This was my first time using any kind of public storage. I was super impressed with the staff and pricing at this location. I made the reservation online and got a rock'n deal to store all my stuff while I am in Bali. Angie was super helpful and drove me around to show me the units and helped me with getting the right boxes. I found a location closer to my house, but the rates at the other location were more then twice the rates at this location. Who cares if your stuff is stored a mile away? I sure don't. Kudos for Karyn! We just made a significant downsize - relocation move. It included a grand piano and 2 Storage units. We really appreciated the streamlined way in which Karyn helped us, brilliantly, all through this complicated transition. I have looked at several other places but none to my liking and workers did not care much for my service. I did not feel safe. The area and access is so convenient here. It's really hard for me to rate this place so low because the staff are very nice but the units are secured with closet doors ( the hollow core ones ) there is absolutely no security there at all and there have been several break in's that I have been informed of by some of the staff my self with is quite upsetting to know that they know it's not a safe location and that your things might be stolen. They say they check the locks daily but I knew one of the managers for years and he told me the truth. They don't check anything unless they get a complaint. They lock up at night and leave. If the units had more security then this place would be worth 5 stars easy. Fortunately I only keep crap I don't want to deal with in mine so I don't have to much concern but I know a lot of people who put very expensive things in their units and to be in Calabasas with a dumpy location like that just isn't right. They need to fix this place up and secure it better. The rates are also way over priced for the crap they offer as well. I'm paying about $115 a month for my unit and it's honestly not worth more than probably $50-60 a month for my space because there isn't any security. In fact I left my key at home once so I just unscrewed the bolt lock on my unit and accessed it. It really is that simple. read more

I WAS ROBBED this year in March in this Public Storage in Calabasas, the thief took all my stuff for a value of $ 16,000.00. I reported the burglary right away at the Sheriff's Station in Lost Hills, they told me that MINE WAS NOT THE FIRST CASE in this storage but that they got about 30 reports about burglaries in March 2015. The sheriffs also told me that there were also burglaries the years before. Call the sheriff's and ask before renting a storage here and you will see that everything I am writing is true. Don't put important stuff that you love in here. I was shocked because the locker outside was not broken but somebody entered in the storage trough the thin walls which are used to divide one storage from the other one next to it. They use a kind of closet walls very thin to divide the storages which is not safe at all. The sheriffs told me that the thieves break in from a storage to another robbing several storages once at the time. Then they park the track outside next to the highway to avoid "the only camera at the entrance", they climb over the fence and the damage is done. The thief was then caught by the police but he refuses to tell where he put the stolen stuff. He was a drug dealer and kept saying he would not know where the stuff is. I was very furious about it. There was another case where another victim was stolen for $300,00.00 I chose this location because I have seen positive reviews but then I found out that they pay to cancel the negatives ones! I also thought that Calabasas is safe but then I found out that thieves go and steal there with pleasure because rich people put valuable stuff in here. WATCH OUT! read more

My expectations were surpassed when I used this public storage location! I had not properly locked the storage unit, and I go out of town during the summer. When they were doing a routine lock check they notified me of the issue right away, and placed one of their locks on it to help secure my unit. The staff was always courteous and smiling!
