I had a truly horrible previous experience with Public Storage, and Whitney saved the situation: she recommended affordable movers and guided me through the process of moving out of Public Storage (Public Storage is one of my worst experiences storing, which included a burglary and price gouging - buyer beware). A little hidden gem in the Valley for your storage needs. We searched around for a decent place to park some of our stuff while we figured out our living arrangements after we moved back to L.A. So many storage places are kind of sketchy, or way overpriced. We were relieved to find Encino Self Storage. Jim, the manager, is really great and friendly, plus helpful and responsive. The facility is clean, organized, and well-maintained. A huge plus to us, unlike another storage place we tried a few years ago, our stuff was safe and we never had a break-in. There are various sizes of units (we moved to a smaller unit when we downsized our stuff, and it was a painless move), and the price is right. Monthly payments are through the company portal and it's easy to use, you can even put your payments on auto-pay. If we had any questions, Jim offered timely help. When we finally vacated our storage unit, the termination rules are fair and clear, no problems. We highly recommend Encino Self Storage and Jim. Just called to inquire about the dimensions of their spaces. I needed something about 18ft in length and 8ft in width. I ask the guy "what are the dimensions of some of your bigger storage spaces? What's the biggest?" The guy tells me,"Well we don't have anything available right now you should call me back on the 1st. Our biggest size is a drive up, it's 10ft by 30ft and it's expensive." Ok, I didn't ask if it's expensive but I ask him anyways, "What's the price on that one?" He says, "$900." Ok I don't need something that big but I ask him if he has something that's 8ft by 18ft and he says,"I don't have anything right now, call me back on the 1st. I have to go." No, I wont be calling you back on the 1st. You're rude and not willing to give information to a potential customer. read more

I've used Encino storage for almost 8 yrs, service is amazing. Friendly, kind service and family oriented make supporting this business a priority to me. It's my second time using a storage due to in between moving situations and I have to admit even though I'm leaving and emptying my storage space I felt for the first time I would like to keep it, It's really well located and convenient location to get a quick access in case you need to pick up or drop off stuff, there's plenty of parking space. The building premises are really well maintained, clean and user friendly (elevator and carts available). Jimmy (Manager/owner) is super nice and helpful for any concerns or possible help you might need. Beware! I reserved a SPECIFIC size storage unit, which they claimed they will hold for 30 days, I also received an email with a payment/reservation confirmation for that unit, however, when trying to go get my unit today, I was told that the unit was never reserved for me!! I was in shock! Trying to keep my cool, without any apology from the 2 people at the front desk (which the guy claimed its his business). I am not sure how they can send a confirmation, take your deposit, and then claim that you reserved a totally different unit at 6 time the cost and the the unit that I wanted, which they confirmed was reserved over an email, was not available for a long time (according to owner). I am very disappointed, and I don't think this is how you run your business. Bad attitude, no help, and I already know that I will not be giving them my business or recommend them in the future. read more

Usually I don't give 5 stars. But since this was the best experience I had with storage I kinda have to. I've rented in a lot of locations because I move a lot and need to anchor for a bit. The franchise places are all the same. Adequate. The staff was very agreeable and willing to help out. The rates are market. The gate hours are a little better than more which is nice. It usually not crowded so I can get in without having to wait on carts. No real complaints. Didn't have anything stolen like CS though. I never tell people where i store either. Usually it's an inside job. Family or 'friends' getting at your stuff. I would recommend this establishment to friends. read more

Great storage and great service. They're a little pricey but very clean and customer service was great. Went in there asking for them to contact me when a drive-up is available. About a month later they called, I setup a viewing of the space and signed a contract. I forgot the manager's name but he was very nice and easy to deal with. Do not rent space from this facility. They will raise your rate rapidly 25% per year. They raised my rate for a 5X10 space from $125 to $155 with no notice. When I called they claim they sent me a notice (which they did not). I am going to report them to BBB. They claim the going rate for 5X10 is $165 monthly which is total non-sense. I called around to other storage facilities. The going rate for 5X10 is $85-$89 per month. Encino self storage is total rip off. I spoke to the so called Manager LUCY & she was totally rude. She told me to go ahead & sue & report them to BBB. What a sham of customer service. They kept increasing my rate but this year at 25%? Ridiculous. Lucy said that they have a contract with me and they can raise my rate anytime they want. Kind of a carte blanche to rip people off. I have given my notice to vacate the premisses. They have over charged me for the past 5 years. read more

just got my storage room burglarized -- no help or support from the staff or Moss Property Management . Moved from McGee's which is a wonderful, well managed and secure facility to be closer to my home and lost most of my stuff. Person must have been on premises a reasonable amount of time with a truck but my verbal and disinterested report showed NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. If you treasure what you are using a storage unit find one with surveillance so if a crime occurs the detectives can do their job. At this point I may have to give 30 days notice in writing to move out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go figure. read more

I've rented here intermittenly for the past few years and have had nothing but the best service. Through my research, they are always lower or right around the same price as the other storage places in the area. Encino Self Storage is the best place I have ever rented from for a few different reasons. First off, the office staff is very personable and willing to help you out with random issues (most storage office personel are pretty strange and border line creepy). This is the cleanest facility I have ever rented from and I think you can access your stuff from 6 in the morning until around 8 or 9 at night which is ridiculous. I am not sure what C.S. is talking about because they have cameras all over the place and I know my units have all had alarms on them. Anyway, I saw the 1 star on here and felt obligated to back up my loyal Encino Self Storage. They have free candy, water and clean bathrooms as well...that is all. read more
