Switch bait! You get a better deal if you sign up online. So, I signed up online. It said my price was $61 monthly for the unit I selected. By the end of signing up online it says the price would be $80 monthly. I went into the store to finish signing up and find out how I got my keys. I spoke with the representative and she said I signed for the $80 per month there was nothing she could do. I tried live chatting with a representative and they said the same thing. I tried explaining that it started off saying the price was one thing then changed to a high price. They didn't care. They were not willing to honor the lower price. read more

I've had my storage unit for 5 years here and I am canceling immediately now!! There was a mix up on there end to my automatic payments. Three months later i had to pay $800 to get access to my unit just in "late" fees!!! They finally found the problem apologized but said they couldn't refund me the $800 because it was already in their system. After days and days of speaking with corporate and anyone and everyone they told me I would get a 70% discount on 6 months.... Which I ended up staying for the 6 months which brings us to this month. Went in to cancel my unit and move out. I can't access my unit again and Aaron and Renee are there and state there is nothing they can do I owe $500 from 6 months ago and they will not let me in the unit that is paid. Worst two people ever!!! They were soooo rude and offered no help what so ever with calling a manager or corporate or anything. Told me they didn't care if I got into my unit or not it's not their problem. Proceeded to hand me my bill and said you can leave now. read more

If considering renting storage space from a Public Storage Facility..think twice and here's why: (#1) Bait & Switch Tactic - to get customers they may advertise a $1.00 move-in promotion, but will cost more than a dollar. you will be required to purchase 'their' lock, & 'their insurance...this info is not advertised in their so-called $1.00 move-in cost. (#2) Their RENTAL PRICES are CONSTANTLY going up after you move in. Prices rise but you get NOTHING (no property improvements, no facility maintenance repairs (had a broken roof drain downspout swaying in the wind next to my unit - held on by one bracket. Could have came loose and injured someone. Told office several times. Response was okay, you can take it down. That's their responsibility! Finally it must've fallen down, but NOT REPLACED, so there's the possibility of water entering my unit), (#3) There's NO PRO-RATING of rent if you happen to move out before the end of the month - they get to KEEP EVERYTHING!!! They DON'T tell you that when you move-in, but you'll find out when you move-out (I did), after being a customer for about 5 - 6 years. In essence, they keep your FULL month's rent and can turn around and rent out 'your vacated unit' and collect rent from a new customer (double-dipping). For example even if you start on the FIRST of the month...pay THAT MONTH'S rent..then MOVE-OUT the VERY SAME day..they keep the FULL MONTH'S rental. I've found another CLEAN BRAND NEW facility, a LARGER unit, MOVE-IN COST was exactly what they said it would be with insurance included, AND the MONTHLY rental was over a $100.00 cheaper. Save your MONEY, save the HEADACHES, and RESEARCH other facilities before choosing PUBLIC STORAGE. read more

This place is amazing! It's so easy to use and super secure, and the staff was so nice! I'm so glad I chose them for storage!

My 6 month rental turned into 3.5 years, and today I finally moved all my stuff out. Out of sight out of mind, right?! haha :) While I stored my stuff here though I have had nothing but good experiences, and friendly staff interactions. I was late on payments a few times and did get hit with the fees, but that was on me for being late, and I would always receive a friendly phone call reminder from Jennifer, and an email. It was very easy to pay online, or have the option to go into the office to pay. My one suggestion would be to install lights in all of the units though, I had back corner unit and it has no light, and too far for sunshine to reach, so I had to use my phone flashlight to go through things. Besides that I would say my experience was great, and I would recommend renting a unit here :). read more

I was looking for a good and affordable storage unit place with the minimum storage of 5x5. I found the Public Storage in Murrieta. I had to go back the next day why I don't know. Cutting to the chase it's a new and nice big storage, but what's lacking is their employees lack of honesty taking the effort to educate a new clientele to how to get in and out to their storage unit including your own. It's more redundancy with having to enter your code first with a symbol, the numerical code followed by a # sign three times just to get to your storage. Their friendly but usually are sitting when I was there. I saw other irritated customers not new to the facility and was surprised by the lack of effort shown bt their two employees I encountered. After putting getting to my smallest storage unit after trying my code several times I put a few items. I live overseas and I think their rates are too high maybe because of their insurance and it being a new place. The next day I quit the place and checked my bank account and I found a fraudulent charge to my account. I won't go into the details but I use to be a lawyer (no kidding)! I find their laziness to work, inform and yet go back to their office. Maybe you'll have a better experience than me. You're own you own. read more

I've been a customer at this Public Storage location for a while as I store my boat there. Everything has been good up until today. They billed me for my months rent on 9/2 and on 9/3 i received a notice that they were closing down the RV storage area. Boat storage is hard to find right now as I called over 20 locations before finding one. Since it's so hard to find options I have been forced to pay double storage for a month. I spoke to the lady inside and she really didn't care and confirmed they new months ago that RV storage customers would be getting kicked out. Instead of doing the right thing and letting people know in advance they were greedy and are causing a bunch of people to have to pay extra for the month. read more

My wife and I just rented a 10' x 7' unit and I have two opinions about this: the first is that Mary Kay, Jennifer and Natalie were great. They helped me understand the process and showed me the unit and I'm happy with that. The other opinion is that I did not know about having to purchase additional insurance to cover the unit and my contents. That was the only surprise and I had not figured on this when working on the budget for the unit. Other than that, it was good - Mary Kay was VERY clear up front about the lock and showed me where the unit is located and the doors for access and all. Jennifer and Natalie finished up my paper work and followed the process and did a great job as well. We really enjoyed and appreciate the customer service at this location, very well done. read more

This public storage is fantastic. All the woman running the show are friendly attentive and thorough. The great thing about this location over many others out here in the is that they offer several "climate controlled" units. IMHO that is the only unit you want in this extreme heat and temperature swing area. I guess if your storing some items for a very short period the standard units might be fine but if you've got any electronics or papers that you want to maintain the condition, climate controlled is the wary to go. This location also offers outside parking for RV's, boats, cars, jet ski's, etc. It's uncovered but there nice size spots. read more

We have moved several times and need to place our stuff in storage. We have gone with Public Storage many times. This past move we had to include storage for our boat. we had it at a place closer to the house for convenience, although the location was convenient the people were not. My husband called PS spoke to Mary Kay (she had helped us before the move, during the move and since we have moved) not only is PS more competent but, she was able to get us a better deal on on boat storage making the convenience factor obsolete. read more

I can't recommend this property. I stored my belongings there for 7 years and 9 months. Never late in rent, no past due balance, and that customer loyalty was rewarded with a very negative move out experience which cost me time - literally hours - when I should have been on the road, driving cross country. It's too long to write out but trust me, go elsewhere. I'll NEVER use Public Storage again. That actually means something, as a Peace Corps volunteer with very long assignments. My money will be spent, and possessions stored, elsewhere. read more

Beware- your reservation means nothing. Reserved a unit online last week, they called me to confirm and now it's gone. Called me the day before move in (that we both agreed on) and told me they rented it. Offered a different unit same size for $50 more a month. Pretty shady business. I told them if that was the case, I would go rent elsewhere. Very disappointed, but happy to give my money to another business. read more

If I could give this a negative star, I would in a minute. I have never encountered a more ruthless, non caring business in my entire life. I have stored my trailer here for 18 mos and it has been broken into three times. The reaction from the staff and management is "oh well". Asked to see camera footage they state "None available". When looking at the cameras after this last break in, they are pointing to the ground and to the sky. Can't see where they are much help. They advertise "secured area and satisfaction guaranteed " and believe me that is not the case!!!! If you value your property DO NOT store here!!!! read more

She asked me come back tomorrow and of course I couldn't I was leaving the state, she proceeded to apologize and did not want to help me!!! This place is not kept up, not attentive or friendly. They felt they had to call me and tell me that we had tracked dirt through the indoor storage area when they are literally charging us full price and have been doing construction for months now and there is dirt everywhere. When i first moved into that storage there was a broken fire extinguisher which spread white powder all through the hallway and had been all over the floor for 2 weeks before they had it cleaned. The powder is bad for you to breathe in and a health hazard. The place is not kept up and and you arent able to use a dolly or a cart to move your stuff because its so bumpy being on the rocky dirt road now. I dont recommend this place if ypu ever have to put stuff in or take stuff out of storage. Also with this construction going on there are trucks going through all the time and no signs up so when i walked out the door i was almost hit by a construction truck right away. Now im more observant going through that door but there should be signs up for the drivers or the people coming out to open the door slowly because its a narrow road for them and for doors to be opening there. Sometimes I get there and theres trucks parked in front of the storage door not allowing me to go in through that door. read more

I called got a price quote went in the next day and they had raised it by $30. Not cool I think if you're going to give somebody a quote it should be good for at least a couple of days. When I told them about my quote they said their prices change daily. I think what it was is they saw me pull up with my U-Haul and realize they could take advantage of me and they did. read more

Staff is very nice but Corporate Management is unresponsive to any communication. I have rented a 10X15 Storage garage for over a year and the Lights near my unit have been out since I moved in. I have contacted management via Email and the local staff has said management is aware of the issue but it has never been resolved. Corporate Management has not even responded to my request two months ago. read more

By chance, we stopped by this facility while looking for a new home for our Motor Home. Recently, we moved to the Murrieta area but were forced to keep our RV in San Jacinto. Now, that property sold and you guessed it, the monthly rent will go up. The Murrieta facility is exceptionally clean, well secured with pleasant management and front office reps. The only constructive criticism is with the New Account Receipt. Some of the $ amounts contradict themselves. I will approach Jennifer in the office for clarification. So I'm pretty pissed . I am a customer of 7 years I have never been over a month late ever not once I paid my storage by check after a few days I didn't see it paid by my bank I thought it was strange so I took the cash went to pay my storage on June 31st . This is 100% true story . They were so busy I waited over An hour anddddd there computers were down not taking payments . They quote told me not to wait to go to work and I was fine I told them of the situation they said they had my back and I would not have fees because they knew me and they knew I came in to pay . 2 weeks later the check came back they put me in auction in status and a Lein fee check fee and I had to pay current month so my 148 became 400 dollars I'm a single mom !!!!! No one had my back and I was in there to pay on time ! They told me to go . I'm so mad ! And broke now ! This is how a 7 year customer is treated !!!! I'm appalled ! read more
