Just got my items out of Storage and Everything and I mean everything has been chewed up and damaged from rats. Rat urine, poop on everything. My sofa and love seat is less than 2 years old and cost me 5,000 and it is chewed up. The insurance covers nothing and they force you to get it. I spent more on the 2 units in insurance fees than what they allow. 250 plus deductible. If I would have known, I would have simply paid someone to take all of my items from the 10x30 AND the 10x20 unit to the dump. Instead... I spent $18,000 for out of state movers to find that hardly anything olis salvagable. This is APPAULING. I found out that the owners were aware of the issue and I received NO notice. Just constant price increases. We need to take them to court of sue them for negligence. read more

Do you enjoy the smell of rat urine? Do you love the sight of rat feces? Do you have items you always wish could be destroyed by rats? Then this is the location for you! We had been in this location in a climate-controlled unit for over 10 years without issue. Then in spring of 2024 we noticed that there was a rat infestation. We didn't put too much stock in it because we had been there so long and they had always taken care of it. The building also smelled like someone had urinated in a corner, which was my assumption because there are no bathrooms on site. In September, I went back to get stuff out of my unit and the entire building so smelled so foul that I could barely breathe. The halls were lined with rat feces (and still are as of this review). When I opened my unit I found a dead, soupy rat in it. There was rat urine and feces all over my unit. I immediately went to the front office to speak to a manager, but it was closed, despite it being the middle of the business day during the working week and their posted open hours. I then called the number on the door, it went to voicemail, so I left a message and never received a call back. I went back two days later and "soupy" was still there. I went to the office again and no one was there again, so I called and left another vm. Never got a call back. I had my spouse call and leave a vm. We still never heard back. I ended up cleaning "soupy" out of the unit myself and trying to prevent further ingress into my unit myself, despite it being in my rental contract that they property was in charge of preventing this. Over the next few months I tried to contact corporate headquarters. I had two online chats where I was assured someone from the corporate offices would contact me by EOB. I never got a call. I called their customer service and spoke with an agent. She assured me someone would call me by EOB. I never got a call back. I repeatedly tried to get in touch with anyone who could help me and never ever got a call back. At Christmas time, I brought my artificial tree home, set it up, and immediately regretted it. It smelled of rat urine and stunk up my whole house. Rat feces fell out of it and onto the floor of my home. The tree is no longer sanitary or useable. At this point, I filed a claim with the insurance that we pay $15/mo extra for. This has also not been a smooth process. So far they are claiming they will only cover a very nominal portion of the damage done to the goods in the unit, which means it is going to cost me extra time and money to make things right. The building still smells heavily of rat urine, even in the cold of January. I have moved out of this building and everything that was in it still smells heavily. After moving it, my car smelled of rat urine. Public Storage will not make this right without my forcing them to do so. They won't even call me back! I do NOT recommend this storage site. There are other PS sites that are better maintained and with more responsible district managers. Seek storage elsewhere unless you are okay with rodent damage and smells. read more

This location has a MASSIVE rodent (rats, mice) infestation. Especially in building A It has been infested for at least 6 months. The management, including district management, have been aware of the infestation for at least that long, and made no attempt to alert the tenants. their orange door insurance will reimburse only $150 after $100 deductible. Multiple rental units have major unsalvageable rat damage. I give a 1 star rating only because I had to rate at least one star. it deserves 0 stars. read more

Massive rat problem that isn't be addressed or talked about. Staff never told me how serious the issue is. IT IS extremely bad, it's not a couple, it's an ARMY of rats. Only had the unit for a week and rats have completely destroy all my stuff. I've since removed everything out of the unit and in process of dropping the bill. read more

This place sucks. The back gate has not been working for 2 weeks , there has not been a property manager on the site for a week, there's a sign on the front office door to call the Justin Rd office , but they don't even answer. The storage charge is ridiculous, they increase my rent by $140 dollars, I've only been here 4 months paying at a rate of $259 but now next month I will be charged $400, I'm glad I closed my account here , I would not recommend this place to anyone. The storage unit is hot, and they are supposed to be climate control which I paid extra for but they don't even have the air conditioning running inside the units. There's roaches everywhere. This place is filthy and this place ain't it. read more

Very unprofessional experience!!! Vacated the storage. last day of the month... Updated in the account online on the same last day of the month. They send me an email saying I vacated on the 1st and I had to pay full amount or they would set me on collection!!!! Have used them and still use them since years.... but unprofessionally increased the price every few months... I saw multiple other folks vacating the same day as me... Just signed with them last night and spoke to Melissa - she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She took time to show us several different available units - after we saw the one I reviewed online and realized that it was too small for what I needed. she took time to show us several other options (ended up with a unit 2 times the size of the original once I reserved - because I did NOT understand how much stuff I have!) and she honored matching the online pricing for the new unit we picked (as it was different than the original unit I requested). Only thing I would recommend is to buy your own lock (they charge about $22 for a special lock for this location) - that's not Melissa's fault - so I didn't let the lock charge change my overall 'great!' experience. read more

Moved in with special deal - within 2 months they raised my rate and another 2 months later raised it again. Took 6 months to get lights installed and working. Finally the third time they raised rates I moved out. They repeatedly double charged me or claimed I had a past due balance when I had evidence that my account was current. About 15 years ago I went into this public storage story inquiring about storage unit sizes, prices, smells, leaks, and a little bit of everything in between. The individual at the front desk brought me to their BIGGEST unit. As we were discussing, she asked me if I had big furniture. WOW, way too personal of a question! She then started suggesting that in order for me to "fit in" I would have to 69 all of my chairs and couches in the unit. Found this place for boat storage online. Best price available in area. It is not covered storage but it is gated and secure. We pay$42/month. Best price we found and feel pretty good about the location. It is a little disgusting that the back gate is broken and that is why the 4 stars only. It's a hassled for us when we take the boat out to have to go back through the buildings to go out front gate. I really wish they would repair the problem. Located directly off I35 for convenience and not far from the lake for pleasure. The first month they billed us wrong and it took a little bit to get it resolved but they did get it corrected and it's gone smoothly since then. read more

As far as storage spaces go I would rate this as average. There have been an abundance of security issues with break ins (my unit included once), doors that will not open with pass codes and main gates stuck open for anyone to enter. It's public storage so not sure you can expect much more than that. My main issue is the regular increase of monthly storage fees. Worst experience i had i called the manager made an agreement on when i was going to pay and how much i was going to pay. But when i got there she acted like she didn't know what i was talking about. She added extra fees to my payment after one day of not paying when the bill was due on the 1st and i paid on the 2nd i got charged $57 dollars late fee. So i don't recommend renting out a space here it's terrible. read more

She explained that the main manager, Geoff, knows everyone who rents there by name and runs a tight ship, as well as, 24 hour camera surveillance, and daily property checks,which made me feel confident that my belongings were going to be safe and secure. We went to 4 storage facilities before settling on this Public Storage. It had an online discount per month, the first month for $1, good security and the unit size we wanted, a 7.5 by 10 ft. The only surprise was a $9/month insurance fee. We were not aware that this is required by some or all facilities. read more

The company must be desperate for employees to keep Geoff around. On 1/8/15, I entered the office in hopes of contracting storage for my son. No one was present. Then I heard the unmistakable moans coming from the back room. Praying I wouldn't find what I heard, I found Geoff in the arms of a half naked woman. Awesome. I left very angry. My son reported the incident to the district manager,Tracy. Tracy assured my son that this would be investigated fully. Well we went back 2 weeks later, Geoff was still there! So either there was no investigation or PS is desperate for employees. I wouldn't recommend Public Storage for anything. Constant break ins, forcing insurance on renters; I never saw an insurance license posted for Geoff. Isn't that illegal? Gates never work properly, things going Unrepaired for months, shady staff and management. Nope, no recommendations from me. read more

Did not get a chance to use this place for more than a month, but may offer some helpful hints... 1. Bring a hefty lock...I forgot one and had to buy a ridiculously expensive one. 2. Individual gate codes 3. From closet sized to big enough to be a bedroom; inside or outside 4. Located between exits and a tiny front lot to park in, definitely no idling in the driveway. 5. I sit here trying to pay my storage bill at Public Storage, 601 Stemmons Fwy, Lewisville, Texas and they have taken away my right to pay by debit card and checking account so tomorrow morning, February 23rd, 2022, my 2 storage units will be auctioned off to strangers who will sell off anything of value (there is nothing) and trash the memories of my mother and all of my 25+ years of personal things that are worth nothing to anybody except me, but these bastards at Public Storage won't discuss my account with me and tell me why one unit is paid up and I'm able to move out, yet the other 2 are being auctioned off tomorrow, and, mind you, I paid them all at the same time, but nobody and I mean Ive tried from the top down to get somebody to get off their collective asses and explain to me how this is even possible, but no response. I rented a storage unit here at the end of June 2015. I was told at that time upon move out they would prorate the amount owed if I moved between the 1st and the 6th of the month. Today I called them to let them know I would be moving out on the first of the month. The lady I talked to told me I would have to pay for the full month and the prorate was conveniently stopped this month. I told her what I was told and she said "I don't know why they told you that".
