When I retrieved my car, everything was great, thanks to the security systems in place and the excellent professionalism of the day manager, Ryan Vega. I've had the worst experience dealing with this place. First of all the guy who works there during the week is the rudest salesman I've ever dealt with. He's rude, and not helpful at all. And they lied about getting a month free, I moved in in the middle of the month, they did not give me anything free, and if you are late with your payment, they will not work with you on payment, they put alien on my unit after being two weeks late, they wouldn't even take a partial payment, until I could pay the rest And don't even get me started with the late fees, and the restocking fees, they found a fee for anything they could think of.. overall this location is horrible, I've used public storage in the past and had a wonderful experience.. That's why when I needed storage again, I chose public storage. But this location is ridiculous. Do not go to the Whittiet location, unless you want to get ripped off! read more

STAY WELL AWAY I had a family emergency and went back to UK. I put all my belongings in their storage choosing a more expensive $300 a month drive up unit. I came back 6 months later went to storage and soon as i opened the door i could see everything was covered in an inch dust and dirt. I dont expect unit to be sterile or completely airtight but do expect contents to be protected from the elements or else I might as well leave items in the street. Everything was covered in dirt, dust and dampness had seeped in to all the furniture, clothes, mattresses and TV. Everything aside from a few things in contractor bags that protected it was ruined. It was so bad I could barely get into the unit as i didnt want to breathe it in or get filthy. I went to office and site manager went back to unit with me. He didnt want to go inside unit either and said they had had issues with units and changed doors recently thinking that would help (it obviously didnt) I was given TOM DICKENS name as the GM. I explained the situation and that I had spent $3k keeping my stuff there and as a sign of good faith covered Dec rent and then proceeded to add it all back on in fees. He told me that as general manager he has no authority to deduct fees which obviously is not true. If a general manager cant deduct $300 on an account what is he managing? Their insurance company also seems fake. They are supposed to cover units up to $5k but thats if you have makes, models, receipts and itemized lists of what you have in storage. How many people have that you think? WITH SO MANY PEOPLE NEEDING STORAGE FROM THE FIRES I RECOMMEND YOU STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. My wife and I have a 5 X 5 storage. Rent started at $112 three years ago in August. Shortly after, the rent was raised to $128. About a year after that, it was raised again to $168. Now I just got an email last week stating that they will be raising the rent again to $212. That's $100 more than what we started. This place is a scam! Don't let them ruin you in with a low price because it won't stay that way. I get inflation, but this is completely out of control. The owner is taking advantage of inflation, and that's bad karma. I bought a unit here (17x20) all the way in the back of facility. Ian was the person in charge really nice guy helped me a lot with the beginning of getting a unit. We only needed it for 1 month and took everything out. I called 2 days before my charge date and they didn't answer 15 times I called. "Rafie" finally answered and told me that it's too late cause I have a lock on it. I went back and removed the lock immediately and attempted to call back but no one answered the whole day so I can cancel. Too busy with work to go in person. They still charged me for a empty and cleaned out unit. So I disputed it with my credit card company. Now I'm getting threats about sending me to collections. Rafie stated on the phone that if I don't pay in 10 days I'm going into collections for a empty unit. Very rude during the phone call interrupting me and giving attitude with I asked simple questions about the lock policy. I wish I was speaking to Ian about this issue he would of settled it properly im sure. But Rafie is NOT suited to work with customers. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars cause if Ian being cool employee there and making it a breeze renting the unit. read more

I'm actually sad to close out my unit at this Public Storage today. The location really helped me through the pandemic and provided a safe space for over two years. Ian, the property manager, has been so friendly and helpful since the day I moved in. He maintained such a positive attitude throughout such a stressful few years. I'm going to miss him. The parking is very convenient. If you're selling items off of Craigslist or other marketplaces, it's a great meeting location close to the freeway, connecting LA and the valley. The spaces are reasonably priced for what you get. The only drawbacks of this location is the hours are somewhat limited compared to others nearby. Also, my unit was not the most lit but considering the rent price, it was a good value. Overall, I'd highly recommend this property. read more

We have been renting a unit at this location for about 14 years. We're very disappointed with our experience with Public Storage! We moved recently to another local chain and it's such a difference! We got fed up with customer service at this location. Comparing to other places, Public Storage is dirty (late last year it was a prosthetic penis in their main parking lot), unlit, barely has a cart per building (till recently they were under lock, you had to go to the office, get the key if you needed to use one), no public restrooms (they opened one recently, but no one said anything, too little too late). The rent keeps increasing, and recently we couldn't get in the building where we had our unit. They change the security system (which is fine) and you have to use a card to get in, but no one at the Public Storage mailed us one or e-mailed/called us to let us know about the change. We went to the main office to ask about it, there were 2 women working, kind of; they were eating chips the whole time we talked to them, laughing at us. They thought it was funny we didn't have the card and couldn't get in the building! A service we pay for years. These are the people they hire! We asked what happened and they tried to blame it on us somehow??? Even if they have our info on file -our address (it's the same one we're at for over 10 years), phone number and e-mail address. We get mail, e-mails, and calls from them when they increase rent or send the bill over, so it didn't make sense to us. I called their Management at the corporate office to complain, it took me a while to get a hold of someone and they said they couldn't e-mail us about it because they don't do that? Nowadays, really? And we asked for a discount, something to keep us as their customers. All we got was a whole bunch of nothing. Fine! We shopped around and found a unit closer to where we live in a place that's clean, well lit, has restrooms, carts anytime we need one, customer service is good and is cheaper! I did call Public Storage before to check if there's anything around, there were no units available (except this place we wanted to get away from), it's expensive and if we have moved to another location with Public Storage they wouldn't have given us any discount or waived the installment fee ($20). That's how they treat long time customers here! The manager from this location asked us about our experience, well, we did tell him all the above and some. Maybe he regretted asking the question. He did ask us to review their place and I would have done it anyway. Stay away from this place, shop around! Avoid this chain! There are better options out there. read more

I had THE WORST experience here. My husband and I have both have had units with them for about 2 years. We went to move one of them over and had a policy question. Heaven forbid the employees actual know what the policies are and where they are in writing. We waited for 30 minutes while Jasmine, Raquitta, and one more girl thought it was funny that they couldn't find the policy. We had to hear about whether they should order Paquito Mas or Chipotle for lunch the entire time. Also, all 3 of them refused to get off their cushy chairs to walk down to where the manager was. I was standing there 8 months pregnant being tortured by these inadequate employees. Then they have the audacity to call me and ask for "Adumnah" really? I said "are you looking for Autumn?" Raquitta said "yeah but it's spelled weird"... really because my name is spelled exactly like the season...... Public storage needs to hire more competent employees! read more

Very upset! They shouldn't even get one star. Don't trust these people! I am in tears right now. I had to put some very sentimental stuff in here because I had no space. It was my dads art work who passed away a few months ago. I drove for 30 minutes to go to my storage unit, which is all paid up to get some things out only to find that they cut and destroyed my lock and replaced it with another. I told them to open it and they refused. They said I had to have another lock to do that. I didn't have one and they were about to close. Also I didn't want to buy another lock from them because I don't want to give them anymore money. They just want to rip me off. Since the office was going to close I have to come back tomorrow. This is not fair, since I paid my rent a few days ago. I am praying that my dads art and all my precious family photos that can't be replaced are still in there as I wait till tomorrow to go back over there. BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION!!! THEY AUCTIONED OFF OUR ENTIRE UNIT!!!! This place is UNETHICAL!!! Over a year ago my ex-husband and I rented TWO storage units from this location. We vacated ONE unit Feb 4th 2017 and the other one (with all of my/our stuff in it) was AUCTIONED OFF by the management/owners without us knowing about it!! We recently visited the unit to find all of our possessions GONE and another persons stuff in the unit!! Management has "turned over" twice since February 2017, paperwork has gone "missing" and we are left DEVASTATED. They take ZERO RESPONSIBILITY. We are most devastated by the photos and memories that are now out there somewhere possibly in the trash. My ex-husbands photos of him and his deceased father were the most precious. Needless to say we had hundreds of thousands of dollars of artwork and important lifetime collectibles, memories, are all gone! Management mixed up Paperwork which caused them for some reason to believe BOTH units were vacated when we only vacated ONE!!! Since the second unit was listed as "vacated" (although it wasn't) they decided to AUCTION ALL OF OUR POSESSIINS OFF. They told us that it's POLICY to leave ONLY ONE PHONE MESSAGE "WITHOUT ANY NECESSARY DETAILS OR WARNING" regarding the unit. So basically they say they called me in March anf left a voice mail asking me to call them back. THEY said it's against policy to leave DETAILS!!!! They also didn't send an email, or a letter or anything!!! It's "not policy!" to send an email or letter or call more than once!! A few days later since they didn't hear back in time they auctioned off all of our possessions!!! WE DIDN'T EVEN GET AN EMAIL. ONLY ONE OF US WAS CALLED ONCE, no letter, nothing. When we found out they said that management has turned over twice, therefore there was no paperwork to be found and there's nothing they can do. When I vacated one of the units, I walked the management over to the unit to actually show show him exactly which unit we vacated!!! And they still auctioned off the other one!!! Since then I've heard that this place make a lot of money!! So they legally do as little as possible to look out for and take care of their clients. It's a business for them to auction off these units. I guess they feel that leaving one voicemail without any details is a sufficient enough effort on their part to let a client know they are auctioning off their life belongings. NO EMAIL, NO LETTER, ONLY ONE VOICE MAIL, which I can't find and they say they left. (Is that sufficient in a world where people barely listen to voice mails anymore?). We are forever heartbroken and devastated. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY OR AT LEAST A DIFFERENT LOCATION!! And double triple check your paperwork!! And in top of it, I vacated ONE of the two units on Feb 4th yet they still charged me the full month of February saying that because I paid by credit card and recurring billing, they can't refund that month. I paid for an additional month I wasn't even using. I'm leaving my website info so you can see I am a reliable person. I have been on TV for many years and I am very aware of my reputation. We were initially pleased with service at this facility. As we live abroad, maintaining a safe storage with reasonable rates and trouble-free billing has been very important. Recently the credit card were using expired. In spite of having been instructed to contact us by email, employees have called my family members at the local contact number. We updated the credit card info on the company's website more than a month ago, but the automated billing seems to have stopped and now we're being charged an extra $75. This would be frustrating if we were living in Los Angeles. Trying to deal with this from abroad is onerous to say the least. read more

I wish I can rate this 0 stars...I have never written a Yelp review before but I usually always come on here to read reviews before I visit places, dine somewhere, shop, etc. Today I have to write a review because I want to look out for all those that come on here to read reviews like myself. DO NOT RENT A STORAGE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my stuff stolen from my unit. Not only did I not notice when I first picked up everything and moved it out, but the employees stated this had been happening which is why the times to come in and out have been changed. The lock wasn't picked or broken, they unscrewed the hinges of the door and took all my shoes, sneakers, handbags, nintendo wii, and hats. I am a HUGE fashionista, so it was probably over 2,000 dollars stolen. The employees had nothing to say about it nor were apologetic and the district manager has yet to get back to me. Whats worse is when I went to file a police report for the insurance, the officer told me it had been happening lately at this public storage. Save yourself the headache, go to a place where they monitor and is extremely safe; this might be cheaper in the beginning but in the end you come out losing. Hope this helps! read more
