I didn't know what size I wanted to commit to and asked if it would be OK to check out a few different storage sizes to feel confident in the storage size that I needed for my belongings. I had a reservation today for a unit at 12pm. I arrived at 12:50pm and couldn't find anyone at the office to let me in. My movers were there and I waited approximately 75-80 mins with no one showing up. I called customer service and they were really unhelpful. Eventually on the 3rd call I got someone to give me the district managers number and extension but I get voicemail. I am paying my movers hourly so I was down already $200 at the point. Then I have them move to another storage nearby since I wanted to get my stuff in before closing time. I called to explain my situation to cancel my reservation that I did not get service for and customer service said corporate policy no refunds so I won't be getting back the ~$240 for the first month. Great now I'm down more than $400 without even receiving service!!! Please make sure you get your storage before day of move. These front office are working from home. read more

Beware of public storage, Alondra location, La Mirada. I tried to set up storage and both times the person in the office did not show up to work. I finally thought it would be a good idea to take care of everything online only to find out that the electricity was not working, and I could not get into the storage facility along with three other people and one person was stuck inside. You would think this would be an urgency for public storage, but it was not everybody, including the person stuck inside was told they would have to wait for a callback. I got a callback two hours later only to be told that the administrative fee they would keep because I did not trust them to provide me the service that they promised. I do not recommend this location. I do not recommend public storage the district manager, Matt, who called me, did not resolve my issue and kept my administrative fee. Keep in mind I never use the storage location because I could never get in. do not use public storage. I'm going to work on getting a class action lawsuit going for this administrative fee for other people who have had the same issue I have that we signed a contract that public storage did not honor and they kept our money. I moved to this PS facility from La Habra as it is closer to my house. No complaints about the cleanliness or accessibility...the automatic lights come on, the elevator has always worked, etc. My only complaint is the personnel that don't seem to be customer-focused. When I first moved in 4(?) years ago I had an issue with office personnel hanging one of those "We Will Return at XX.XX O'Clock", where the clock hands would be moved to the expected return time. MORE THAN ONCE I would get to the facility to discuss an issue, the door was locked, and the sign would say "We Will Return at 11:30am" (example), and I was there at 11:40am. They would return maybe 10 minutes after that, I would voice my displeasure, not get an apology...just some lame excuse. This is a small one-person-in-at-the-counter-facility, and if that person is out to lunch, checking on a unit, or whatever...you will not get served, and you will never know when the front door will be locked, and for how long. I'm not faulting them for only needing any more than one person up front, but it would be nice if that person knew how to set the hands of a clock or was responsible enough to return on time, or to maybe add ten minutes to the return time, then they would be commended for 'maybe' coming back early, and not reviled for coming back late. This last weekend I arrived to remove something from my unit, it was 9:15am (forgot what time they open), but saw a "We're Open!" sign on the front door so drove up to the gate and could not open it with the PS App or manual code. I went to front door to see what the business hours were, and there are none posted! Not their fault they were closed, but it's kind of an indication how they are clueless when it comes to customer service if they hang a deceptive sign like that, and can't even post operating hours. Of course you can go to the web and find out, but they shouldn't waste your time with the lack of/deceiving information. I did call the facility to voice my opinion and someone answered with really poor telephone skills (I have drywall in my garage that has more personality)...and I told him why I was upset. He said "I can't do anything about the signs". I asked to speak to the manager and he said "You can't do that". Really??? The buck stops with the lowest rung on the ladder?? Anyway, I would not recommended using this facility at all, customer service is non-existant, and you would be better-served by a different, larger location with more personnel, or a different company altogether...a company that has longer operating hours...you never know when you will need something earlier or later than you can access PS. I didn't complain about the fees that they charge, but they are high when you factor in their poor service. read more

Major Burglary Ring Hitting Public Storage In La Mirada. This location has had over 30 units broken into in the last week. (2-16-2020) 16 units in the last 48 hours. They are coming in between 8:45PM-9:00PM and looking for units to break into. They are then coming back in the early am like 6AM-6:10AM in the morning, They are going for items that they can resell for money like electronics, tools, high end clothing. If you have items in this location you need to go check on them to make sure that they have not been stolen. If you also can call the area manager for the location and tell them they need to fix the security problem Rachel Rodriguez 707-595-8472 x 2095 if you have their insurance you need to make sure that you have images and a complete list of the items in the storage unit. You should also keep a log of when you are in the unit. I would also check to see if your home owners insurance will cover you unit. Do not rent at any Public Storage. We were renting at a Public Storage off Lambert and Harbor and our rent was going up every fee months, I thought maybe it was just this location because it was a newer facility. We moved and moved our storage space as well to this Public Storage location. We have been here ONE YEAR and our rent has gone from $131 to $191! February 2021 is when we moved in at $131 for a 7'x10', and as of May 2022 our rent will be $191 for the same unit! $60 in 15 months is ridiculous. I will be calling other storage facilities immediately and finding a new facility. read more

So I chose this storage unit facility because it was close to my home. I was told by management that it was a safe storage facility with air controlled storage units. However, when I came take my items I was greeted with a flood. Yes water got in my storage unit and destroyed quite a few things. The manager was very helpful in giving me the insurance information to cover what I had lost. My movers and I took a ton of pictures. My only complaint is that I discovered this mess and nobody from Public Storage contacted me! That's really unprofessional! We could have salvage some of my belongings had they done so. read more

During the last 3 years this particular Public Storage facility has been broken into over 20 times. I was unfortunately a victim twice. One attempted break in and a few weeks later this year they were successful. I'm in the process of looking for a home since I just recently retired from the military so I didn't have a place to store my items. After filing a report with the Sheriffs department and doing some research on my own I found out that all the alarm sensors on each individual unit haven't worked in over three years and there aren't any interior cameras. After calculating replacement costs for most my stolen property it's adds up to almost $13,000.00. The district and regional managers have shown very little concern and the facility staff when asked didn't know how to operate the partially saved video and wouldn't discuss the company's procedures. I spent 20 years on active duty serving this country and traveling the world now most of my collectibles are gone. Very upsetting. I do not recommend storing anything at any of the Public Storage facilities because they do not truly treat the consumers property a priority. Unprofessional at best! You're better off hiring a homeless person to watch your stuff in a stolen shopping cart! Absolutely an ass backwards company to deal with. Highly suggest using somebody else. Even for married couples only one tenant is allowed on lease. So if there is any issue with your unit, good luck getting any help even if you are on the account! Plus if you even fall slightly behind due to an oversight, kiss your locks goodbye because they go to auction! Nightmare business to deal with! Figured I'd give this place the benefit of the doubt. Thinking maybe they had an off day or I was just in a sour mood. Couldn't have been more wrong! Absolutely horrible customer service! Good luck if you need to use a restroom even! They make you walk to the office, which is not close by. Even though there is an intercom right by the restroom. Then after showing an ID and giving your unit number, they give you a key to go all the way back to the building your unit is in. Have a medical condition, they could care less! I would've rather the person behind the counter had told me to F off, rather than the condescending smile as she told me I had to go back to my unit even though there was a restroom closer and never mind you leave a ID and they know your unit number! The facilities are nice and the staff was pleasant. However, I felt lied to and taken advantage of. When I first called and inquired for information I specifically asked for all info about sizing, pricing, and total cost. All the told me was about the rent. So then when I went in to open an account, it wasn't till after I had started signing the agreement, that they dropped the mention of mandatory insurance and a $20 lock. First of all, if I ask about pricing, be upfront about all matters of pricing! Secondly, I don't care what kind of fancy lock it's called, that piece of metal is not worth $20. A pair of bolt-cutters wouldn't stop it any more than the $5 lock at Home Depot. read more

I've had a somewhat large unit for about a year now and last week I transferred to a smaller unit after donating my furniture to a family in need. The girls at the front, Elissa and Lisa, were uber helpful. They helped me find a size that was perfect for my remaining items rather than me choosing just the next size down from my then current unit and paying for too much space. I'm very happy to have this facility and the helpful staff who works to make it a great place to store. It's clean and when I go there are always carts available to use. While my rent has increased twice in the past year, I consider it as a motivational tool to clear out the old and purge those things that are cluttering my life and costing me money. LOL read more

I wish I can give zero star. This is the worse place I have ever seen. The fees are way too high for the level of service - even for renting space. The required use of their locks is outrageous. The added fees stack up. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. They increase their price every year and the service is terrible. The manager (Lisa) take lunch for minimum one and half hour and during this period she lock the office. They take driver license for the cart and we have to wait one and half hour to get our license back. In the advertise there is no mention about closing for lunch in their schedule hours. My ongoing battle with Public Storage in Palm Springs is over, having been decided in my favor. I rented a 10x20 locker for the period May thru July. I moved out mid-July but paid for the entire month as agreed. On August 3rd I was notified that I was being charged for August because I hadn't turned in the lock. The lady in the office never said I had to; in fact, she told me all I had to do was move out. Subsequently there were phone conversations with the facility managers, who were quite insistent and rude, and the district manager, who was especially aggressive and threatening. They even turned the matter over to a collection agency, all the while refusing to deal with CitiCards to resolve the matter. I disputed the $329 fee with my credit card company and they took care of the matter. To show good faith I did pay $33 for those three days in August. The matter is now closed. Coincidentally I was charged a late fee for a smaller unit I have there. After using autopay for months the system mysteriously closed me out so no payment was made. I subsequently paid the monthly fee and the late charge but I suspect some hanky-panky. My advice would be to look elsewhere for a storage unit. read more

This Public Storage in particular had 30 break ends beginning January 2 up until February 17. Not once did the property managers reach out to everyone in the facility to let them know that there had been a rash of break-ins. This is absolutely ridiculous behavior by Public Storage. Hard-working people who trust them to make sure that their valuables are taken care of. And they don't even give them the courtesy of letting them know what's going on only after the damage is done. Do yourself a favor do not rent space from this place, inadequate security, they sell you on having the sensors on the door, that is supposed to trigger a silent alarm. Come to find out they turned them off three years ago( only because of false alarms). But they charge you extra for having that device on your door. Absolutely repulsive, and of course at corporate do you think they would be active in helping the people that had a break in. Absolutely not, they have not reached out to anybody who's been broken into. Have not offered any resolution to try and keep the customers they're just banking on keeping quiet and hoping that it goes away. Public Storage is a joke they just want your money, please take the time to go on YouTube and look at all the negative reviews and videos that were posted about this company. I have had several storage units across the country, and this facility is one of the cleanest I've come across. I had an issue accessing my unit, and the manager Saundra was very friendly and was able to help me. She even brought me a pushcart, so I didn't have to lug my contents in my arms.
