese alone on a plain bun with nothing put aside. I asked for a salad with my order and got fries. When it was delivered I pointed out the missing salad and the waitress wanted to take the entire plate back. We had already been waiting so long I asked if I could get started on the burger while she went and got my salad. Good thing too, because I never saw her again! Our original host/waiter came back and finally got me my salad and some of the burger toppings. When we asked for the bill, it wasn't until after I had paid and tipped (20%!!) that we realized we were charged for an extra entree. He came back with a new receipt, but then the tip wasn't adjusted to be 20% of the new total. I pointed this out and he had to leave again to go figure out how to fix the bill. He finally brought back a fresh bill that looks correct but I'll still have to wait to see it adjusted with my bank, as the original charge (about $450 for one drink and one entree for 9 people each) is still showing in my transactions. To top it all off... I got food poisoning last night. It definitely wasn't the alcohol, believe me, we only ordered one round of drinks because they all tasted weird and weak. I really tried giving grace due to being an unexpected large party but I have to admit I was super underwhelmed with the customer service and the food quality here. read more

We had a large party here last week, Service was great. We sat in the patio, music choices were good but it was loud and it was hard to hear everyone talking at our table. We had a 1pm reservation and only the brunch menu was available, which we thought was a little strange but we went with it... We had 2 appetizers which were delicious, so we had high hopes. Everyone ordered and we didn't have to wait too long for our orders. The server was sweet in accommodating my young daughter's requests. We did have a breakfast burger that was to under cooked, and 2 eggs Benedict's with eggs that were completely solid and very little hollandaise that left the entire dish completely dry. Our server never came back to check on us during our meal, so we never had a chance to have it corrected. Probably won't be back. read more

Went here for the first time before a tribute show at the theatre. loved how close it was , so we could just walk to the show... Table was outside which was a little chilly for some..the heating doesn't seem to heat very well. I don't know if all the chairs are high tops, but one of my friends had a very hard time getting up in the chair and several of the chairs were very rocky. With all that said... The server was great..everything we wanted, she made happen. I got the sweet heat burger and it was probably the best burger i have had...loved that they let me upgrade to truffle fries for only $3..they were very tasty... Id been trying to eat at this place for a while because I loved the ambiance but always felt like their menu didn't have much variety, so we always ended up going elsewhere. Well my husband and I finally decided to try it out and boy did we wish we had tried it sooner! I tried a cesar salad to start and wow. it was so different than your typical cesar salad but it had sooooo much flavor! when they first served me I though.. this tiny portion costs that much? But after trying it I'd say it was worth it, even though it definitely left me wanting more. My husband tried the Ruben sandwich and again when they first served it our initial though was "it looks so basic" well once again we were wrong.. sooo much flavor and the meat literally falls apart in your mouth. Damn. As the original review exclaimed, this was our favorite spot in Old Town. For almost 2 decades, this spot was #1 in Temecula. The hubby and I came for a date night tonight (15 years later and counting) and what a disappointment it was. We learned the spot has new ownership (sigh). Although they claimed to have adapted many of the original recipes, sadly they missed the mark by a long stretch. To make matters worse, we waited and waited and waited for our server to stop by and explain why there was such a long wait. That never happened. When it came time to pay the bill, the new owner came by in attempt to resolve the issue, but instead he only admitted to additional errors with our meal but didn't compensate other than the 2 appetizers we hardly touched bc they were so terrible. The drinks were good though. There are so many other quality, restaurants, and bars to spend your money at in Old Town Temecula. Hard pass on this place moving forward. read more

Went here today and was a troubling experience. We ordered the Tomato Addiction appetizer and it was very bland. Ordered a Mocktail and citrus vanilla margarita. They gave us a different drink with vodka instead of the mocktail. Yikes. The margarita tasted like a diet 7 up. Server looked as though they were extremely overwhelmed and would disappear for long periods of time. We actually thought they had forgotten about us as we saw the server checking every table in the restaurant, and then seen making drinks behind the bar for 30 minutes. Every interaction had a 30-45 minute period where the server was gone. Uh, the reviews are not lying. The food here is SO good. Was in town for my bachelorette party with girlfriends who are all foodies...we are all in agreement that we would eat here again. We started with the Brussels and Meatballs for apps for four people to share. They were both delicious and portions were large enough to fill me up before I even got my entree. So, I can't report on the entrees because I ended up not eating anything else. The highlight here is the cocktails. Clever names and perfectly handcrafted balanced concoctions that are not overly sweet. Had a chance to visit the Public House. The peeps were very friendly considering it was a chilly night and we didn't have reservations (had to wait about 40 minutes for 2 people). But we got the night started eventually by taking a seat at their bar. Bartender whipped up a good Old Fashioned and a Vodka Paloma for the Mrs. Very good. Finally got to the table and there was some confusion on who was serving us. After 10 minutes or so we asked the hostess about no one attending to us. The server quickly came over and acknowledged it was his mistake and apologized. After the little hiccup, the rest of the night was great. A couple more drinks and we were good. Ordered the brussel sprouts and man were they tasty. Charred, drizzled with balsamic and loaded with feta and cranberries made for a delish flavor profile. Get them, you won't be disappointed. I had the steaks and frites. It was pleasant but the fries coulda been cooked a little bit longer and just slightly under salted. The steak itself was well cooked and paired well with the chimichuri. Still pleasant and I finished the whole damn thing!! The wifey had the blackened Mahi tacos and was very content! She wolfed them down in no time. The night we went was band night and a super cool reggae type band was playing. The ambience was a 10, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the night. Will def come back to try other menu items. Something has gone wrong. I think the owners are absent and the staff has low morale. I have been coming here for YEARS.... So many years that I remember when the louvered patio cover was a new thing. During the height of the pandemic my family and I made sure to support this business by buying take-out and buying hundreds of dollars in gift cards and giving extra huge tips to staff because we love this restaurant so much. I don't know what has happened to this place I used to love so much.
