Do not trust the management of Public Storage Los Gatos. The management made changes to my account without authorization. I recieved an e-mail on mother's day stating that my auto-pay had been turned off and that a move out day had been set. I called the customer service number and was guided to the Los Gatos Public Storage management's vm box. An individual who identified themselves as Andrea admitted to making the change without my consent. When I asked her to resovle the issue she stated she could not. Then she proceeded to call me rude. Issue still not resolved. Who knows what else the staff is doing with your account, account information and your property. Incompetent staff with horrible customer service. read more

There are concerning discrepancies between the advertisements and the actual facility. It is not climate controlled. There are no locks on the doors to the buildings. You don't get a refund on the lock and they won't tell you which lock you need if you sign up online. But there's a lock drop box so why did they put that there? There's been break ins there, easy to see how... the fence is not very tall, and it's on a hill so it would be really easy for someone to just hop the fence from above. Worst of all, I came to get some stuff out and there were rat droppings in the hallway and the whole place smelled like rat urine. That can literally kill someone. Add that to the stale, hot air in the summer and it's a recipe for disaster. They send harassing texts and emails if you're on the property for literally a minute past 9pm but then they don't respond to concerns about rodent feces, no empathy for people who are sickened by their willful neglect. Did I mention the floors in the upstairs feel like there going to fall through. Oh and there's no elevator but the website also said that there is. They raise the rent after 3 months.... By a lot. It's not good, it's bad. All around bad. Rat piss and heatstroke are a bad combo. read more

I came in yesterday morning to set up a account to rent a storage room and was greeted by Maria. She took the time to explain everything and help me with some technical issues I was having. Got a phone call that my lock was tampered with. Came down and saw two other units were broken into as well. 10's of thousands of dollars stolen. Police involved. The front desk staff was as helpful as she could be. (Hence the two stars) but public storage in general? They don't have one security camera up and running. No security codes on any doors. There is basically no security, and no one that answers the phone to help. It took over 8hrs for the locksmith to come and replace the lock. Meaning I spent hours waiting so the rest of my things didn't get stolen. Very poorly managed protocol for this situation. For all the money they make they should put a little of that into upgrading their security systems. I would take your money and items and move it a more secure storage company. I'm pretty dumbfounded by the lack of security. I will be moving my things to a different company within the next day or two read more

Be Aware !!! They have raised the rent twice in less than one year. With two price increases, the rent has gone up over 70% in one year. Yes... a 70% increase in 12 months! The manager is very polite, although she has no control over the extortion and price gouging by Public Storage. We all know their costs have not increased over 70% in one year. Price gouging !!! I had a very easy and efficient storage experience. Maria showed me the unit and pointed out the access doors and including use of their moving carts. I set up everything online, reserving the storage unit and completing application and payment which is great during these Covid times. Texts were provided stepping me through the procurement and move-in process. Opted to include the Orange Door Insurance which included a circular lock. They offer helpful storage tips to ensure we use our space efficiently as well as protect our furniture and box placements We are renting a 10x10 and arrived with our stuff in a Uhaul truck. Maria instructed us on most efficient way to park and access doors. All went well and we highly recommend Public Storage in Los Gatos. read more

This Public Storage has very bad customer service. They make changes to the hours of operation, disallow access to facilities and increase rents without any written notice. My dealings with the Manager Michelle have been less than good. read more

Location is conveinent. There are no carts centrally located where the units are and no lights in the units. Putting and taking off locks from units can be confusing. Overall the place is clean. read more

Worker there Valea is professional and outstanding. Company raises rates every six months. Started at 105 for five by ten and in two and half years, unit went to 154 dollars a month. It appears to be price gouging, I am not happy with constant raising rates. I do not recommend public storage due to their excessive priced raising once you sign up with them. This has angered me to no end. I have been gone from this company for four months, no follow-up as to why I left. I see that leaving them was the best choice. All of my dealings there have been with Valea, and I've found her to be quite professional and responsive. I have rented various storage facilities from this location since 2011. Despite my disdain for rising rates I continue to stay at this facility because of Valea. She has outstanding customer service and takes pride and care in assisting her clients. She takes the time to get to know everyone and keeps a watchful eye over the facility. The robbery of our unit was so unbelievable that it took me more than a year to finally gather up the nerve to go to Public Storage (761 University Ave, Los Gatos) and clear it out. The robbers stole everything of value, Christmas ornaments, "kid ornaments", items from my Mother, and Father etc. What they didn't steal they broke. It was awful to face it all. The manager at the time knew we had been broken into but didn't notify us until about a week later. Their entire "security " system consists of the manager walking around the building looking at the locks. The robbers cut the PS slider that the lock goes through. They then laid the lock back on it. If you looked at it, it looked like it was locked, but if you touched it the lock just dropped off. It took them more than a year to get this fixed, and only after I put up a stink. After speaking to a number of their employees the general consensus is that the upper management at Public Storage is cheap beyond anything you can imagine. These slum lords have no plans to add any security. Nice employees do not negate the need for a secure site. Don't be fooled by smiling faces, who will sell you boxes. read more
