She patiently paused the contract, took me to see the others I was considering, and didn't rush me at all. WARNING: ACTIVE INFESTATION & TOTAL PROPERTY LOSS STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY. We experienced a total destruction of our life's possessions. A massive carpet beetle infestation is overrunning this storage unit. THOUSANDS of beetles and larvae were found crawling through our belongings. They are nesting in our boxes, burrowing into furniture, and infiltrating every microscopic crevice. It's nauseating. Since carpet beetle larvae feed on natural fibers, they are actively destroying our clothing, upholstery, and linens. Despite plastic-wrapping and sealing all belongings, including our sofa, the bugs ate through all the protective layers and the boxes! We are throwing away over 80% of everything we own. These items are unsalvageable. We're fumigating everything else. This level of infestation doesn't happen overnight; it reflects a complete lack of pest control and building maintenance. This facility's negligence is destroying everything we own. BOTTOM LINE: Do not store your items here. You are actually buying a ticket to a financial and emotional disaster. Find a different facility before you lose everything. If you already stored your items here, be warned that this infestation could transfer to yours at any point in time. I just didn't like when they suprise you with a raise in their price after a few months. They will start you out with a low price to get you to go with them and then they will just surprise you with the new price that I think is too much for a small space/unit. Also, one of the staff there (african-american female) needs to learn how talk to customers in a courteous manner. She could use some good custoner service training. read more

I got a an email (5:30am) and "courtesy call" (1:30pm) today to warn me that I need to be out by the time they close...I was in the property unloading my items at 5pm and I left at approx 6:30pm, they changed their operating hours in Feb 1st I live 2.5 hours away... I went to Public Storage Sunday with a van full of my belongings to get through the gate, unload and get stuck at the door. I came back the following day AFTER work and busted you know what to get everything into my unit. The following day I got an email (see photo), which no one proof read . It really pissed me off to know they saw the video of me getting locked out on Sunday AND the amount of stuff I needed to move Monday to still think it was cool to email and tell me that I have PLENTY OF TIME when I barely have time to shower these days commuting 5 hours everyday. Please reconsider your silly policy especially when I made it into my unit before you closed. Javier was the person who called and sent the email. When I asked him what will happen the next time I'm "late", he said they would restrict me to "office" hour access (WHAT???) this is where it got super silly. I asked to speak to the manager because frankly, Javier wasn't going to pass the message that their hours are silly and to punish a customer with a warning when they ENTERED the property before they closed, is too much. Then he predictably said he is the manager. To which I requested HIS manager to contact me. I have not received a call from any manager to provide my feedback. 3:00pm - called them back, and asked who the manager is and I was to Sevina (Shevina?) then I asked why Javier said he was a manager then she proceeded to tell me everyone who works there is a manager (What?). So I requested the manager of the managers she said Sevina again. She then suggested that I take down the district managers phone number, to which I declined because that's just a nice way of blowing me off and well I was not going to let that happen. read more

I made a reservation online for a 10x30 unit at 6800 Overlake Place, got confirmation email for the reservation. I even went to the place a week before my move-in and OK'd the unit and asked them to hold it for me and to call me if I needed to pay to ensure that I have it. A day before my move-in date, I was told that my unit had been rented out to someone else and there were no more 10x30 units available. I asked what they meant by a "reservation", she said that the reservation confirms only the price not a unit. So I am left high and dry with my move coming soon and no storage unit and higher prices elsewhere. read more

If you want you catalytic converter stolen, windows smashed, and vehicle destroyed then you have come to the right storage unit place. This storage has already been broken into many times. This is such a BS company And location. I reserved 2 units over the phone. Their representative screwed up my move-in date on one of the reservations. I tried to correct the date to no avail. I even called headquarters and I got hung up one. I ended up paying a $50 fee for their mistake because I dared to cancel. I took my business elsewhere due to their incompetence. OH WAIT there is more: 3 days after canceling my reservations (I canceled the same day I reserved) they still charged me $29.60 for which the property manager Nasira said I will get a refund. It's been a month and no refund. STAY AWAY from this location and company. They are not worth your time and money. They will steal from you if given the chance. read more

For months I've been trying to get my storage unlocked. I've called several times. Each time I call they say it takes 10 business days. I've been calling since December. Still haven't been able to get any access to my unit. Every time I come the customer service sucks. Today as I was pulling into the parking lot a black woman who worked here was getting into her car stated that I needed to call the number on the door. I've called it 10 times no answer. Her attitude was really terrible. This will be my last month at this storage unit. They close early. I can't even access my own unit haven't been able to in months and her reasoning is because my bill isn't payed. I don't wanna pay for something I can't even get into and haven't been able to get into for months. They do not value their customers and I'd rather take my money elsewhere. $109 a month is not worth this shitty service. read more

The condition and service here is absolutely abhorrent. Stored our work Van at the Newark location and it was broken into THREE TIMES. Catalytic Converter also stolen. I feel confident my property is protected in this building. I needed a closet for temporary storage because my kid came home from college and booted me out of her room. I checked Yelp (of course) for local facilities. Many came up. Many were more expensive. I chose this facility strictly for cost. I liked that I was able to complete the rental process online. I chose the size of the unit, then the specific unit (costs vary by convenience), submitted my deposit and within a few minutes I had a contract. I received an email with my contract and access instructions. When I arrived at the building I punched my code into the key pad, found parking right next to the front door, pulled out one of the many carts parked inside, and took the elevator to my floor and located my unit. The facility is very clean and I'm impressed by the state of the art features. I found my keys inside my upper unit, and then had to figure out how to get my stuff up there. I didn't understand in advance that an upper unit literally meant higher than ground level. Hence the lower cost! I'm clever. I managed. Everything fit. I locked up and left. Opposite the building, there are outdoor units and parking spots available for cars and small recreational vehicles. read more

I moved in when gate hours closed at 9pm, now they close at 5p' and 6pm. The rates go up but I have less hours of access to my unit. For working 8 to 5 people it isn't convenient. Luckily there are tons of holes in the gates left not fixed from people breaking in. Process was quick and easy, and decided to store my stuff in a clean indoor climate control unit.

Recently, I have been noticing that they are always out of the dolly carts to move furniture and heavy boxes into the storage units. Secondly, they have 2 elevators, but only 1 has been in service for few months now. Today, I went to move lots of heavy boxes and some furniture into my 4th floor unit. I happen to see only 1 cart which was in use by another person. I asked the person if he had seen any more carts, he stated that he himself waited 30 minutes for the cart he is using before some other customer brought it back down. So I notice that me and this other customer are the only people in the vicinity and there's no one else here. This particular storage place used to have 6 dolly carts majority of the time since my 1 year of paying for storage here. So I decided to call the front desk/office, a lady employee answered plus chose not to provide her name and hung up on me when I asked for her name. I notified her that there is only 1 cart here which is in use right now and I have been waiting for quite some time and I can't find dolly to move my own stuff to the 4th floor. I also went to the 4th floor to look around for the dolly but couldn't find or locate one. The lady employee states that these carts are as a courtesy so I should bring one of my own. I was not only confused but offended, that I am a paying customer here and the dolly cart is an additional feature for the services that I am paying for. She stated that there are only 2 carts in service at the moment and if there is 1 in use then the other 1 is somewhere in the building. I told her that as a storage facility, #1 your employees should be making rounds to bring back unused carts and not have customers carry heavy stuff in hand up the building. This is not what I am paying public storage for. The lady employee then stated that oh well people keep them in their storage units and don't return them. So #2 I told her that, your company should have a policy of getting or charging people who are stealing your property but if you guys only have 2 carts currently, why are you not replenishing the carts by buying more. She states, sir like I said this is a courtesy and don't tell me how to do my job. She stated that she had sent out a person just now to go get the 2nd cart back. After waiting for 20 minutes, I did not see any person come to the elevator area nor bring the 2nd cart down. I asked what her name was, and she hung up on me. I had to make 4 trips to my storage unit because there was no available carts and I had to carry all my stuff in hand. This is very irresponsible and very unprofessional way of providing customer service to paying customers. Not only you are not providing them the services that they are paying for but you have the nerve to tell them that "oh bring your own cart". Why should I pay for a storage fee when the tools to move furniture/etc. is not available to the customers here. What if it's a elderly person or a person with disability and they need to put stuff in storage. And what if there is a case of emergency and you have 1 elevator shut for so long. And only 1 in service. I hope the management sees this and takes an action. Also provide some coaching to their employees. After hearing the recorded message on their after hours phone system, the lady who is saying the message, was the same lady whom I spoke to and hung up on me. read more
