First off, reading these fake reviews from May is hilarious, they don't have front desk people anymore at these places, you have to call and make an appointment, *spoiler alert* no one ever actually picks up the phone, they're 50/50 about returning your calls. So I have been a renter here for two years, and recently reported them to the BBB just to get a response from the manager. This facility has repeatedly singled me out, engaging in what appears to be borderline discriminatory practices. In August, while unloading my belongings in the morning, I was aggressively confronted by someone identifying as an associate who berated me over two instances in which I left at 21:30 and 21:01 in the same month, the hours of operation at this site are 06:00 to 21:00 daily. I was deeply offended and explained that the 21:01 departure was due to the facility's own application failing to connect via Bluetooth to open the gate in a timely manner. I advised him to review security footage, he then made a sarcastic response, threatened me and walked off, I think Jose was his name? Following this incident, I attempted to contact the manager regarding the associate's behavior, but my calls were never returned. More recently, I discovered that my access hours were unilaterally restricted to 09:00-18:00 daily, despite my app still displaying access between 06:00-21:00. I was never formally notified of this change, and it has cost me both time and gas, as the facility does not even adhere to its own posted hours in my case. Attempts to reach corporate have been ignored. The on-site manager is consistently rude and degrading when I speak with him. He claims, "Before your hours were restricted, you had been notified twice of your departures past 21:00," yet has failed to provide any documentation or proof of my acknowledgment of such notifications. This facility frequently participates in passive aggressive treatments and defacing personal property showing blatant disregard for even the most basic respect for their customers. This facility has ongoing issues with individuals sleeping in units, active intravenous drug use on site, and theft, patrons will frequently bring Dremels and bolt cutters and break into units after the place has closed, yet they refuse to install cameras inside the facility. I myself had a homeless individual with psychiatric ailments living in the unit above mine and presumably still there in unit 1077-A who came in the building, saw me accessing my unit and using the metal rollaway stairs as a makeshift desk and proceeded to ignore my use of them and kicked my belongings off as he climbed up to his unit. There was one instance where I was there late at night around 20:50 and some of the......'patrons' who reside in the rafters above were messing with me and found it comical to make loud sharp 'bangs' up top to try and scare me. I am a licensed drone operator and took my mini up top to see and confirmed at least two people residing in the rafters above, by way of proxy also having limited access to all storage units thanks to the gaps in the shelfing, so basically whatever they can reach by squeezing their arms through those gaps they will grab. To combat this as of last week they changed everyone's access hours to 08:00 - 17:00 yet still charge us our full rental price. I have rented from public storage before, this is not their common practice, and why this one gets to make their own rules, harass customers, and impose dictatorship rule is beyond me. I want to personally thank Haden for his incredible professionalism and genuine care. I accidentally dropped my card holder with my driver's license inside into the elevator door gap. The very next day I had a flight to another state, so the situation was extremely urgent and stressful for me. Haden took this seriously right away. He clearly explained the urgency, the possible emergency service process, and potential costs. But instead of just following a standard procedure, he went above and beyond to find a faster and smarter solution. Thanks to his effort and dedication, I got my driver's license back the same day and was able to catch my flight the next morning. That level of responsibility, calmness under pressure, and willingness to truly help is rare. We need more professionals like Haden in every industry. I also want to say that this storage location consistently has an outstanding team. Every time I call, someone answers. If they miss a call, they return it. They explain everything clearly, help with any issue, and genuinely care about solving problems. I even had a situation before with lost keys, and the team handled it quickly and professionally. The facility is always clean, organized, reasonably priced, and very well managed. Highly recommend this location and especially Haden. Im a new tenant at this facility. Over the last week its been very uncomfortable to try and access my unit because the property is allowing a homeless person to live inside of his unit. I have brought this to their attention multiple times and they continue to allow it to happen. I am concerned for my safety every time I visit my unit because this person is always lingering right by the load in door. Ive reached out multiple times to Tom the supposed manager but he hasnt gotten back to me. I guess my safety concern just isnt that important to PUBLIC STORAGE. I would rent elsewhere like accross the street where they take concerns like this seriously. read more

1 star is because I must submit a pick, North Hollywood public storage , was the worst experience I've ever had. Pandemic and a car accident I losses my home packed everything up,one day I was u loading my car after the holidays. I was basically told I was loitering, and I need to hurry up front of other customers later that day I had a car issue and I was unable to get it off the property in time with help from the worker there I was told it was OK the next day I received an email saying please don't be late again. Well after they charge the card that I did not give them consent to do the abandon the contract, and I was unable to get my stuff. they continue to charge my card without allowing me to get in and get my stuff out, my storage was locked at 6 AM. I had a truck rented in with no one even showed up until 10. The trucks left and I was told due to the fact that the truck is not there. I am not allowed to leave with my stuff, nor will they unlock it. Everything is gone . I'm devastated read more

The location's manager was very helpful and friendly, and made the process of paperwork and moving in go quick and painless. She let my coworkers start moving stuff into our unit while she and I handled all of the paperwork. Another advantage to this location is that all of the units are ground level, and easy to drive up to for unloading and loading. read more

***UPDATE*** 6/1/16 The manager Tom has since reached out and provided a resolution. I'm happy to say the issues have been resolved. 5/31/16 Terrible service. They changed all the doors and locks and failed to notify me of this change. When I went to open my locker (I intended selling a piece of furniture I had stored) they said they lost my new set of keys! Since it was a weekend, they couldn't get a locksmith in until 2 days later. I had no access to my belongings and the manager was out of town. Called the manager with no answer or call back. Terrible service and unprofessional. I also request a lightbulb every single time I come and they always say they ran out and have to order more. Would not recommend. read more

What a terrible customer service, Brandon, the manager thinks he is the owner of the public storage, my cousin reserved a unit with $1 promo and when he went to get it brandon told him you can not get it for $1 because you had units before. I called to corporate office and asked them about the situation, they told me if you did not have units within last 7 days then you are eligible, then she called to the office and Brendon refused again. I am considering this as DISCRIMINATION, because my cousin does not speak English good, can someone explain how come the corporate office allows and the brandon does not. read more

Stop looking for a Storage company and come to this location!! Very well maintained and under GREAT management. Brandon was an absolute pleasure and diligently showed us various units with an exceptional presence and attitude. The grounds are very well kept and safely secured. Being a drive-up location, ALL units are accessible by truck, which makes for a much easier loading/unloading process. I'd say it's worth driving out of the way for. I made multiple calls to different storage companies and was overly impressed when I dealt with this location. Awesome service from the front desk I wish I remembered her name (young girl with dark hair.) but she waited for me after hours since I HAD to get the storage that day. She even toured me around the place with no rush. I can't say the same for her coworker though she had quite the attitude. It didn't ruin my experience though since the girl helping me was so polite. I was shopping yesterday for storage unit in North Hollywood area, in that they area within 2 miles about six different storage facilities that I went to public storage on 10810 Vanowen st. I asked to see two different units which is one priced at $201 per months, when I saw the unit I asked ifit is possible to replace weatherstrip, is it all worn out and nothing left of it.and it is pretty windy area in the unit is drive up unit. Joanne replied no this is old facility and we not going to replace weatherstrip, I asked again but maybe I can call somewhere before I moving it would be replaced so all dust not going to be flying into my unit, after my second request she said she will put the request but it's good take 4 to 8 weeks and that's probably not going to be approved. I went to see a different unit a smaller size and I was shocked even more you could see the pictures and be a judge if you want to bring your personal belongings today at the unit and I asked her after I pushed piece of mud to the side, I asked if this unit was cleaned and she said yes it was, I cleaned it. I said, but can I get different unit the same size she replied it's not guaranteed when you make reservations you get the unit whatever will be assigned to you by computer, so you will get whatever it's going to be, we don't know what you are going to get. I left being shocked and cold corporate office .One day later Tom Dickens called me saying word to word what Joanne told me. It is the old facility and we are not going to remodel for you, I said I am not asking to remodel the unit I'm just asking for you need to be clean and in move-in condition. Tom Dickens told me I should shop at other facilities this facility is old facility. and Tom is a district manager.if district manager talk to his customers like that how do you think he Teaches his employees to deal with their customers in the nice way being polite providing customer service being professional?if I would be spending $200 a month for the next three years that's about $7000 I would pay for that unit.you don't think there will be a profit to replace weatherstrip or clean the unit????? read more

The staff here is very friendly, and they have a security system that seems to rival the White House. So if you're looking for something that is SUPER secure and climate controlled, this place is very nice. The prices were a little high compared to some other storage facilities we priced out, and the staff, while like I said is very friendly, they're also very pushy. I felt like we were on a used car lot with the sales person wanting to sign the deal. On top of that, we wanted to check out some other places and said so, so they made a reservation for us at another Public Storage facility which was beyond disgusting.
