Made a reservation for a 5 X 5 unit at Public Storage. The price, location and how close it was to my home to store extra items were perfect! ...At least I thought it was. I arrive in the morning around 10:15am. Went to the office and it was locked, attempted to call the number on the door but no answer. I went outside for 20-30 minutes with another customer. Finally, I reviewed my email confirmation and it provide the gate code and unit space. That was my fault for not reading it fully, no problem. I pull in with my Uhaul and park near the entrance to my unit. No only do they only have 1 elevator, but it was out of order... Stairwell is at the end of the building and not even convenient to take up items. Still no word from the manager of the Public Storage. I went online and cancelled my unit within 1 hour of reserving. I disputed the charge to my bank and that was the end of it. A couple days past and I receive a call from the manager of the Public Storage, that I cancelled. The female went on to tell me about the charge dispute and say that I'm still going to be charged for the unit. I kindly told the lady that I cancelled within 1 hour of making the reservation. Never went to the unit or used it. Mentioned to her about the elevator being broken and other things wrong with the facility. NO apology.. just I'll still be charged and if I refused to pay, it'll be sent collection.. I had nothing more to say and I disconnected the call. I informed the bank of the interaction with the lady and they told me not to worry since I have documentation showing me cancelling the unit space. I recommend no one go to this Public Storage. Plenty of other near by with functioning amenities and someone to answer all your questions and not call you days later. read more

Beware, This location has a bad theft problem. I had my closed in trailer there for two months started March 2024. I went to check on it in April and found the door had been prayed open. Notified the office that I walked around and found 6 others as well I took pictures. Office not only wasn't surprised but was not interested in the pics to notify the other owners. I told her I would have wanted to be notified because there was still valuable items in my trailer the thieves left. Crickets. I filled a police report and it is now May 26th and nothing. No apologies from Public Storage and did not even offer to reimburse the rent. Pitiful service.. read more

Don't rent here. In less than a year they doubled my rent. Every few months they raised it. When you're a senior on a fixed income, it was devastating. I couldn't afford food or medications due to their greed. The manager said the rent increases were because of the economy. That Public Storage property was paid off decades ago. Although lease term stated that vehicles must be in an "upkept" condition, this was not true to most vehicles in the covered storage area. Tenet next to our space has trucker cab (18 wheeler) over space line and the other side a wide support column. Getting in and out of space was frustrating to say the least. We used space for 2 weeks and decided to go else where after numerous attempts to contact site property manager during normal business hours for assistance on relocating to another space. Maybe a good place to rent for others, but I cannot agree to hand over my money for no customer service.. read more

This was literally the easiest thing about my move!! One phone call with the nicest lady on the planet (I don't remember her name) and she simply texted me a link to my phone. I was all set up and paid for it, keys are in it, gate is Bluetooth enabled. Bam!!! Done in under 2 minutes!!! Nice, indoor, air conditioning, clean, and ready to go!! One week late on a single months payment and was locked out of my unit and was refused access what so ever until paid regardless of me just waiting on a new debit card that was arriving the next day. all while TRYING TO PUT MORE STUFF INTO MY UNIT, not take stuff out of the unit that was empty! and was getting ready to rent 2 more units. Just needed one courtesy use for the elevator on the one day of the week I had to bring multiple bed sets into the unit. Not only does this place make you think you're getting a great deal as you start your first month out for only "$1" but then they add other fees that amount to your monthly cost regardless, either way they clearly don't know how to treat the people that keep them in business. They change the price every few months. Insurance changed within one month of getting space. Bill went up after 3 months to a higher rate. Happened two more times. Would not recommend this company. UPDATE: just received another notice that they're raising the rent again!! It went from 115 to 152 in less than a year. Stay away from this company. When people are out of work and practically homeless, this is what they do. They take advantage of consumers and overcharge. Will never use them again. read more

Located in an older part of Spring Valley, sometimes, we were weary when coming here, due to the fact that we heard a puppy in one of the units. We reported it but it became a concern. I know people still do things that are against the rules. And no offense to the management, but I am just reporting things that actually happened to us. I don't embellish, I don't stretch the truth. This really happened. (I wouldn't be contributing to the site, if I was a liar.) We also saw some customers who appeared to be homeless. They smelled like cigarettes and alcohol. Sometimes, we saw damage to other units. The property was painted once during our rental period. We dealt with management a few times. The manager (who is nice BTW) lives onsite. That is a good thing to know. We had our unit on a month to month basis (we had insurance). We purchased the lock from Public Storage ($20, but it is heavy duty, good quality). You must enter the code to enter AND exit the property. There is an elevator for convenience. There are units with outside access, as well (not sure if those are climate-controlled). There is also RV storage available, as well, towards the back end of the property. This is a large property. Climate-controlled if it is an interior unit (we had an interior unit on the second floor). read more

This morning I sat at the gate for over an hour putting in my code and attempting to log in thru my phone with several other people hoping to gain access. None of us could gain entry. I placed many calls and messages to management regarding this issue and no reply. The gate is broken here at least once a month and doesn't allow me access in. I store work equipment in my unit. I need access daily at 6am. The office doesn't open till like 9am and even then your lucky to get a call back regarding any issues. When the gate issue arises I miss work. There is no compensation for this in any way. There is homeless and crack heads actively living in some of the units. The people coming and going are becoming more of a concern. read more

This place is annoying. For saying it's contactless and all online, I got so far as reserving but then when I realized I had to pay a $20 lock fee and insurance and a $30 registration fee when I really only needed storage for a week, I declined. Which means they've been call you and nag you every couple of hours. Even when you block the calls. It's so pushing that even if I worked out a temporary place only a couple of weeks, I would go somewhere else. read more

We have a car & a storage unit here. Great location to store a car because there is a gas station & two car washes next door. Really helpful when storing or taking our car out. The staff is great & takes daily inventory of the vehicles in storage. read more

I never took possession of the unit, I moved from Northern CA to Las Vegas on Monday, but was charged upfront for Sunday, I reached out to customer service to advise I didn't need the unit and requested a refund, I was then advised they would get that process started for me and reach out to the property manager, I also had been trying to call the manager for the last 4 days with no return calls, I then receive an email from PS stating, my unit is not secure or lock, well duh, I never moved into the unit so no personal items was in it to secure, I have now had to reach out to the district mgr Mr. Russel, we shall see how this goes, if it turns out good I may update my review and stars read more

A very disappointing business posture from Public Storage. The issue is not security or cleanliness,, it is the continuously changing rental rates. We have been customers since June 2022. In a year the rates have increased three times. The property stored is my 92 year old Mother in law's. She is on a very tight fixed income . The initial lease was mid $250.00 over the year it has increased to $374.00 starting Sept. 1 2023. The upsetting issue here is the August fee paid on time, only to have three days later, a notification the rate would increase from $327.00 to $374.00 due Sept. 1 No time to find a more reasonable storage rate, and move. We moved on August 8. to a much lower rate. Public storage apparently has no provision for consideration for a pro rated rate, for leaving their storage facility due to excessive rate increases . Customer happiness/satisfaction is not part of their mission statement. so my mother in law lost a full month lease fee of $327.00. Once.. in the year period,, we were given a lower rate for four to six months , only to have it evaporate, and a significant increase at that. Renter be advised Public Storage rate structures are very unstable . read more

Wow! I called two other storage places to get help with info on a unit and how it worked and this was the first one that was actually helpful. My husband and I are needing a large unit because we are moving and Pam was so nice and patient with my million questions. She gave me all the info I was asking for and she was kind. Plus they don't have enough security cameras around the storage area. The worst public storage !! DO NOT GO HERE ! The staff is very discriminating to people of color. I had a storage with them for a total of 10 months. The day before I came in to clear my storage after calling to tell the staff I was coming my whole storage was broken into. Nobody called me Or told me anything, when I got there the woman who claimed to be a manager wasn't helpful, very rude, treated me like I was less than her; & wasn't helpful at all. She wouldn't give me my access code to the gate, I went into the gate behind another car just to find my whole storage completely vandalized. She didn't help me with the situation what so ever, called the police told the police I broke into my storage & locked me out of the office. When I asked for her name to report her to the D.M she refused to give to me. She's a dirty brown/blonde glasses skinny white woman. Very unprofessional as I was crying about all my things stolen she did nothing to help assist. If you want to get all of your items stolen by staff because this seems like an inside job come here ! Service is fast and convenient and because my unit is right by the very end of the hall I was able to use the back door so there wouldn't be much hassle. The employee who gave me a run down of how things worked was very nice and pretty straight forward with directions. would definitely recommend choosing this company to store your items. :) read more

They quoted me one price yet charge me way more and after 3months they increased my rent on the unit and kept doing so for the year I had to have my stuff in storage. By the year end I moved out my stuff and my rent had doubled and they charged me an extra months rent because they never got back to me that I had moved out. UPDATE: After being a resident of Public Storage here for over a year; I am rather unhappy with the fact that they aren't responsible for anything to happens to your vehicle while it is on the premises. In this case, Parking space 16 and parking space 18 next to our RV continually damaged our vehicle. Space 16 & 18 are huge moving trucks that they use to move everyday so its constantly in and out. The person driving does not know how to park and 1st bent the mirror on our RV and while we were going to take the mirrors off to avoid any further damage (as it's MY responsibility not space 18 that can not park) but we were tight on time and couldn't do it at the time. And to no surprise, space 18 knocked the mirror clean off the van, breaking the bolt and basically ripping the mirror hardware to shreds and the mirror was no where to be found. THAT was a bit surprising as we have consistently found their garbage piled up around and under our RV every time we were in to access the RV. I guess they assumed that if there was no mirror around, then there was no damage? Geez. I realize that Storage places are there to make money. I now understand that the security cameras there so much like other places I have seen cameras; aren't to protect the things inside but to provide information to the property management only. The moving trucks that are parked on either side of our RV are HUGE. Their mirrors actually come over the line on both sides of the parking spot they have. The storage facility should have provided these people a space that could accommodate these large commercial vehicles; as our RV fit inside the lines perfectly, theirs did not and therefore ended up annihilating the mirror on my vintage RV. Seriously disappointed, we moved out yesterday as it was the last straw and I am awaiting to see if I even get prorated for this month. It's not a guarantee (the website states). I couldn't take the chance on anything further occurring. Additionally, the rent here goes up by ten dollars each year. I am not sure if it has a cap or anything but I found another more safe area to store my things, where they do watch the cameras and hold other residents accountable for any type of damage or acts of vandalism like we have experienced here. Super reasonable RV storage in town. Promo for $1 for 1st months rent. Helpful & friendly staff. The response time in communicating via the internet was timely and efficient. They also have a site online where you can pay your bill and check on the payments that have been made. I'm a fan of that for sure. read more

The facility itself is not too bad. I've rented better storage units and I've rented worse. This one is just right down the middle. What I did not care for is the fact that Insurance is mandatory (which I can understand), but they make you get their insurance without the option of looking to get your own. Secondly, I had to buy this stupid little key lock for $17 that I am now stuck with because I have yet to find another storage unit that uses the same kind of lock. They would not allow me to use my own pad lock (frustrating). The staff was friendly enough, you can tell that they're used to dealing with tough patrons as they all have a defensive attitude towards every guest. I guess that comes with the territory I suppose. All-in-all it was not the best experience I've had with storage units. Especially considering the fact that they only have 1 rolling cart to assist with moves. They need to rectify that. read more
