My experience with the Murrieta location is devastating! I became displaced from work due to covid. After the 600$ unemployment boost ended in July, I was only able to make a payment in August. September I wasn't able to make one and October I wasn't able to make one. My things, through notification by Nathalie, was to be auctioned off in mid November. I was waiting for Nevada's l.w.a. payments to pay for my storage. Nevada is and was heavily backed up. It going into January and I STILL haven't received a payment from Nevada. I explained this to Nathalie and she said that she would note this on my account. I tried to speak with Anthony urroz and he said he would ask his boss bilal valshi and get back with me with an answer. Bilal had a resounding "No!" And this was conveyed to me by Anthony. Thinking that bilal may have not understood my circumstances, I called him to tell him why I hadn't paid and begged him to not auction off my things. He refused! I told him that I didn't care about my furniture because I could always purchase those back when I got on my feet again. I asked that they hold back my boxes of clothes because in September, my son passed away and wanted at least that and my pictures kept. He said that they could only ask that the buyers leave those behind, but that there were no guarantees. I called almost every 2 days after receiving a receipt of my belongings being sold for a whole $ 320.00. I was told by Jonathan that it's common for buyers to pull up with a trailer and just take everything out. He also claimed that they may not have gone through everything just yet. I was heartbroken. I made the mistake of putting my tax returns and other sensitive documents in my storage. I called back again, and Jonathan apologized for me losing my things but that there is nothing more that he could do, as he called the buyers several times, but they never answered. My spidey senses started tingling, so i called back about a week later to see if they were able to contact the buyers. I now am speaking back to Nathalie because I guess my number kept showing up on their caller i.d. and she wanted to avoid speaking to me. Now that I'm on the phone with her, she tells me that the buyers never picked up my things. She said that this has never happened before. She also stated that one of the district managers said that I could bid on my own things by going to storagetreasures.com. I did, won my bid and called anyone I knew that still lived in Cali. I don't know many people there still and the ones that I did know, we weren't close at all. As a matter of fact, they were just former coworkers. However, one said he would, but stopped taking my calls as it came closer to picking up my things. Another said he had other things to do. Others were also affected by vivid and no longer had the means to help me, then one guy responded and said he would help. However, he didn't want to be responsible for anything and wanted to hear from the property manager, himself, that he didn't have to sign any papers. So the day of time to pick my things up, I called during normal business hours, at various times, but no one picked up the phone. I'm now frantic, the guy that's supposed to get my things is annoyed and decided that he had other things to do. So now my things are still there. I again call Anthony and he pretty much brushes me off and says he'll ask bill again. Guess what that answer was...you guessed it, "No!". I tried calling thrift, donation places, and even selling it on fb marketplace. Thank goodness I didn't sell it on fb...because the buyers would have been upset with me. I used the picture on storage treasures to advertise and noticed that my shoe boxes that were at the front of my storage were GONE. When Nathalie thought that I wasn't coming to get my things initially, she did mention that the buyers took some things but not everything. Now to the juicy part. I called Anthony once more to beg for 3 days for me to drive out there to pick up my things and he said No! He mentions that the original buyers didn't even come and pick up my things, but that they will have movers get my stuff out of storage and that I will be s.o.l. so now I'm I'm piecing together that these bitches lied to me the whole time. Though someone may have bid on my things, there were no numerous calls to the buyers. They didn't come and retrieve my things, my things were there the WHOLE TIME...well partially. Because I figured out that they lied to me, I drove 3,000 miles back to California to get my things. When I tell you when I showed up to their location, Jordan looked shocked and scared. I didn't exactly know why he did until I paid for my unit and gained access to it. All of my boxes were GONE! Most of my furniture was gone. I was left with my file cabinet, but you could clearly see where they tried to gain access to it with a sharp tool. The contents of my file cabinet were on a dresser that they must not have had a big enough vehicle. read more

Jennifer was so helpful and friendly she made the process easy and fast to complete. The place is so clean and easy access to your spaces. The thing that would be more helpful would be if there was lighting inside the units not just in the hallways, in case a person comes in at night. fraudsters- this facility, specifically the owner & employees, are dishonest & have left themselves fully exposed to litigation- as they committed fraud.i always thought public storage as a corp. were great. ive used other public storage facilities for years & never had an issue. until recently! this facility has employees who will create fake documents and submit them to corporate as if they were submitted by the customer. the facility just kicked out a ton of rv customers for a renovation. they notified us on 9/10 that we had to be out by 9/30 and they are not only keeping the entire months rent (good til 10/8) they are charging every auto pay customer for the konth of october saying its their responsibility to cancel their auto pay. i have 4 documents and confirmation emails of document submission by employees that i never requested & never approved. i vacated prior to 9/30, yet the facility did not process my move out. someone went into my account and lied, claiming that i loved out on 9/30 by my own request- little do they understand that they are on a recorded line telling me i have no choice, i have to be out by 9/30 & if i stay even 1 extra week, they're charging me for another month. i'm taking all of my information and evidence to corporate and filing a complaint. do not rent from this facility, they play nice at move in, then they rob you & boot you out when the season is prime to increase rent! read more

My wife found PS in Murrieta, CA and I was surprised to find out how close it was to our home. We asked for help and Mary Kay assisted us that very second. Mary invited us to ride with her in her golf cart to look at the space. Our small 5th wheel trailer would fit just fine. Mary quickly signed us up and arranged for reasonable automatic payments. Through the year PS would call and ask if we had the trailer out. We confirmed that we did have it out. To our surprise, we felt like someone was looking out for us. We felt safe and secure knowing people like Mary and the team did a great job for their customers. A year later we asked Mary to help us get into a pull through space. Mary placed us on a waiting list. About six months later she found us one at an affordable rate. As the years go by, I find that PS is satisfied with the local residents using their facilities and creates another neighborhood inside PS. This atmosphere unites a friendship feeling when we see each other saying hello or giving a friendly wave. Mary Kay shares her positive attitude and it rubs off on us. Don't store anything of value at this facility. My motorhome has been broken into twice. In addition the break-ins continue unabated. I have been told that it appears that the break-ins are an "inside job" by the son of one of the employees. I am in the process of relocating my motorhome but Public Storage seems to be the only game in town. All other facilities are full with a waiting list or your have to park on dirt, not a viable option. The are area lighting fixtures where the vehicles are parked that do not work and the staff indicated that PS is not going to fix them. In addition, the rear gate has been tampered with several time and now is chained. I wonder how long that will keep them out. The position of PS is to bad we aren't responsible. They promote the image of security but don't really provide it. Best thing to do is stay away, don't store anything here. read more

Employees are nice and helpful. I have rented parking and storage here. My only complaint is they will try to nickel and dime you to death. First you must buy their lock at 3x what you could buy one for. Then every 6 months they will jack up your monthly bill. They just raised my small storage unit from $87 to $109 and I have only had it 6 months. Friend and family have also renter here and the same thing happed to them. Gate locks at 9pm also. The service at the counter is excellent however the longer you stay here the more you pay? Our fees have continued to go up every year since 2009 so no breaks for the long term customer. Plus our trailer was broken into and not a word was said to us.When we called the police to do a report the police told us yes some guy had broken into several units but they caught him. However, when we informed them at the counter nothing was said except oh sorry. How about a discount off our fees.. that would have been a decent gesture. So, although. I think the counter service is good , and I think the place in general is well kept. I am very disappointed in the continued rate hike for long term customers , and the fact that once they knew our trailers had been broken into and we had to replace our locks etc that we only got a "oh sorry". read more

This is the worst storage facility EVER. I have had a storage there for over 2 years and never missed a payment or was I ever late. My husband died recently and I missed one payment by mistake. I called and talked to them about my bill, that they continually keep adding charges to. I told them that I would be paying my bill on the first of the month, but they wanted the entire amount paid by the last day of the month. I told them that I only get paid once a month and couldn't pay it until the 1st. They didn't want to hear it. They wanted the whole amount on the last day or they would be selling all my things and they were going to put a lien on it. And, that's exactly what they did. They wouldn't even wait one day! I read a lot of reviews and apparently this is what they do. You never know what the future brings, so be careful here. I would find another place to do business, I wouldn't rent from Public Storage, not any of them. I also told them about my husband who had just recently died and told them that what I have stored there is all I have left of him. They told me "Sorry", but it must be paid by the end of the month or they would be selling my things. They don't care about you. All they want are your things so they can sell them. People store a lot of things that are worth a lot of money in them and they know that. This place is the worst of the worst. Don't store your things at this facility if you value what your storing because they don' give a darn about you! read more

We had looked into moving to Washington and visited a public storage facility there that was great. Since we decided to stay locally, we choose Public Storage in Murrieta. Great staff. Clean location. I would recommend this site. read more

All the ladies working here are great. We use this location for boat storage, when a special came up that had a cheaper price than our current unit they happily and easily changed our spot. All their rv/boat spots are easily accessible. Convenient location, right off the freeway. Great for quick drop offs and pick ups. read more

The Whitewood/Murrieta location had excellent prices, great customer service and a very clean facility!!!

I moved to this storage mainly because it was closer to my home and it was a little cheaper than my previous. That was remedied after only 5 months when they raised my rent after Mary Kay indicated I wouldnt get the increase because I had moved in during May. When I asked the manager about it she waved my question off saying (and laughing) that it was corporate thing and there was "nothing she could do about it." More recently I had to move about 40 boxes in and out of storage that weighed about 40-50 lbs. a piece. The one rickety cart that was there when I moved in was nowhere to be found. I went to the office and asked the manager about the cart's whereabouts and she said that "somebody stole it." I said that was too bad and asked when it would be replaced. The manager said, " Oh, it's not going to be replaced! Sorry the bad people ruined it for you!" I indicated that wasn't very good business practice and I wasn't happy about the lack of any carts. " Well, I started out with 12 carts and now I have none! They cost $500 to replace and corporate isn't going to replace any." For those of us who work in jobs where customer satisfaction is king, this is unacceptable. Especially coming after a 10% rent increase. Multiply that increase times the number of units and I think Public Storage can afford at least one cart for its customers. Why not ask Sam's or Costco what vendor they use to but their carts and get a deal? Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I don't like being dismissed with a laugh while the manager bags on "corporate" for not doing anything. read more

DO NOT rent from this facility or any of the public storages. After 4yrs of keeping our house in this location we come to get our stuff & move out, EVERYTHING has been destroyed by rats! The rats ate the seals out of the refrigerator, ate the couch, urinated on everything, chewed through boxes & had rat feces all over. After speaking with management at both the facility & their corporate office, they refuse to assist with anything. From clothes to furniture to pictures, refrigerator & everything else in our unit has been destroyed. Public Storage put rat bate in our storage unit without notifying of even after they first discovered their rodent issue. Their insurance they offer does NOT cover rodent damage & they could care less about your stuff. The on-sitemanager stated this was the worse damage she's seen yet no one is willing to assist with the damage from their poor unkempt rodent infested storage units. You're wasting your time & money if you rent from here. They'll take your money with no problems but won't do anything for damage they refuse to control. This is unjust, uncalled for and an absolute shame. I will continue to seek repayment for out of pocket expenses this poor pathetic company has caused. Do not waste your money! read more
