We ended up using the unit for more than just what we received which was super helpful. However, recently we've been able to sort through and sell-off/donate the items we had stored and our needs have caused us to stop, however, throughout the entire time, everyone we dealt with were fantastic including times when they needed access to ensure fire suppression systems were tested and working. I felt that all of my belongings were safely being secured.

It has now cost me thousands with damages, dry cleaning bills, health bills, etc. I even paid extra for a climate controlled unit thinking my belongings would be safe, but do not trust this place. I also paid for insurance and the manager Val and regional Manager Michelle have ignored my emails, phone calls and voicemails to discuss and submit a claim for the insurance I paid for. Everything I own and have worked hard for was completely ruined days before Christmas and they don't even have the decency to return a phone call. I am appalled that a business can be run in such a manner. Save yourself the heartache and sleepless nights from stress and choose a different company! Update: I finally received a call back, but it was only after I wrote a bad review. That right there shows you their business approach. It takes someone to be in tears writing a poor review to get any customer service. During the call there was no sympathy, no compassion, purely blaming me. If they spent more time tending to their customers in the first place than removing actual legitimate poor reviews on their company they wouldn't end up with such an angry customer. I have been using this facility since it opened, so about 3 years now. I rent an indoor storage…read moreunit and also park my company truck in the outdoor storage area because of HOA regulations where I live. I have a couple of complaints the way CubeSmart operates their business. When you complain about it to the management at the facility, they simply tell you that their district manager makes the decisions and they have no control, so I will share with you why I am unhappy. 1) They lure you in with "special offers" which is enticing. But then they will start raising your rent fairly regularly. That seems to be the corporate business model these days. In the 3 years I've been at this facility my indoor storage has practically doubled. 2) The gates system used to secure the outdoor parking is always breaking. I am a union electrician and I park a company truck at the facility. So if the gate system isn't working, I can't go to work, which costs me nearly $800 a day when you include my hourly pay and benefits package. My biggest problem with this situation is when I talk to the management about it, they tell me CubeSmart isn't going to change their junky gate operating system for me. I had to laugh because when these gates break, it inconveniences everyone because of how the entry and exit system works at this facility. Instead of driving through a couple of roll-up doors like most facilities, you also get routed through the outdoor parking area which has those two (2) pesky sliding gate systems that always breaks. I don't appreciate management making it sound as though I am the only person being inconvenienced, the whole traffic pattern causes the excessive use of the junky gate system. If you want a good laugh, think about their reaction to my request of being compensated for my loss time at work. I never mentioned this previous times, but after having this happen several times, what do you expect. I wouldn't have even asked such a thing if I seen that CubeSmart was making an effort to really fixing the issue. Instead they keep fixing the same junk. Here is another funny one for you. I couldn't get my truck out of the parking area, and they told me they don't know when the gates will be fixed. So I may not be going to work tomorrow either! Lol....I am so done with CubeSmart.

They have a vast amount of storage sizes you can choose from, a much better variety than U-haul, and the prices are better too. All of the storage Units are inside and the units have climate control. Great place to store inventory for a business or whatever else you may need! The lady who helped my mother and I out today was so helpful and kind. She talked us through the whole process, what to expect, how long the incentive will last (4 months), etc. If you're in need for a storage place in the area I would definitely recommend Cubesmart! (10x10) The…read moremanager was friendly and explained their policies and that they are generally not responsible for damage that could occur and you would need your own insurance. They rent on a month by month basis but there was an option to pay for an entire year. While the website says the types of payments they accept does not include CC the manager said they can but they charge the customer the CC fee they would be charged and they let you know that up front. The price is reasonable and it was stated that it only goes up yearly. So as of now I am quite satisfied with the place and a bonus it that it is only a mile a way. Despite what Yelp says about where I am located, I really do live in Aurora, IL

We have been on the road for several years and couldn't move out of this location, otherwise we would have. The staff cost us a LOT of money! We moved from a small unit to two larger units, then had relatives come by and take things out while we traveled. When they got us down to one large unit, we asked staff to make sure that we had the same gate access code. The person we talked to (Leo?) assured us that would be the case. A family member rented a truck and brought a friend out from Chicago to pick up some things. They couldn't get in, and since it was the weekend, nobody was in the office. So they wasted the cost of the truck rental and their time. Then after we got that straightened out, we were able to downsize to one smaller unit. I called Leo again, and he assured me that the gate code would be the same. Again, the relative rented another truck and got a helper - guess what, the gate code had been changed again, even though Leo promised us it wouldn't be. Asked point blank, Leo said he had no idea that gate codes changed automatically when renters moved into different units. It wasn't until AFTER this that we were told about the kiosk in the office entryway, but that might not have helped because when our relative arrived, we were out of cell range and couldn't have provided login info. Then when we finally left the facility completely, they wouldn't pro-rate the month's rent (we left on the 3rd). "Company policy!" I guess company policy overrides the money and time we wasted believing your staff when they said we could use the same gate code. And again, they had raised the rate on us. The new place we rented with a competitor cost us less than half what we were paying at Global Storage, and it has far superior carts for moving items into/out of storage. We often had to go hunting for carts because there aren't enough spread around. Also, the exterior doors have door stops on them, to prop open the doors - and most of those door stops are broken! The last day, when we moved out, a man was cleaning fishing equipment and other stuff right in the main entrance near our unit. He blocked access for about 45 minutes, so we had to go the long way around to our stuff. Staff should have noticed this on their video system and asked him to move. Currently, there are a lot of empty units at this storage facility, and now I know why.
