I rented a unit at the location over 2 years ago. I was using it for my possessions, then allowed my daughter to use it as well. A few days ago, my daughter became ill, and was hospitalized. I decided to vacate the unit because I could not afford to pay the rent for her. Yesterday, I was at the unit removing her possessions. I received a call from the hospital that they were needing to put her on life support. I immediately left the property and inadvertently left a cart inside the unit. This afternoon, February 1st I received a call about the cart, I apologized and left the hospital to go and remove the last of her possessions. I was there 30 minutes, within the hour of departing the property. I received a call advising me that I was still responsible for February full rent? So, I had the unit for a half of the day in the month, I pay the rent and they get to lease the space out again in the same month? This public storage is horrible. I had been trying to get hold of this office for about a month to try and see how to vacate the storage since I have never done it before and when I tried to go in person no one was ever there. I tried calling many times never did I get a call back. I did get a call a few days ago saying I owe them $300+ because apparently the unit has a lock. I have the lock to the unit with the key in my car. So I don't know why there is a lock I have absolutely nothing in the unit. I have been trying to vacate the property long before the other payment was due. I don't believe I have to pay anything. I have had nothing but bad customer service here. read more

On the 2nd floor the air isn't circulated. Also there's supposed to be two carts for the tenants to use, however I only found one. I walked the entire upstairs and downstairs. The one I found, an elder lady was occupying it. She just had her items sitting on it, because there was no one there to help her. After 30 mins she was still in the exact same position with no movement. I offered to help her so I could use it which she accepted. There was a worker there, walking around with a clipboard, I think she should've been helping to regulate more so that it could run smoothly for everyone. read more

Since I've had a unit here they have raised the rent multiple times, had a water line break that flooded units and stopped staffing the location. So if you need any assistance you have to call the corporate line and wait in hold to make an appointment (no earlier than 24 hours in the future) before you can get help. They will lock you out 7 days after the first of the month and charge a late fee. Tried to get access to vacate my unit and they said you are still required to pay the full month. Absolutely the worst experience with any storage company I have ever used. read more

Major service issues, flooding issues nobody available onsite. Slow to respond online. Last straw was having the lights not work as we were attempting a move out. Asked for an extension or for a speedy resolution to the maintenance issue and were denied both. Went to get something from them recently and it was broken into again. Never notified or even notes on it happening. No police reports were made by these shady f*ckers either times. I moved in September 2020. They raised my rent and I have auto pay. They just deducted a higher amount from my account. When I asked they said it's month to month and they can make the rent whatever they want. So they advertise one price, and once you move in, they raise your rent and charge you more. SCAM read more

I gave it a one because of trying to complete the rental online. They system would only give you the unit they want to give you at the higher price. So the units that are closer to the entrance doors are higher priced. Once you go to site and look at the units you have to take the ones on the second floor far away from door. If it wasn't for the manager who was working that day I would have left and found another room. read more

The storage facility is clean and well-maintained. The staff has always been very helpful. The security is decent -- to access an inside unit one needs to have a punch code to get through the gate and outside door before getting to the padlock on the unit door. The grocery store next door results in fairly continuous traffic in the area. Expect a periodic rate increase. My rate increased 15% at 6 months and another 15% at 18 months. I imagine most people just accept the increase to avoid the inconvenience of moving to another storage facility. read more

The staff at this location were fantastic! They were very helpful, courteous, and very friendly. I'd recommend them for any storage needs. My one complaint was that the 2nd floor was not air conditioned....just air cooled. Air is not that cool in the summer. The elevator nearest to the unit also did not work the day we moved out. Hello, BRING A LOCK, if you don't have one you have to buy a lock from them at 21 something. That is a crazy/ridiculous price. The units are great. But the lot is dirty. trash and crap everywhere; I would like to say the wind blows junk through. The one dollar for the first month is a positive! The guy who works here was great (the woman who helped me had an attitude, really lady, body language and your facial expressions says it all, you are in customer service, smile and be happy; i didn't give you an attitude at all. If you are having a bad day, don't take it out on your customers). I bet she will read this and I won't get a smile now. So hey for 5 stars, really, clean the lot and drop the prices on the locks! read more

Sign on to a reasonable deal and then watch your monthly rent increase LIKE CRAZY. They are banking on the fact that you won't make the effort to move your stuff to another facility. Also, I signed up for auto-pay and naturally, the credit cards eventually expire. They are merciless about giving you a 25% late fee and wont budge on reversing the charge. Best Public Storage EVER!!! It is the cleanest one I've ever been to...but even better than its cleanliness, is the service. Santos is the nicest employee I've ever come across at a public storage. He is so helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is taken care of. Everyone I saw in that building asked for something they needed help with and he helped every single person. They must be regulars too because they all had conversations as if they did often and you can tell they loved him as well. That's how you know the employee genuinely enjoys his job, by the way they treat their customers. Overall, it was a great experience and I will most definitely be coming back! If i could give this place a zero I would. The elevator in the south of the building was broken since first of the year. The place is always dirty and I have reported storage units pried open which they were not aware of. On 9/4/2017 went to the unit which is on the second floor to obtain some of our items. I heard a lot of people yelling and found out why. The second elevator was broken and they have no way to access the second floor other then the elevators. The girl working out front was upset at the angry customers and said she did'nt need their crap and everyone could leave. This place is not safe nor do they take care of the equipment. As soon as the elevator is fixed we are out of there. read more

Ashley & Santos were very helpful in making our move from out of state as smooth as possible once we arrived to unload our moving truck. Santos also helped us determine which size was right for us (thankfully since we needed a larger one than we had anticipated!). Would recommend! Very happy with the space and area feels secure being on a main road with lots of lights and traffic. The only thing I would note that we were not aware or used to coming from California is that they do require you to have insurance on the storage unit which is about $15 on top of your costs per month. Maybe that is standard but just was a surprise for us. Other than that small detail we are thrilled with PS and the crew at this location! read more

I was very pleased in every way. I had a bunch of office items I had to store (unexpectedly), and I wasn't super-happy about having to pay for rental space, but I was delighted with the treatment I received at this Public Storage on Cheyenne. The lady who was the property manager was very outgoing and helpful the whole time. She took the time to walk me through the whole procedure -- the cost of units, the options for payment, the procedure for entry and exit, and was very polite. The place was very clean and well-kept -- a very professional maintenance, obviously. I understand the reviewer "Adam D." wasn't happy about paying for his lock, but I felt the price was very fair for it, given that I'm also paying for peace of mind, protection of my stuff, and reasonable access. It was like what -- eleven dollars? Not a king's ransom. Oh, and I forgot to mention that you can *keep the lock* forever after you're done using it on the Public Storage locker, so in other words, it's a fee you can avoid if you ever need to store stuff in the future...or just want to lock up your bag at the gym or something. It's hardly a "racket." In short, I would definitely use this business again...with my new Public Storage lock. read more

It is a storage facility. They did pressure me into over paying for a lock as they said mine is not "Secure enough" and "We will not approve that lock". It is my stuff why not let me buy the lock I want. That is my opinion. If you are going to require a lock that you approve then make it a little more reasonable price. The price was excessive for that device given the quality of the lock. That is their racket though nearly everyone had the "approved" lock on their storage facility so they must only approve those that are sold to/at you. Although the customer service is great, the physical upkeep of the facility is horrible! Every time I have to go to my storage unit there is trash, trash, trash on the outside and inside the building even on the elevator. I just really wish that they take more care on cleaning the facility. I have read some of the previous reviews and they mention how well-kept and clean the facility is...must have been at night when the trash wasn't visible. I have been renting for 2 years now and the uncleanliness has been visible for the last year and 1/2. My hope is that they get it together. read more
