Very disappointed in this facility. For at least a month now, there has been mattresses, furniture and other items that have been left outside our unit, making it difficult to get to ours, every single time we need to access it. We have called management and they claim they will get it moved. It's never their fault and the responsibility of clean up gets passed on to others every time we speak to them. If you try to call corporate, you do not get a live person. Chatted with them online and they are of no help either. Bottom line, Public Storage doesn't mind taking your money each month, but when you have an issue, they don't want to hear it. read more

Initially I was trying to rent a unit online, but was running into an issue. My reservation was set for the following day and on that day I received a call from Kim. We tried to set things up online but something still wasn't working right. Kim set me up an appointment to go to the property. When I arrived, she worked diligently to make sure everything was set up correctly and explained all of the policies to me. It appears this place has done some shady things with rent increases, but at least Heather is trying to make it better. I got a unit here back in Sept. 2022 and was SHOCKED when it jumped up 40 dollars at the 6 month mark. That is just not a good business practice. HOWEVER, I called and spoke with Heather on the phone, and asked her if there was anything she could do, and she was professional and understanding and then reimbursed the extra amount and put the rate back to where it was. I was ready to move out of my unit, but now I'll stay. Thank you Heather!!! I'm giving 4 stars, but will raise it if this new rates stays put for a while. read more

Been there for 8 years. In the last 9 months they have raised my rent twice at $100 each time. I started paying $66 a month for a 5x20. Then $266 for a 10x30, now that unit is $454. Total fleecing. No help at all from management. Goodbye to PS forever! read more

Used Public Storage for first time. Shocked at how much they charge people for storage & how quickly rates can go up. I rented a 10x7.5 unit and after 3 months, we decided that we needed a larger unit (due to issues with another storage unit, Extra Space). I went online & found a unit that I wanted, but when I went to local office (where my unit was), I was told that the internet rate was only for "New" customers & I was not eligible. I was a current customer (with ontime payments) and looking to upgrad at same location but they would not give me internet rate & said my rate was $50/mth more. I decided to look elsewhere & went to Advantage Storage (they seem to be the best of the worst). When I initially rented with Public Storage I called corporate office & was told that contracts are month-to-month & when we cancelled, we would get a prorated amount back. I also called corporate again when I inquired about the larger unit & not being able to get internet rate & was again told that I could cancel (I had just made payment 3 days earlier) & I would be given a pro-rated refund. I emptied my unit & cleaned it up and when to office to tell them. She said that if i "vacated" unit now (3 days after I paid months storage), I would no longer have access through gate & that there would be NO REFUND. I told her what corporate told me & she said that they do not give refunds. They can also rent out my unit that same day, to get DOUBLE PAYMENT for that month...what a RIP-OFF. I asked to speak to the Manager/District Manager & I was given phone number for "Jessica". I have called her 3 times & have only been able to leave voicemails. She has NEVER called me back. I can see how employees have no concern for customers since their management does not have any. 3 calls with voicemails asking for return call & NO RETURN CALLS....Sad & Terrible Customer Service and management!!!! I never used Public Storage before. I arrived but the property manager was out. I didn't know what to do so I finally figured out how to access the Gaye code. I got in. Finally figured out how to get in climate control. I was annoyed at how many times the app stuck and wouldn't let me in. Annoyed putting my stuff in storage by myself. The property manager finally came back. She was a nice young lady. Just had a few questions for her. She answered them and did a follow-up call. I liked that! She was polite and respectful. I felt weird inside the climate control unit. Felt like a horror movie about to go wrong inside there. Gave me the heebie geebies. read more

Customer Service at it's worst!! Do not rent space here. I have been renting space for 2 years. I called to alert them I would be moving my things out on 1/4/19. I pay almost $200 a month and asked if there was proration or discount for me being there just 4 days past the 1st of the month. The person I spoke with immediately said NO and then "I suggest you move your stuff out before the 1st." What??!! This is good customer service?! I am so upset to be treated like...Oh, you're moving...So what? Pay us! I suggest you take care of customers who never pay late better than this. This was a horrible experience. DO NOT USE THEM! HORRIBLE! They force you to take their insurance even when you have your own. They tell you you have to come back IN THE OFFICE to refuse it at a later time than when you get the unit. Now they have billed be multiple months for it after I went in TWICE to have them remove it and now they are refusing to reimburse me for the fees they STOLE. The lady at Justin Rd wouldn't tell me how long cancel a unit. A simple, "by the end of the month" was all she had to say as i found out several calls later. they raised my unit rent from $55/month at the 6mo mark and i was not on a move in special. they get you in then price gouge you. Called to change my card on file and left a msg that if I couldn't answer please leave a vm telling me if i need to come in or if we can do it over the phone. She refused to leave a simple msg either time then put in the computer notes that i was mad about the rate increase. I was upset that she kept trying to cancel my unit instead of telling me how much time i needed to give her. when i rented the unit it was from a young guy that was super nice, when i went back in to ask a question the same lady bullied over everything the young man tried to say without having any prior knowledge of our conversations. I will be out as soon as possible. I was hesitant to send this bc i may need office help in the future but i dont want anyone else treated like i have been. If i see repercussions on my account of my units i will be glad to come add that here and anywhere else that will listen. read more

Cara at the Justin rd location in Lewisville was so warm and friendly. Very knowledgeable and helpful! Lots of handicapped parking, but not great if you are actually disabled and by yourself. (Only reason why not 5 stars). I can't reach the keypad and the door at the same time before it locks again. perhaps a security measure? But makes things harder for me personally. Also the doors to get in are heavy and must be pulled towards you to open. Again, very hard to do alone and with a disability while carrying things, and having to hit a keypad that you can't reach. 5 stars for security, cleanliness, awesome staff and very cold a/c read more

I moved into public storage expecting to only stay a month I was there for over a year but it was painless. The rent only went up once which is a pain but it could've been much worse. The place is extremely secure, needing to use a keypad to drive in and drive out. Also, since I was in the climate controlled part moving my things in and out became a nuisance because entering a pin while you're carrying things is rather difficult. I still give this place five stars because even though that was a pain my things were safe. I kept my things at a different storage facility where they had a break-in so I'll take extra security over not enough any day. Lastly, the place was super easy to move out of. I don't believe in auto-draft so I didn't have any issues being charged when I moved out. They also didn't require a notice to move out and let me prorate my an additional week instead of paying the full month. All in all, no issues and the people were pretty nice. read more

I personally would find another storage option. I have used this storage facility on 2 seperate occasion. In my last experience, I was scheduled to move out 2 days after my contract date. The Storage facility called to inform me I would still have to pay the full month since the date was after the contract date. I sort of expected this. It was my timing that was the issue, and not theirs. I was on auto draft for this init. But it appears when I gave notice they took it off auto draft. Due to weather I had to postpone for 1 week. At this time I made my full month payment. But now they said I owed a late payment as well. In my opinion common cutomer courtesy would have allowed them to waive this late payment. However, they absolutly refused (even though they were already getting a full months payment without the unit being occupied). The money was not the object. however, cutomer service in todays world is a critical factor. Not only will I never use this Public Storage again, I encouge others to take their business to someone else who believes customer service is also important. read more

Public storage is like most storage, but they don't even maintain a dumpster for their customers. Low to poor customer service. Their customer service is bad too. One star entirely for the poor management responsiveness. The facility itself would warrant 4 stars. It is air conditioned, clean, alarmed and the units in good condition. The problem for me came upon move out. My unit had been set up for auto pay to my credit card - which bills automatically at the beginning of the month for that month. I ended up moving out a couple days into the month. According to the contract and the employees on duty, since I had already been charged, they would refund the monthly charge to my credit card and then charge my card for the new pro-rated amount. The day of move out however, I was told their computer system was down. I gave them my cell number and asked them to call me when the system came up. Never got a call. Returned in person the following day, was told that the system was still down, but that they would email the manager to take care of the charges and I should see it reflected on my card in 3-4 days. About 10 days later, still nothing.... So, I call again. The girl I speak with tells me she will research the charges and call me back - no call. Another week or so.... I planned to rent a 10x15 climate controlled unit from this location. When I showed up with heavy Public Storage padlocks (previously purchased from the same location a few years ago) I was told that I had to use the round padlocks, conveniently available for $20 each. When I asked why, I was told they are more secure and more difficult to cut. Apparently they have an issue with theft from locks being cut since they insist tenants use the round padlocks - a new policy they recently put in place. I went down the street to McGee's (locally owned) and got the same size, climate controlled unit for $30/month cheaper AND I can use my old Public Storage locks. They didn't try to upsell with insurance (most home owners policies cover off-site property) or any other unnecessary items. Oh and guess what? If I did want to purchase the round locks, McGee's sells them for $8. read more

I loved the $1 for first month promotion! I had told Andrea, the manager, that I really wanted a 20 x 30 and all that was available when I reserved the unit was a 20x20. She called me the week before I rented and told me that a 20 x 30 was available and she had already changed my reservation! I thought that was great customer service. The renting process was EXTREMELY smooth (online!!) and she walked me to my unit and pointed out all the facility's features. They have special amenities, such as restroom facilities, water fountains, and free use of moving dollies. Great company, great location. Highly recommend.....5 stars!! read more
